>Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon PS4, Switch, and PS Vita limited run physical edition announced

A physical release is better than none. It is unusual that they weren't able to do a digital copy when indie games are one of the other features of the system.

>Unofficial translation patches for Blue Reflection and Steins;Gate Elite released

And as usual they are mirrored in the OP.

Not specified in OP last time, so I'll also spotlight that there is a 3.69 and 3.70 jailbreak prepared but not disclosed. It is also possible to downgrade on 3.68 and lower in most situations. Game firmware version requirements are also totally irrelevant thanks to reF00D. Modernize your system!

Maybe? I recall some indie game getting canned even though it was obligated to get a Vita port due to backers.

How much were you installing with something as slow as pkgj? In any case starting over seems appropriate, assuming the SD isn't ruined. Even regular ones don't like frequent writes.

That was deliberate! It's likely to see updates during the thread's lifetime, and I hate the pattern in other threads where people keep posting old infographics, it even happened here with the 4chan chart.

>Hitman Go save corrupted.

3c16a9  No.16278758

I don't know if it was Sony going overboard with DRM on the memory cards or just lazy, shitty devs, but I've had several Vita games get their saves corrupted. Overwriting the card's save with a backup from my PC usually fixed it, but there were one or two times when it just didn't work, and the data was lost. It's one of the few complaints I've had about the system in the years I've owned it.

7649f9  No.16278822

I looked up the error on line and it seems mysterious as to why it appears.

I don't mind as much with Hitman since I've forgotten how to play it and wasn't that far in but I'm concerned about my Peace Walker save as well as P4G, I have backups though.

Did a database rebuild from safe mode and things seem to be running fine.

bd3ddc  No.16279598

Yes, you're referring to Ritual of the Night. Curse of the Moon is available on the Vita digitally(for 10 bucks), and it is the game getting the LRG release.

That's a generic error code you got. You can get it in response to a lot of things.

File: 17ef402fc1fbc4d⋯.jpg (35.93 KB, 640x360, 16:9, mpv-shot0365.jpg)

That error code is pretty non-specific (literally "An error occurred in the following applications.") and in my experience it's happened due to:

- Standard application bugs.

- Transient error, reboot the system and it goes away.

- Historic issue with certain DLC and rePatch, now fixed.

- General data corruption. SD is not the most reliable. Official memory cards rot even worse.

Greetings fellow vitafags. My imported japanese vita arrived with firmware 3.61, and it's pretty clear that it's default firmware is lower based on the packaging that comes with it saying "2015". I'm trying to follow the vita.hacks guide, however the latest Final-He sends h-encore to my vita but it doesn't work and just turns off my system.

I have no idea how good gal gun double peace is but the beat em up neptunia spin offs are pretty mediocre, if you want similar games there's shinovi versus, estival versus, croixleur sigma, valkyrie drive and the two fate games, one of them came out in english 2 days ago.

a97f13  No.16283032

I was following instructions. It was because the latest FinalHE doesn't do upgrades for 3.61. Anyways, it was painless after using qcma.

It's my backup vita, and its currently sitting in its box from full charge. Is there a better way to store it for future use? I know the batteries are cheap, however I'd like to keep it at good health for now.

I advise neither, but admittedly I have a fair like of GGDP and have played both much more than they deserve. Pirate first if anything.

This one hurts. I like the series and its core idea a lot but it could be pushed a lot further than any of the games have, primarily there is room for enemy variety in the different girl archetypes but they all act largely the same. Its Vita version also has terrible framerates, though this is alleviated with overclocking.

>Nep AU

Nepran Kagura. This one's weird because I played this more than any of the actual Senran Kagura games, but that's probably because I like Neptunia, and also that it took zero effort to complete given it can be defeated with button mashing. It's not good. The other one that is Blanc's game is a bit better to play but infinitely worse in every other respect, notably no clothing damage (!) and poor Blanc is making some crappy zombie movie (!!!).

FinalHE isn't QCMA, anyway as long as nothing bad happened I'm fine with it. Also drain the battery to about half if you intend to not use it for a while.

The mainline games are already mediocre. They probably would of been better off improving on them instead of making shitty spinoffs.

You can skip some animations in Hyperdevotion and toggle a few things to be faster, but no its pace is pretty slow, which is part of the reason I dropped the difficulty. I don't like losing 10-20 minutes on a failed stage and some of them are pretty ruthless on hard. Even on easy you don't want to get complacent.

For better or worse in terms of discussion, our Vita generals have a culture of doing it. But that's not true on 4/vg/ where you aren't allowed to talk about it except in their hacking general, and of course, being a catch-all the documentation and help for Vita is nowhere near the standards of here. Same deal with their game infographic.

69de81  No.16287303

>Sony knew what to do and they decided against

It's a prototype. Prototypes use off-the-shelf parts because the specialized hardware is expensive to manufacture when all you want to do is experiment with how the entire system is supposed to work together in a basic setting. They could have decided to have proprietary memory cards before making the first designs on paper and their early prototypes would still have used just regular SD cards and HMDI outs.

