>>1884 Looks cool, would give him the runeblade and spellbook since that's in his profile. Kind of his thing. As he steals moves, abilities and spells with it.

Okay, scrapped the staff/polearm. Added the runed sword. Not sure how to do the book yet. I want to position the book in a way that it doesn't obscure too much of the character portrait. Maybe I could give him a big scroll on his back? Thoughts?
Anonymous 03/31/15 (Tue) 03:29:55 f9deb2 No. 1897
>>1896 You could go for something like this.
Anonymous 03/31/15 (Tue) 03:30:58 bc40bd No. 1898
>>1896 Could chain it to his hip. Have it levitating dramatically. Scroll works too. Book doesn't need to be too big though. Could be like a small journal in size.

I'm thinking about doing Raider Knight based on this.

Well, I added all the finishing touches. Unless I missed something, this is as far as my proficiency with photoshop will take this piece.
Good design? y/n
Anonymous 03/31/15 (Tue) 04:11:46 bc40bd No. 1906
>>1905 Yeah you blended knight and caster motifs well without going overboard. I don't find it better or worse than the other design. However, I would probably choose this one if I had to pick between the two.
Also I kind of think Blue Knight would be a good name. Like the first few knights follow a color theme. He'd be blue.

Raider Knight Sketch, any suggestions?
Anonymous 03/31/15 (Tue) 05:17:05 bc40bd No. 1929
>>1923 That helmet looks like it's going to show a lot of face. Would stylize it with shadow and glowing eyes. Or have his face covered in wraps with glowing eyes. Maybe he's cursed.
Anonymous 03/31/15 (Tue) 05:20:14 f9deb2 No. 1930
>>1929 Potentially what I could do is give closed eyeholes and a beard, How's that sound?
Anonymous 03/31/15 (Tue) 05:24:57 bc40bd No. 1932
>>1930 For this design it's okay I guess. If you're gonna show a lot of beard then make it comically big like the Wizard bonus companuon.
Anonymous 03/31/15 (Tue) 05:27:13 04190d No. 1933
>>1929 If his face was wrapped, he couldn't drink copious amounts of ale. That in itself would make for a most terrible curse for a Raider.
Also, pictured are some viking helmets, plenty of closed helm designs, courtesy of Google Image Search™.

Anonymous 03/31/15 (Tue) 05:31:19 f9deb2 No. 1936
Alright lets see if this works.
Anonymous 03/31/15 (Tue) 05:35:17 bc40bd No. 1938
>>1936 If you're going to put a beard it can't be played serious and straight. It needs to be bigger, bushy, and covering the mouth.
Anonymous 03/31/15 (Tue) 05:42:52 bc40bd No. 1940
>>1939 Closer, but still not there. What I mean is if you're going to put in a beard it better be gag tier. So like he's essentially helmet and beard. No mouth outlines. Refer to Wizard bonus companion in Gen 3's last page for reference.
Anonymous 03/31/15 (Tue) 05:44:58 f9deb2 No. 1941
>>1940 That is a mustache line. All really bushy beards have this.
Anonymous 03/31/15 (Tue) 05:48:35 f9deb2 No. 1943
>>1941 >>1940 I used this a reference.
Anonymous 03/31/15 (Tue) 05:48:31 04190d No. 1944
>>1941 I'd just scrap the beard entirely.
I'm personally getting attached to the idea of him being undead. Think about it, not only can he not enjoy delicious ales as a skeleton, but his entrance into Valhalla was denied by his undeath.
Perhaps he seeks a way around undeath by consulting an undead princess? Or maybe he simply seeks a new home after being exiled from the Raiders.

>>1948 >it shouldn't look cool, at all. It's supposed to look funny. Ummmm… who died made you the king of of TowerKnights?
Anonymous 03/31/15 (Tue) 05:56:18 96af0d No. 1951
>>1949 That's some very selective quoting you've got there.
Anonymous 03/31/15 (Tue) 06:01:18 f9deb2 No. 1952
>>1951 Maybe but seriously when it came to the other knights why is it suddenly this one thing that shouldn't be cool? I mean Monk Knight looks pretty cool and so does Arcane Knight, even Tesla Knight looks cool. Why cant this guy sport an awesome beard?
Anonymous 03/31/15 (Tue) 06:08:10 bc40bd No. 1953
>>1952 Face rule. Hair is one thing, but >facial< hair is almost always going to be a no-no unless it's so stylized or humorous that it doesn't matter. At that point it becomes something covering up the face rather than just some beard. Hence, using the Wizard companion as a reference who's schtick is exactly that. Anyway, Towergirls doesn't take itself too seriously. It's not unorthodox to throw in a little humor.
Anonymous 03/31/15 (Tue) 06:09:05 75da2c No. 1954
>>1952 Probably because it's his face. Which I agree with to some extent. That's like one of two design rules and really shouldn't be messed with unless there's a good reason for it. I'm in favor of other things besides a beard anyway.
Anonymous 03/31/15 (Tue) 06:24:36 f9deb2 No. 1960
>>1953 >>1954 There is so much beard there you might as well call it a mask.
Anonymous 03/31/15 (Tue) 06:33:13 bc40bd No. 1961
>>1960 It still defines a face due to the mustache line. To really be a mask it's got to be the afro of beards kind of overgrown. That doesn't seem like your style so at this point I'd recommend the skeleton/curse thing.
Anonymous 03/31/15 (Tue) 06:35:23 bc40bd No. 1963
>>1962 Yeah that's cool. Try giving him spooky glowy eyes and maybe obscure half of the teeth in shadows? I know shadings not your primary thing but it gives it a slightly subtle quality. Like you could maybe confuse him for a 'normal' knight at an angle or from a distance.
Anonymous 03/31/15 (Tue) 06:38:09 b8042d No. 1964
>>1962 Can you make his armour a little weathered, worn, and busted? Nothing too dramatic just to add to its character.
Anonymous 03/31/15 (Tue) 06:39:15 f9deb2 No. 1965
>>1963 Considering the bleached bones I'm putting I think it'll be easy to spot but as for the earlier submission I think I'll save it for later, maybe in an extra section.
>>1964 Sure why not?
Anonymous 03/31/15 (Tue) 06:40:53 bc40bd No. 1966
>>1965 Another thing you can try is bandaging half of his lower face instead. Like he tried to hide it a bit but the wrappings got damaged on one end revealing his undead nature.
Anonymous 03/31/15 (Tue) 06:50:23 f9deb2 No. 1967
>>1966 >>1963 >>1964 What do you think?
Anonymous 03/31/15 (Tue) 06:55:23 bc40bd No. 1968
>>1967 There's something really striking about viking undead. I like it, and it stands out from Berserker Knight this way.
Also we might need a new thread. Since this one hit bump limit.
