Hell if I know. But at least it's the one thing the devs got right, even though it was basically the one thing they had to get right in order to be at least somewhat of an authentic Mad Max experience. Too bad the rest of it is pure fluff. I think the last game before it that was alright for vehicular combat was Twisted Metal but that was as far back as like 2012? 2013? And had fuck all content when it came to anything other than the multiplayer.

Because ubi is retarded and thinks that shotguns shouldn't do locational bonus damage but should do reduced locational damage.

Also the GIGN and GSG9 shotguns have more pellets while the FBI and the KGB shotgun shoot way fewer. Generally auto shotguns just fire fewer pellets which means massively less damage per shot.

Kind of the reason why I usually enjoy the early part of the game way more than the late game. It's all wrong way around. When you're new to the game and still shitty you're forced to play with some peashooter with next to no ammo. Then as the game progresses not only do you get good at the game but you also got practically infinite amount of ammunition and the game starts to feel really easy since there's no scarcity of supply at all like in the early parts of the game.

It should be the other way around. You start with full gear and as the game progresses you get less and less supplies until in the late stages of the game you got basically nothing and you're forced to improvise and make do with whatever you can find. This way you'd actually be forced to use those grenades and other secondary stuff instead of just killing everyone with the standard assault rifle and maybe blast one guy with a grenade launcher just for laughs.

It probably doesn't track specific guards dying, just how many you killed in a particular way (eg headshot death, choking death, etc). I wonder what would happen if you eg use a hex editor to set the numbers to impossibly high, like in the thousands, and bump into the sorrow, if the fight would be incredibly long

Ronin. It released on GoG a couple years ago so you can find a torrent easily enough. Honestly, it's not a great game in hindsight; I would describe it as a high-budget Flash game. Despite the objective lack of quality, it's fun and varied enough that jumping around levels and sneaking into the perfect ambush spot felt engaging and meaningful.

The "studio" is literally two guys in Poland, so you get what you pay for. The art was done by the Skyrim Lockpick Animation guy, which I thought was a pretty funny coincidence.

There's also a short comic that came with the special edition, which I have lying around somewhere. I'll see if I can post it.

In combat games, on levels with TONS of enemies, being able to destroy every single last one of them and/or finding the triggers that progress the level and preventing or avoiding them.

For example on the Battle of Endor level in the best games ever made, Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II, there are two sections. The first is fighting a massive swarm of TIE fighters and the second is fighting two Star Destroyers. In the first section, TIE Bombers come and once you destroy the last of those, the mission progresses to the second section. If you keep your wingmen in formation or tell them to flee, the TIE Bombers won't be attacked. If you destroy all but one or two yourself, they will take ages to do enough damage to the Medical Frigate to where you fail the mission. You can then happily fly around and destroy every regular TIE and TIE Interceptor.

In the second section, Home One can take enough damage from the Star Destroyers to fail the mission (TIEs do no significant damage). If you destroy the 4 big guns on each Star Destroyer facing Home One, and then destroy all the small turrets on the underside of the front of each, Home One takes no more damage and you can then take your time dogfighting and autistically destroying every small turret. Super cozy.

-rendered shell casings

-different sounds for where shell casings land

-different sounds for gunfire depending on environment

-semi-destructibility

-area looks like a smoky haze of bullet holes, spent shell casings and dead bodies after firefight

I can name, off the top of my head, one or two games that basically fit a few of these at once. F.E.A.R. has everything except lasting gun smoke/gas effects and I can barely remember another game that had great gas/smoke effects but almost none of the other stuff. Fallout 4, ironically, has a bit of this especially with mods.

I want a game - ideally something Western for optional black-powder weapons - where you have a firefight and the place looks like there's been a firefight there for at least the next 10 minutes. Most games you have a firefight and by the time you run around the building the only indication is the one body that didn't despawn.

It shows up in movies from time to time, but almost no games do it.

Oh god, I didn't even think about this but it's almost orgasmic when you notice it in game!

>>15051841

Indeed. What I consider the greatest difference world-wise between that and the 3d Fallout games is that in Mad Max you had a vehicle to move around with. Fallout games always have you walking around, so they have to condense everything to literally within walking distance or the traveling would get even more tedious.

>>15053402

>game starts you off with absolutely no gear

>wear literally anything that you can get your hands on in an attempt to not die

I absolutely agree. Looting in most games just gets boring once you have a decent gear, but in the beginning just finding a rusty helmet and a pointy stick feels like your chances of survival just got a little better. Jagged Alliance 1 kept this going through the whole game, as there was no way to shop gear and you had to scavenge every bit of gear and ammo yourself from the beginning to the end.

>>15097135

>Side character in game tracks strange things like how many times you whacked you head on wooden signs or slipped on bananas and rewards you with joke weapons.

My favorite must be when about halfway through Mad Max I still kept getting in cars from the left door because that's where the driving wheel in most countries is, and exasperated Chumbucket finally said "Have you no remembrance of where the steering wheel is located? It cannot be alien to one sent by an Angel? Surely you test my faith?"

Likewise when enemies just start to realize that you are a serious threat, like in Half Life 1 where Gordon went from being just one scientist to be killed to a personal enemy of the entire military.

Also:

>When you finish the game and you get access to options that let you completely destroy it.

>tfw your vehicle is beaten to pulp with several systems destroyed but you still manage to finish the mission and get it home safely.

>The last weapon of the game is something ludicrously overpowered.

>Likewise when enemies just start to realize that you are a serious threat

Iji did this perfectly, with the main character going from being considered a "human anomaly" to aliens delaying the destruction of earth until either the human anomaly is captured or the casualties at fighting her reach one million.

It also has a mentionable easter egg in the form of scrambler - a human language translator an alien hacker had been working on until one update broke it completely. Finding the scrambler and turning it on from the options replaces all the dialogue in the game with broken google-translate style gibberish.

You can get the game here for free if you're interested: http://www.remar.se/daniel/iji.php

I liked how SWAT 4 gave you four full magazine and you could switch between them.

So if you had 10 rounds left in your first magazine, then after 4 or so magazine changes you went back to you first one with only 10 rounds in it.

There is also Mafia 1 where you will completely discard all rounds left in the magazine if you change it too early.

I absolutely love cheesy shit like super powered transformation scenes, or bosses seemingly overpowering you, just for you to get back up and beat the shit out of them.

I like it even more in video games than in manga or anime, because with video games you get a feeling of controlling the character and doing something. Not to mention that, if the game is nice and long, you've been able to connect the the characters by controlling them for 60+ hours.

One of the best moments I've had in any game was when I was playing with friends and we're all standing near one of the turrets and over voice chat I tell them "You know, he's standing right in front of us cloaked, right?" The Wii version did become a sales success because of the Wii having the young audience (as their first console) to buy it and possibly being cheap to manufacture with the Wii Remote being used for button/tilt inputs and wireless transmission output.

The 360/PS3 version needed its own hardware/button inputs/wireless made for it (makes cost go up) and then had no (young) audience to buy it (why draw on a console when you could do it better on a PC).

Have you looked at the price of silver right now, anon?

>Now:

>Gold: $1,234.18

>Silver: $15.54

>NASDAQ: $7,820.20

>5 years ago:

>Gold: $1,129.06

>Silver: $10.79

>NASDAQ: $3,613.16

What this means is that the over the last 5 years, assuming the NASDAQ is accurate and hasn't been manipulated to appear more stable than it actually is, the purchasing power over the last 5 years has basically halved, since it more or less represents the value (in USD) of various commodities.

Throughout history, silver has historically traded at approximately 12 oz : 1 oz gold. Right now it's trading at 80 oz: 1 oz gold, so it is massively undervalued. Basically it's severely undervalued for what it normally is, and it should heavily increase to match the 12:1 ratio with gold (with gold possibly increase or decreasing slightly to match economic demand).

Gold is stable because it is used in jewelry and reclaimed, silver is constantly used all the time in many many consumer products and gets worked back into the environment, as well as having a limited supply, with experts estimating profitable silver mines to deplete by as early as 2030.

Basically, silver looks like such a good investment to me, that I'm going to dump $4,000 into it this week and wait 5, 10, 20 years for it to spike, and when it does, it wouldn't be unreasonable to get back 2x, 5x, even 10x my investment if I wait long enough.

Polite sage for offtopic.

When I first saw the cutscene that plays when you visit Melia in her garden was grey skies and raining and somehow felt appropriate for the somber mood of that part of the story. After viewing other videos of that same scene, I seen one at night and another at night with "falling stars" weather effect in the background. My third account is still going strong, and while I miss a few things about my original (particularly my lifetime sub) I'm still reasonably content with how it's turned out. It's going to definitely be a lesson to me to not let people find out what shit I get up to in my autistic climbing of that mountain, so some good came of it.

When you increase a stat and your animation slightly speeds up.

(Versus having to increase your stat to an arbitrary level to see any difference)

Ie: you can't weild the super duper power axe until you have 45 STRG. Doesn't matter if you have 10 STRG or 43 STRG.

Id prefer if it would slowly increase my swing speed as my STRG increased.

With takedowns like those W_D ones, it should actually let you click to fire the gun. It'll hit wherever it's pointing at the time (too early, and you shoot them in the leg), and if you don't click to fire, they'll break free a fraction of a second after the animation is done, or counter and shoot you. Recoil should be take into effect, delaying the overall animation, and letting you perform the Djibouti Shooty on people if you time it well. Good gore would be absolutely critical, you need to make it visceral and satisfying.

High-level enemies will break the animation long before it ends and you absolutely need to shoot them immediately, even if it's just in the leg, to shock them long enough to pull off a lethal shot.