Figured it might be worth mentioning that from my experiences with the Vita port of AM2R, there seems to be a general crash that happens after X amount of time (I'd guess maybe an hour of the game application running, but would have to actually time it to be sure), but there also seems to be more and more frequent crashing as you progress, namely once you get the Gravity Suit and are underwater. Beyond that, the boss that appears after getting the Ice Beam seems to despawn once it goes offscreen, leaving the player locked in the room. Maybe it's just the version I've been playing, but combined with it being "Another Monster 2 Remake" starring Sarah and other offbrand names, I'm more than a bit soured on this port of the game.

Anyhow, I just thought I'd mention it if the guy running the gitgud wants to add further notes about the ports issues, or maybe remove it entirely from the homebrew section. Just feels like a shame since when it's functioning right it's a lot of fun, but these issues are really ugly when they crop up.

ce509e  No.16294172

Since you bring that up, clarify something. Does saving actually save immediately? Because by default, RetroArch will not actually write saves to storage until you exit the game. So if it crashes, any "saved" progress is forfeit. This isn't Vita-specific and it's done for good reason, but given it's more likely to crash on Vita it probably needs noting too. Not sure if this applies to save states.

>Now if only they were a competent fucking company

9d091f  No.16294585

You step on a save station, it saves and heals at the same time (and there's a message in the bottom right outright telling you the game has been saved). Being a port, the game isn't using an emulator, so there's no "you have to exit the game/emulator" to retain progress deal. When it crashes, the game immediately boots back to the splash screen you get when selecting the icon, and any unsaved progress is automatically lost. Think like when you hit the home button, but when you click back on the game it doesn't resume.

This is as far as i made it before dying, if the dragons don't kill you outright the orcs with assault rifles will stunlock you to death or just enough for a tank to finish you off.

One of those hori grips, PS1 games give me handcramps, but i'm broke right now.

You mean people don't get a vita exclusively to pirate?

I'm playing it right now, it's a good game but the translation patch is kind of shitty, the two translated videos (opening and intro) tend to crash the game funnily enough anyone who reports this issue in the gbatemp thread gets its comment deleted, so the creator is aware but simply doesn't want to fix it, so delete them from the patch folder if your game hangs after the "this game autosaves by default" screen, they're mp4 files so you can watch them on your computer if you want.

About the game itself. the gameplay is solid, you can customize your characters to a certain degree (just clothes so far), there's a fuckton of cute girls in the game and you can fulfill their requests to impress them and they will give you their panties and love letters in return. There's a model viewer in your apartment for every single girl whose love letter you obtain their tits bounce if you shake your vita, god bless takaki, on top of that there's another 10 or so "support queens" that give you different skills in battle and whose clothes you can change, healing mid-fight is done via picking up love letters, and if a punk interrupts you there's a special animation where you fight back but end up accidentally shoving your face between the girl's tits/ass. The plot is also charmingly stupid, it's about two guys who feel like they've wasted their entire youth with mobage and petty criminal shit even though they're only 17, and after witnessing just how many cute girls there are in town the main character fell for a mysterious girl with glasses they decide to become popular so they can fuck them.

Told you so. No idea how I pushed through it but it was kind of worth it for the last stage being totally non-functional. Literally, the boss vanishes and you win. That's only on Hard too, it functions on Phantasia if you hate yourself. The series should have stayed on Vita, it's usually a fact that PS4->Vita ports suck but this is in a class of its own.

The browser might be but you can still just use the database separate of any application. Significantly faster than messing with any software and big bonus of being platform independent.

As for RB2, worth trying if you like RB1 but YMMV depending on whether you like the sisters and its generally darker nature. I personally skipped to RB3, and though I did eventually finish a playthrough of RB2 it took a few false starts and was specifically to see the infamous ending. Avoid falling to this. b2f05a  No.16312170

Nice, FOSSanon. Have you managed to get exFAT working decently enough? For the time being I rely on a win7 VM because the dkms exfat driver I'm using isn't working well.

d3d426  No.16312204

exFAT works fine in my experience when I need to copy to/from my PSVSD (Debian Stable). What doesn't is the weird filesystem used on the internal storage and official memory cards. Mounting those on USB requires some external Linux kernel module ported from Android which doesn't actually work. But FTP is all you need there.

b2f05a  No.16312219

The vita cards use exFAT but do some trickery on it (also use a nonstandard sector size iirc) so that's probably why it doesn't work just like regular windows-formatted exFAT microSD cards.

I've been relying on FTP, but big files are a pain, so that's where the USB mode shines - sadly only windows can work well with that.

d3d426  No.16312265

What is used internally and on official memory cards is not exFAT. It's a totally different filesystem. So FTP's problems are basically irrelevant if you are doing the sane thing and using storage redirection. No exaggeration, if you are using an official memory card, and it isn't to initially jailbreak or for recovery, you're doing it wrong.

