>Who is Nobuo Uematsu?
He's known as the man who composed all of the original Final Fantasy music, from 1 to 10 and some of 14.

>Rules?

This board is for Nobuo Uematsu, his musical work, and games that he's done music for, but mainly about his music.

Try to find a corresponding thread related to what you want to talk about before attempting to create a new thread of your own. :DDDD

I need banners for the board! I can have up to 50 of them!

If you wish to contribute, here is the criteria you must follow:
>Banners must be < 500KB and have image dimensions 300px x 100px
>PNG preferred, but might make an exception if you make a really high-quality JPEG. You can do GIF too, so long as you follow the <500KB rule and it looks good!
>Make it Nobuo Uematsu related (himself, one of his bands, or a franchise that he has done music for)
>include "/uematsu/" in the banner. make sure it's lower-case u in the /uematsu/

Pic is a good example

>The Black Mages was a Japanese instrumental rock/hard rock band formed in 2002 by Nobuo Uematsu, Kenichiro Fukui and Tsuyoshi Sekito - three composers for Square Enix. The band arranged Uematsu's Final Fantasy video game series-based compositions in a rock style often similar to progressive metal, achieved with the additional use of synthesizers.[1] Since its inception, the band had expanded to six members with the addition of Keiji Kawamori, Michio Okamiya and Arata Hanyuda. On August 7, 2010, Nobuo Uematsu announced the band had disbanded, but he would continue to perform rock arrangements of his music as a part of another band, the Earthbound Papas.

What are your guys' favorite Black Mages songs? Your favorite album?

My favorite album of the three has definitely got to be "The Black Mages 2 : The Skies Above." Every damn song of that album is pure 100% gold. That isn't to say that the 1st and 3rd albums aren't great, they're spectacular, but that 2nd album goes above and beyond.

I'll try to find the youtube embed setting.

I've never heard these covers before. I'll give them a listen sometime.

You can't listen to peaceful songs all the time, sometimes you need something powerful and energetic :D

If you know anybody else who appreciates Uematsu music, send them here. It would be nice if this board became something. Unfortunately, among my friends, I'm the only one who listens to his music.

I love the classic Final Fantasy soundtracks to death, they're so good.

Which FF game do you think has the best music? What are some of your favorites? Which songs would you like to see redone Black Mages-style?

>Earthbound Papas is a band performing songs and interpretations of music from video games, mainly the Final Fantasy series. Nobuo Uematsu, the famous composer of music in the Final Fantasy series, formed the band after his previous band, The Black Mages, disbanded.

I love the Earthbound Papas. If you're coming off of The Black Mages, it'll take you a little time to adjust to the new feel that these songs have, but you'll find that they're just as emotionally touching.

There are two albums right right now, "Octave Theory" and "Dancing Dad." They're so close that it's hard to choose a favorite, but the Dancing Dad album has the best version of the classic FF6 final boss song "Dancing Mad." This song will blow your mind:
