I wasn’t satisfied with the mechanics of the original editions, while still fun, don’t get me wrong, there was no end goal other then to proclaim “These are my waifus, and this is how I did it.” Not a bad thing mind you but points didn’t do anything, and choosing much of the deities / items did nothing game wise they were just nifty side notes. My goal is to turn this into more of a proper game with a goal, a reason for what you are doing / collecting.
I am currently in the process of deciding how in-depth I wish to go with this project. What the general plot will be, how many princesses I should include, balancing issues as I don’t want any one princess be too powerful as to overshadow the others, but I have to keep in mid this IS about collecting waifus as well so personal taste takes factor. UGH!
But as for game play, so far my current mental build is this… You collect military points to defeat the big boss guy, needing to get a certain amount of points to do so with not having enough giving you different endings depending on your points acquired. For example you may utterly fail but choosing more pleasures then acquiring points and you and the princesses all die. Alternatively you could get enough to save yourself alone but all the princesses die. You could get enough to save only you and your waifus, or at the very best save everyone.
I want end games to actually mean something and not just be costumes you could otherwise make in your kingdom. For example maybe having everyone including yourself gives you an extra slap in the face as the big boss guy resurrects you to be his torture toy / power bottom… unless you are into that sort of thing. Then maybe just the torture. Saving certain sets of princesses could give you end game results like saving all the undead princesses grants you immortality, your body may waste away to bones but you look badass.
As for personally changing the art colors… Just more of a personal thing, I wanted the crowns to be actual gold, clothes to not confuse my eyes as just strange skin folds, just make it more colorful in general.
A question however I ask is would the forum want a more indepth fighting system? Maybe have totally military points be added to say a dice roll to determine damage done to the big boss guy in hopes of defeating him rather then multiple endings depending on total points collected… Sounds like more painful OCD work but if the interest is there ill consider it…
But please note all of this is in the early stages of development, I am also toying with many other ideas to merge into this game… possibly…