I'd say having all the DLCs available would be ideal, even if I agree the total fee amount can be retarded. SK Estival Versus JP lacks a lot of DLCs for instance, and the whole collection for that game alone goes up to 15k yen. Koei Tecmo is also terrible at this in general.

There are a lot of first-print DLCs for JP physical releases too. Which i managed to share a couple of them on the database, such as Mary Skelter (if I recall right, it adds a whole class), EDF2 Portable (only got the 4th and 6th dlc weapon however from a cheap dual pack), Atelier Rorona, Meruru, Escha&Logy and Shallie Plus; Ar NoSurge, Macross Delta, and the 5pb VNs New Game! & Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka.

Something that Sony should have done better in the download list layout was to separate the DLCs into another category, because it quickly becomes a fucking mess to browse. At least the JP store layout is far easier to navigate than its EU equivalent, either be on Vita or on desktop.

Jesus. Better PS Store application, period. pkgj beats the pants off it.

I don't know if you can mix pirated and non-pirated games and DLC, but the only time you use decrypted stuff these days is with rePatch and mods. With NoNpDrm as the current copying standard the actual base game/update/DLC is 1:1 with how it is with a legitimate game, except for a fake license.

I don't like how case #3 was forced, much like V3's case #1, but I enjoyed how it played out. I have softened my opinion on #6 a bit over time.

I'd have to disagree, even putting aside its dodgy localization. Not as likeable characters, and thinking back on case #5 parts of it don't make sense and it feels needlessly convoluted even if I thought the central twist was neat. Strangely I didn't feel down on the meta ending to it even as controversial as it was. Case #1 though was spiteful and again, forced. I will speak good of its gameplay and debate changes though for the most part. On a technical level it does some stupid things like low bitrate voices, and videos with horrible artifacting, I'd like to know if this is an issue unique to localization for doubling up the voices.

Kind of cute ideas, in practice not so well realized.

They're the DB links yeah. Vita's got a bunch of separate ones.

Not even they're that pathetic, they have a sub devoted to Vita piracy and I'm pretty sure co-ordinated most of the NPS work.

a76b91  No.16322549

>Not even they're that pathetic

No, he's right. That's exactly how reddit operates. The vitapiracy sub gets around it because Sony doesn't give a shit about Vita. Anyway, in theory this place is the same as per global rules. It's just not enforced (and we're being much smarter than reddit about it, see share threads).

d3d426  No.16322587

As a whole, yeah, no question. I can't stand its format or its general community. But they also have an equivalent for 3DS. Apparently they have one for general piracy too that's in question though and may end up getting shut down.

Generally speaking though, linking to where things are should not be illegal, but of course scummy people have as in MPAA v. 2600 historically, over a website linking to DeCSS, the program for stripping CSS off of DVDs. They were far from the only target, and what's especially ironic is CSS doesn't even work for copy protection, it's purely to control who can manufacture DVD players and regional lock-out. So it shouldn't even be considerable under DMCA's "anti-circumvention" clauses.

Alright, I'm gonna talk about Danganronpa 2. I just finished it and wanna give my thoughts because I'm an autist who likes to basically review games and talk about them in meaty depth with people

Expect heavy spoilers so don't hover if you care

I'd probably give this game an… 8.2/10 or something if I had to use an arbitrary rating system.

It just did not do much for me.

One thing I'll comment on right now… the dub was about above average; its basically a Bleach reunion though, which is fine for me but I think I'd have preferred going through with subs, especially since DR1's dub was so goddamn awful, and its sub was absolutely great.

I played the first 2 chapters of DR2 with subs but a friend absolutely raved to me about the dub and to play with it so I figured why not, but there are a few voices that just aren't that good, or decent but unfitting. Still overall fine I guess. I'd go more in-depth on a per character basis but maybe I'll do that later.

The localization was… while I didn't feel anything too egregious pop out at me, it was just sort of bland with the usual NISA feeling of low effort. Hard to describe but I feel this really affected my enjoyment of the game for some reason in a way that's hard to convey.

One thing that was definitely huge in hurting it was the island setting. I understand why they went with it, especially towards the end with a surprisingly cohesive reasoning and backbone, but the crushingly dark ambiance and atmosphere I felt in DR1 was mostly ruined by this by comparison, especially with how traveling and movement turning into tedious sidescrolling generally works combining with it just… really hurt its ability to be emotionally hard-hitting when it needed to be.

You aren't really made to feel claustrophobic in any way, everything is pretty and nice and rarely in a jarring or disturbing way, more like in a mitigating way towards any seriousness. The sheer openness of the game really cost it in this case. I remember the sheer tenseness of having to travel to the goddamn bathroom in Danganronpa 1 and shit like that intensely. With this game… I feel like I've forgotten most of it despite having just played it. There's almost no moments like that. When you discover a body, its just not that big of a deal or done in a way to shock. There was only one body discovery to me in the whole game that did a Danganronpa 1-tier shock and that was in Chapter 4. The execution for chapter 5 was… frustrating to watch as well so that was good, in a bitter, fist-clenching way.

