So…some time back I came up with an idea long before I learned about Towergirls and the spin-off Towerknights initially inspired by games like Castle Crashers and Shovel Knight involving a series of chibi style knights for an RP idea I'm workin on. While googling reference images, I came across the Towerknights designs and by proxy, learned of Towergirls and became lost in the awesomeness…which inspired a great many ideas I applied thereafter.

Basically me and my friends love dice/character sheet style RPG's but right now we're separated by distance and responsibilities and the long process of character creation is a pain when spur of the moment availability is an issue. So I had the idea to basically create 18 different "mystic knights" each with a unique theme, special abilities, skills, strengths and weakness and character quirks. The catch is the players have no control over who they end up with; picking totally at random and as an added challenge, can get extra experience if they apply the characters personality quirks.

These are four that have gotten the base colors; Green Knight, White Knight, Blue Knight and Iron Knight….going to post the original sketches and general details for all 18 next…and yeah you'll notice quite a few ideas I snagged from Towerknights. This is purely for personal use anyway; not planning to make any money off of this. And likewise if you'd like to take any of these and use them for your projects, feel free :)

The first 9; meant to be the most balanced stats wise and can each hold their own in most situations.

FROM LEFT TO RIGHT:

TOP ROW: Iron Knight: skilled blacksmith; incredible strength and defense. Gold Knight: charm and financial savvy; powers associated with light and luck. Indigo Knight: skilled wizard who wields offensive magic (fire, lightning, ice, etc)

MIDDLE ROW: Green Knight: Hunter/tracker woodsman; nature magic. White Knight: noble and courageous Templar; divine magic. Blue Knight: crackshot archer; magically enhanced senses and magic arrows.

BOTTOM ROW: Red Knight: martial artist; channels chi energy to enhance physical prowess and heal wounds. Bronze Knight: genius tactician and powerful presence; powers to inspire, intimidate and repel opposition. Silver Knight: swift dispatcher; powers of enhanced speed and evasion.

The second 9; far more specialized builds lacking in certain areas meant to pose more of a challenge for players.

TOP ROW: Copper Knight: experienced veteran warrior; powers of observation, clairvoyance and calming the savage heart. Brown Knight: skilled miner; powers of tunneling, vibration (quake) and darkness control. Lead Knight: impenetrable defense; powers of density, immovability and absorption of energy.

MIDDLE ROW: Orange Knight: purely offensive warrior: powers to enrage, empower and ignite by force of sheer anger. Pink Knight: graceful and deadly dancing duelist: powers of love and nimble/evasive movements. Yellow Knight: cowardly yet noble hearted bard; music based spells to subdue, befriend and confuse.

BOTTOM ROW: Gray Knight: iron willed judge; powers to imprison and dispel magic. Violet Knight: clever and mischievous jester; powers to entertain and deceive (illusions). Brass Knight: skilled engineer; powers to create machinery and manipulate natural forces via technology.

Oh yeah forgot to also explain that I'm using the GreenRonin D20 system for this and we'd be using the Roll20 virtual tabletop website to run games on, solving our issue with relative distance.

I was so fond of the three positives/two negatives idea with your format I'm going to be doing that as well as a way to lay out the quirks/personality details. I'll post those later as they become available.

So let me know what y'all think :)

I love the sketches, man. One thing that might improve your digital representations of these characters is to add and subtract a little weight from the lines here and there, for more information on that topic see 'nsio explains line dynamics' in the infogesphics portion of…

…I'd post it myself but I'm on my phone, sorry dude

I'm actually a graphic designer by trade; the heavy lines was done intentionally to add to the cartoony feel but thanks loads for the input. I'm currently revising a few of the designs and making a few alterations to the builds.

I realized the White Knight having really good combat stats plus healing and banishment/warding magic was a bit OP so

I'm changing the name of the current brown knight (the miner) to "Cobalt Knight" with its root to the cave dwelling mining sprite the Kobold and relegating most of the healing/protection powers to a new brown knight based on the pious and humble monk type aesthetic with the long robes over his armor. Meanwhile I'm giving the white knight buffing magic to aid team members along with more to offensively combat evil forces.

And originally the color yellow I had applied to a cowardly bard type knight, but after reading up on the symbolism of the color yellow, I learned it also symbolizes intellect along with madness. That put an idea in my head to good to pass up. I made the bard the aluminum knight since aluminum is a weak metal and the key component of harmonic devices like tuning forks and the new Yellow Knight into a mad prophet; an oracle with certain psychic powers, but also insane LOL

I'll post updates designs and WIP's as they become available if there's still an interest of course :P
