What is your favorite font?
Mine is Interstate.

>I like comic sans
Microsoft added an italic recently. Comic Sans actually isn't bad for its original use, which was a comic font meant to be displayed at small sizes.
The outlines are very awkward at large sizes because of this, actually.

JollyGood is a nice Comic Sans MS alternative meant for displaying at large sizes.

I am obviously not a typography type of person, but what is wrong with comic sans? Is it just overuse? Or is there something totally unprofessional about it?
I personally really like monospaced fonts, they line up nicely for programming tasks.
if I write a story or something, I just let latex do whatever it does.

Good taste. Out of all the new webfonts that one and Roboto are the best.

It's a joke sort of thing taken to the limit and beyond by normies.
As for fonts I like, I've taken a liking to Segoe UI.
Aside from getting used to it because I use a Windows Phone, it just looks great for minimalist crap.
If I want something for headers, I'd use the font the NES box art uses, if I only knew the name of the font.

Design fags only like typography because they have no creativity/foundations and cant come up with good layouts.
So they latch onto muh typography as if letter spacing really makes that much of a difference.

I guess Verdana. I'm not too into fonts, though, so there are probably 10,000 others I'd like better that I've never heard of.

A hundred times this. Nowadays most people go for the "hurr durr comic sans is a shit font" meme and ignore the true abortion: Papyrus.
Back to favorite fonts: Cambria. I'm a sucker for slab serifs.

Gill Sans, the font of the BBC.
Transport/New Transport, the font of UK road signs. I find it a bit more polite than the Highway Gothic we use in the States.
P22 Johnston Underground, font of the London Underground and the basis of the Sherlock title font.
But most of all, Voluta Script, the baroque font used for the credits in the opening title sequence of an obscure, short-lived sic-fi series called "Firefly." The actual title font itself is bespoke to the logo, unfortunately. I've adopted the style of the uppercase letters to my own cursive handwriting. Very swoopy and fun, but tricky to master.

For some reason I just fucking hate Gill Sans. It just looks so terrible. It looks like what would happen if you told a random school age kid to cut letters out of construction paper for an art project.
Gill Sans cannot go out of fashion quickly enough.