Its characters were decent enough. My favorite girl was Mikan. Nidomaru was a bro, lots of solid designs and interesting backstories and whatnot all around, though their talents didn't feel like they were utilized or involved in the cases and shit nearly as much as they were in 1 for some reason. Still good though so I can't really complain too much.

I hate to criticize it so much, it was a fine game and I enjoyed it and would recommend it for a play through; it starts to get rolling by chapter 4 and redeem itself to at least an extent. There feels like a lot that could've been "improved" not necessarily from an objective standpoint but at least from my own tastes and perspectives coming from Danganronpa 1.

But there are ways it could've been improved objectively.

Please. Why did they have to reuse nearly all the tracks? Danganronpa 1's tracks were great but reusing them feels… frustrating and not fun at all with how much they did it. I wanted to hear new tracks and instead I got almost nothing. A pretty shameful display. Not even any notable improvements on tracks or anything.

It was really disappointing too when I was expecting some new shit, especially for the closing arguments.

I loved how it felt in Danganronpa 1, but for fuck's sake they couldn't add in new music for 2?

It gets cheap, they can't fucking coast of DR1 forever and its disgusting to me to see it if I'm being honest. It makes me mad because of how much better it could've been with new tracks.

I have to point out but Nagito's writing was stellar. A very well-crafted character, and he does a decent job (and use) of showing the strength of the writing later on in the game.

>setting and movement

This did bug me in a few places but mostly with #3 and #5. The rest are usually sectioned into the more traditional point-and-click bits reminiscent of the first game with their major events. #3's island as a setting counter-balanced that somewhat though for how bleak it is and what was going wrong at the time. I'll point out I rarely used fast travel in play.

You don't lose a huge amount with the regular dialogue. The trials are fully voiced though, and for me, aside from leaning towards JP voices since they usually are a straight upgrade (fucking Neptunia), I like picking up on Engrish and language puns where I can ("Tsubitchi").

Brutal honesty, I'm just going by reputation, and some of the V3 examples. I can only pick up occasional bits of Japanese. But 2 is generally considered to be less good. I wouldn't say 1 looked perfect though. None of this stopped me from playing all 4 though since some translation beats none.

>Why did they have to reuse nearly all the tracks?

Sadly they do a fair bit of this in V3 as well but mostly the class trial ones, while the rest are fresher. UDG has a fair bit more original, but, not in a good way.

>didn't do much for me

352ec5  No.16326912

Alright, finally woke up. Guess I'll continue. I'll try to make this one more positive but I still have plenty of criticism to lay on the game.

For one thing, the ending was good. Very good. Not Danganronpa 1 tier, but it wasn't too far even if some basic concepts were sort of resalvaged/reused. It felt like sort of a slog with its sheer length but it was worth it.

I really regret having to hear Junko's voice in the dub though. Goddamn that was atrocious. –She– sounded amateurish and tried far too hard. Made me appreciate DR1's sub over dub far more.

But yes, the parts of the ending I liked the most. Destroying the false words of those Fake Hajimes/Kamakuras with Chiaki's word was cathartic, and destroying all those words of despair in the end with "the future" with an empowered Hajime… fuck it was good. Call me cheesy or whatever all you want but I can't stop loving that. That ending scene really redeemed the entire game for me, and almost makes me want to rate it higher just because of the fond, powerful memory. The intensity and despair as you realize such a horrible choice for the protagonist. Imagine how fucking unfair that fucking is for Hajime.Someone who thought he could have hope. Someone who's dreams were crushed… he has to choose whether or not he fucking existed? Its easy to sacrifice for the world until you realize that its your own. That revelation was heartbreaking, especially watching his whole breakdown and realizing his fear. Chiaki coming through… You probably could've seen it coming but that doesn't reduce its impact at all. The final rebuttal showdown with Junko too, cathartic.

Those eyes he has in the end too… Hm. Just goddamn.

For what happens in 5, it was gratifying to see Monomi finally grow a goddamn pair. Someone treating Monokuma in a way that got to him just felt… good. The ending sequence as well where Monomi comes out of nowhere and gives a pounding to Junko… damn. Just fucking, damn. It made my heart pump and feel so good

Chapter 4 was a huge deal for the story and a major turning point and basically the foundation for the rest of the game

Everything before 4 honestly felt like filler. With the revelations of the ending and Nagito you could say it wasn't; it gives some explanations but it still doesn't change that feeling to me which is annoying.

This is still sort of stream-of-consciousness since i only finished it last night and just woke up but I'll continue in another post since

>body too long

>#3 and 5

Why did it bug you in those cases?

This game never really felt bleak to me until chapter 4, at least compared to DR1.

However, my perspective might be warped coming from playing Trillion (and being forced to take a hiatus from it because it was so goddamn tragic; I never do that and play story-heavy games while in the middle of a playthrough but aside from Homm2 in January I hadn't played a video game in months because of it and too many factors made me hesitate with continuing).

If you mean that 3 was more bleak than the others at the start… that's fair. The Despair disease was a pretty crazy thing. The idea of it was pretty cool, and it really did create some intensity. The most unnerving thing was seeing Ibuki in the halls late at night with a certain expression on her face. I was a little creeped out and excited about the possibility of something good. The system they were forced to create was great.

However, that's about all that's done with it in my opinion.

#3's scheme was absolutely fantastic in terms of its depth and complexity but you figure out who the killer is pretty early on in the trial and just make it a foregone conclusion that just moves to that point. Same with 2. The tells they made were just so obvious.

It was frustrating in #3's case, it felt like such a waste.

I will admit I was very frustrated with it at first, both because they took my best girl from me and they made her a fucking monster for seemingly no reason with a weak as fuck motive but the later writing sort of explained things a little bit better and made it stronger as a whole. It still doesn't change how annoying it was, just that I can appreciate it a little more in retrospect.

Ironically for #4, the setting felt completely forced (in fact it literally was… such a cheap motive) but it did what it accomplished to do and basically set things up for the rest of the game

352ec5  No.16326965

I just do not agree with this post at all.

1 and 2 sucked pretty horribly for me.

4 was good, though the setting was forced. 5 was… okay.

6 was good.

I can't say any of them really matched up to DR1 though. 4 and 6 were close, 5 was decent.

3 was okay, but it was also the worst to me for reasons I put in my other post

Anyways, continuing.

I liked many of the characters in this one as well, possibly more of the cast than even the original. Either quality, design, fondness or curiosity for them and their pasts definitely helped a lot

My own lists

>Ibuki (though it feels like her character was wasted)

>Junko for her incredible villainy, not because I actually like her. I despise her so greatly

>Sakura (especially for her relationship with Asahina)

>Alter Ego… god this was a big one for me

>even Maizono I had a thing for somehow

Oh, and I guess Gundham and Hagakure were excellent comic reliefs. Though I was especially surprised in the former's role in 4… Unexpected as all fuck

The motives definitely felt weak though for chapters 1, 2, 3 without context of the further story… and I still don't completely like it even after the revelations, and 4.

I'm trying to figure out what I haven't talked about yet but I'm struggling to think of appropriate aspects of the game.

The new rebuttal battle option in trials? Its okay.

The closing arguments thing? I don't know why but it feels different from 1 in a way that worsens it a little, maybe it isn't at all but I just don't like it as much as I did in 1, might have to do with the deaths lacking meaning and impact compared to 1.

I'll be honest, in 1 I was weeping like a bitch or genuinely taken so far aback that it hurt. In 2 I didn't really feel much for most of the game except 4, the ending of 5, and 6.

I was salty about 3, but it lost impact, and the execution was horrible in a boring, impactless way.

Man I'm shitting on it too much.

I'm trying to think what I haven't talked about yet.

>fast travel

I used fast travel more as the game went on, at the beginning I was fretting about that inane pet function but eventually I got the hang of it and could handle it without caring too much. Got a full-hope monomi done. Ironically I killed my last pet through despair because I just completely forgot about it during chapter 0/6.

>l wouldn't say 1 looked perfect though

I didn't play the NISA version, I played the fanslation which was nice enough.

>trials are fully voiced though

Pretty much the same in 2.

The point and click are fine I guess, but losing the ability for the most part to really move freely but still feel entrapped like 1 had hurts in a weird way.

>if I had to assign an arbitrary numerical rating system

It was respectable but not something that made me love it. I liked it a pretty fair amount and don't regret going through it, and it wasn't bad but yeah. When you're used to shit where an 8.5 or 8.6 is on the lower end, 8.2 isn't great. Its just fine, good. Solid enough.

Before chapter 4 I'd have given it a 6-7ish and from there things ramped up well.

If you want to disregard the rest of my post for the more easy part to shitpost about that's your prerogative and its fair to do so I guess. I want to talk about video games.

There is, and more amazingly, it's not a hardmod, and even more amazingly, it actually works well. I originally thought it was trash but that was corrected with thread_queue_size. No idea how OBS is set up, it's too much for my computer.

I'm fucking addicted to this game. The girls are all cute and will make you hnnnnngh, I actually had a hard time picking and sticking to one. Fun writing, really lighthearted overall, perfect to pick you back up after a shitty day. I still haven't finished one single run but I'm getting close.

There seems to be a lot of stuff that you can unlock but it might take a while, the game seems to be designed with multiple playthroughs in mind as it would be absolutely impossible to finish multiple routes on one single run.

It took me forever to figure out how the plush bear ducks work: You can only film one single one at a time, you try to go for multiple and it won't register them, making you waste one filming session. Boy, you better start hunting those down ASAP as they unlock a lot of stuff, all of which I've missed out on. Wish the game tutorial had explained this bit a bit more clearly (maybe my moon sucks too hard - my moon really sucks).

Making videos is fun and can be decently challenging if you're trying to make something that actually looks good. Pretty easy to get high scores on them if that's all you're looking for though. Basically it's as deep as you want it to be though you're only limited to 30 second clips. You can pause the recording session at any time and re-position yourself with a different camera angle. And there are of course events that will present you with opportunities to film, those mostly have fixed camera angles or let you zoom in and pan around with the stick a little bit. Panning with the stick doesn't work too well, using gyro to move camera around is a lot more fun.

It's probably decently possible to play this with little to no knowledge in moon but I think it would be a waste to miss out on the writing and characters since this is what the entire game is about. It's definitely fine to practice your poor moon skills on as the dialog stays relatively simple most of the time and does not go on long enough to tire you out too much, even if you have to look up a lot of stuff. I'm playing the "Blue Ocean" variant of it by the way.

I actually did this the other night. I used PotPlayer as that was super quick and simple rather than OBS. Once you've installed it just plug the Vita in open PotPlayer go into options in the top left click Open -> Open Webcam/Other Device. That's it. You'll need a separate 3.5mm to 3.5mm aux cable for sound though as the USB only does video.

Now whether it's actually playable or not I'm not so sure. The latency is pretty good considering but I tested with Downwell since I wanted something which needed quick reaction times and that was not possible. It's noticeable. But what is cool is that you can record your shit easily this way. I have my PC connected to a 60" TV as well so it's kinda nice if someone wants to watch what I'm doing and I don't need them to look over my shoulder.

I recently finished Odin Sphere and Moe Chronicles so I need a new RPG to play, How's dragon's crown if I only play single player? I am open to most recommendations.

16cb39  No.16331492

Dragon's Crown is fun no matter what because its Dragon's Crown. Its mainly because of the action though, not its story or characters.

Its fine and in single player, but everyone loves multiplayer

Its definitely emphasizes the loot, levels, skills (not like Odin Sphere though), quest and item mechanics of RPGs more than anything else so if that's what you want go for it

Can you give any more idea of what you look for or enjoy most in RPGs, what are some of your favorites and why?

be5a3c  No.16331524

I can enjoy RPGs that have shitty combat but a good story and the opposite as well, I guess that I enjoy RPGs that don't gate content behind grinding too much and let you break them by abusing their mechanics, even though I enjoy these dungeon crawlers type like Moe. Favourites are hard to pinpoint but from the top of my head: Dragon's Dogma, Persona, Dragons Age: Origins. If you consider the more action oriented Bloodborne, Nier and Witcher 2.

Not really looking for anything specific right now, just something to fill my free time.

ba1935  No.16331591

Good taste, however Vita does not have many games that are anything like those you mentioned. Maybe Soul Sacrifice Delta? I don't really know about that one as I haven't really played it.

Some other games to consider:

- Shiren 5: A roguelike, probably the best roguelike you can get on consoles. Easy to pick up and put back down thanks to suspend function when inside dungeons, etc.

- Dungeon Travelers 2: DRPG

- Disgaea 3/4: SRPG's, story can be either meh or pretty good depending on which game and your taste, lots of gameplay and grinding isn't actually something you have to do unless you want to.

- Salt and Sanctuary: Pretty fun, people call it "souls like" but it's also obviously influenced by castlevania, worth checking out.

- If you know nip, there's also Coven of Dusk, another pretty fun DRPG, imo. Localized versions are only available on PC and Switch.

be5a3c  No.16331618

I actually already played these Disgaeas on PS3 and Souls Sacrifice when it released, it's one of the only physical vita games I own; I not too keen on "souls like" so after watching a bit of Salt and Sanctuary I decided to not pick it up. I am going to check the other 3 out, thanks for the suggestions anon.

16cb39  No.16331639

For action/combat games you have the entire Ys franchise so you can't really go wrong with them. Start with Chronicles and move forward with release order is what I'd suggest, but if you just want to jump in you'd be fine with any of them I suppose. They're all pretty respectable.

Dragon's Crown and Muramasa are fun as well for action. Muramasa has more focus on plot than Dragon's Crown, and an enjoyable story but a lot less focus on the other RPG mechanics. It plays sort of like an arcade game, and its very enjoyable and high-octane. I think it has the fastest combat pace of vanillaware games.

For story focused games…

I would suggest Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth. You should be able to play the Asia-english version if you don't know Japanese. Cute girls, fun story and presentation and just a fun JRPG.

A DRPG you might like is Mary Skelter as well.

If you haven't played the Trails in the Sky trilogy, I strongly recommend that. I'm planning on playing Trails of Ao/Zero and then Cold Steel later.

The Nep games are very cute and relaxing to play through, but reasonably and surprisingly challenging, at times grindy too.

For an (3D) ARPG that mixes a pretty good story with fun combat, I hear very good things about Toukiden 2 but I haven't played that one myself

3fe233  No.16331669

So should I just make a folder in my Ux0 folder called "roms" then sort by console, then use retroarch to scan the directories?

be5a3c  No.16331717

I had completely forgot about Cyber Sleuth and Trails trilogy, I am definitely going to check Digimon but trails might be too long for em to finish even 1 game.

16cb39  No.16331770

If time is a constraint or issue, yeah I'd avoid trails for the time being.

You should basically consider Trails in the Sky like reading Lord of the Rings. You really have to finish all of them to appreciate it, which would put you at at least 130 hours or so if you take the time. Its a definite investment. Especially since you'll want to talk to the NPCs after every story event since their dialogue changes, lives move forward and stuff

Its a beautiful set of games and a true masterpiece in my eyes.

I recommended it to my little brother and he's been just gushing to me about how much he's been loving it so far; he's binged it like crazy and is on the verge of finishing SC; I dunno how many hours he's put in but it'll probably be around 100 or so between them both. Somehow he did this in what, 1-2 weeks, ridiculous

b2f05a  No.16331841

They added a downloadable patch to increase the bitrate of the voices. It's an interesting compromise, at least. The usual schtick is the UDG way: English voices as default entirely on the cart and JP voices as separate DLC. At the very least this means you can still play with the (low-rate) JP voices if you don't have internet handy. Fuck manufacturing storage limits, though. The difference between 4GB and 8GB flash in manufacturing is pennies at the most. Switch games get constantly plagued by this issue as well

I played the PS4 version on remote play to avoid the issue entirely.

Well, Masafumi's tracks are just that damn good. Honestly though, while it is cheap to reuse so much of the OST, each game still brings its own stellar tracks - the investigation music tracks standing out in particular:

>BOX 15 (later on BOX 16)

Classic, this is the first track that got stuck in my head back when playing the fan translation

Best tracks in the SDR2 soundtrack by far

>Investigation Hope/Despair

Still on a roll. Investigating is a lot more fun with these tracks.

Personal fave in DRv3 has to be Climax Reasoning, though. It's quite an earworm.

Adrenaline, there's only one PS1 game you won't be able to play on it (bugs bunny lost in time, requires an older version of POPS which you unfortunately can't change on vita).

26e24f  No.16332289

gotcha, I'll go ahead and work on installing that now then. Thanks

d3d426  No.16332510

One day I'll learn moon, and thank myself for it.

It's a bad compromise since it means by default, everyone loses, and more importantly, the low quality voices don't get deleted if you install that DLC since that's not how game patching works. Squeezing both in may also be responsible for the bad video quality but I'd need to see the Japanese versions to discern that. Is artifacting an issue on PS4?

As far as storage limits, Switch definitely needs higher, but I'd question its use for the 3DS or Vita simply because of their limited power, and digital.

Yeah it's good for capture and streaming only. It is possible to turn it into a pseudo-Switch since you can use DS3/DS4 controllers but the input latency is actually worse than the streaming, and it's not worth it.

Mine's set up to ux0:data/rom and have that as the start directory for loading games.

Repeating question, it's these right? Can you confirm USB and QCMA access works with these, not just charging? Because I'm a little worried about my existing cord. In general I hate proprietary connectors.

Right, sorry.

>Why did it bug you in those cases?

In #3 and #5 you are moving between a lot of areas in the sidescrolling manner as the murders are unfolding. I mean in general there is zero urgency to moving, you can just let the game sit and nothing will happen which sucks. But I honestly think it works best purely in first-person it feels more personal.

>(in fact it literally was… such a cheap motive)

You will loathe the start of V3 if you ever play it, I am on the fence on whether you should check that or not, because I didn't hate it in general but I do think it should be tested with caution, it was controversial. Unfortunately I was spoiled on the big controversies with case #1's conclusion and the game's ending, the former hurt. Anyway, #4's motive is the one part I hate about it, and to an extent the same applies to #3. Monokuma's appeal to me as a villain is that he can kill anyone he wants, when he wants. But his plans necessitate manipulating and sowing distrust among them so they do the dirty work. The very first case does a brilliant job of setting the stage for this and toying with your expectations too.

>gameplay mechanics

The trial mechanics improve with each game that's for sure, in particular in V3, you don't have truth flashbacks. Holding triangle inverses the meaning of the truth bullet into a lie. The mandatory ones are obvious, but there's a few optional ones scattered through the game that alter the trial progress slightly.

Only character I genuinely dislike is Angie and her religious crap. Others can be annoying but for the most part I've no strong negative feelings to the cast of all 3 games otherwise, I'm fairly sure the things I loathe about Tenko and K1-B0 are NISA being twits. Mikan is cute and I'm annoyed as you for what happened. V3's final chapter did something similar for what it's worth, and that actually annoyed me more than any of its other two big controversies.

NISA's translation of 1 is about on par with the fan translation. But sadly they get worse and worse.

a97f13  No.16334372

v6 and v5 are pretty much the exact same, except that its easier to take the sdcard out of the v6. They work on all firmwares, I think thats just the seller titling the item wrong.

I think you have to combine the bin files and then make that into the eboot. I can't find a single specific guide to this at the moment.

I played PE2 without issues using the downloadable psone classics version from store. Via Adrenaline, you can switch discs using the internal disc switch option that shows up, without issues. If you run a custom eboot, it should still show up in the "home" menu.

Besides, PE2 is thankfully a game with 'soft' disc change - you can save when night falls in Dryfield and load up next time directly on Disc 2 to save yourself from a forced disc change.

Other games with this kind of change are the Final Fantasy titles since they allow you to save right before the disc change.

Yes. the modern standard for vita games is drag-and-drop, some places may have older rips that require installs but games from places like NPS will be fairly easy. The psp game protocol with adrenaline is the same as well.

256GB should be fine. I don't actually know if there's an upper limit on size, but there is a quirk if you don't format it correctly if it's above some limit that it will slowly lose count of free space.

I think my intro to Vita may have been Gal*Gun of all things, but also HENkaku because I require certain things out of a console. It's ridiculous how it snowballed after that.

>I don't actually know if there's an upper limit on size, but there is a quirk if you don't format it correctly if it's above some limit that it will slowly lose count of free space

You have to pick 64K clusters on anything >32GB and there is no upper limit. Or more like the upper limit is so crazy high, it's extremely unlikely Micro SD cards that size are ever going to be made before being succeeded by a new format.

Yeah, same here. There's way too many limitations without the hack, like being limited to one MC per PSN store region. Now I can just dump games from different regions from my PC directly and don't even need to have any account on the Vita at all.

Just started Atelier Firis. I appreciate Gust attempting to fix their errors in this port even if the patch is almost as big as the game itself. The game seems to run overall fine besides one particular framerate drop so far, although that could change once I step outside of the cavern village. I'm considering to buy the two DLC sets to share on NPS, I already did for the free BGM packs (which were about an additional 2.3GB big in total) just today

An anti-gravity racing game, and a challenging one at it. The eighth installment of the franchise, it features anti-gravity ships racing in futuristic tracks. The game has 5 racing teams with 4 different types of ships: Speed, Agility, Fighters and Prototypes. Set in a futuristic metropolis in the year 2048, race tracks are three-tiered, with lower levels showing off modern-day architectural details, while higher levels show off futuristic elements of the city. Tracks twist and turn in the wildest angles, with upside down segments, wall segments, 90-degree vertical climbs, big jumps and 360-degree twirls, as pilots engage in combat with a varied selection of weapons such as cannons, plasma bolts, missiles and bombs, all while racing to the tune of blood-pumping electronic music.

I'm using a USB soundcard as my primary sound interface and plug the Vita into the onboard audio line-in, then rout it through OBS and enable the monitor (in OBS) for onboard line-in there. Does buzz a bit but you can't really hear it as long as a game is turned on.

My main issue is with 3.5mm to RCA adapter the volume is really low to the point I have to max it on the Vita and amplify it as part of my encoding step usually. I didn't here. I just love this cutscene's unintended hilarity, and really want to make a PARTY HARD variation.

As far as noise it's generally pretty quiet and basically unnoticeable to me if it's not totally silent, even with USB charging on. But tweaking the connector can make noticeable spikes.

I mainly use an external sound card because I don't trust whatever cheapo sub-dollar BoM things are in my laptop with decent headphones. External soundcard has optical out as well, but I don't know if that's classified as "monitor" like the 3.5mm headphone port is. Anyway, just do your research and do not under any circumstances go full audiophile.

b2e4cd  No.16346652

>My main issue is with 3.5mm to RCA adapter the volume is really low to the point I have to max it on the Vita and amplify it as part of my encoding step

That's what you should be doing though in the first place. Since this is just a regular headphone output it should be maxed out when you trying to grab sound off it for maximum quality. Can't say I had the need to amplify it though, it seems perfectly workable the way it comes in.

It's Ultra Despair Girls, the spinoff. It's a third person shooter. Notice it has an M rating, a game like this would've never passed Sony's (or current NISA's) "standards" nowadays.

I really liked it, it felt like a "RE4 lite" to me.

d3d426  No.16348768

As dubsman says it's the TPS spin-off Ultra Despair Girls. It isn't great but I like its basic gameplay premise, and synergy of the two mains, and I'm currently playing through it again. Kurokuma is great too just because they make him black as possible complete with bling. In terms of ordering (and translation quality and general quality), 1, 2, UDG, V3 is a good summary.

I don't know if that's true about the quality thing. I'll also spotlight a useful FFmpeg audio filter in this context: volumedetect. This profiles the audio and among other things tells you mean and max volume, so you can amplify it with the "volume" filter without clipping. I typically don't make it hit peak amplitude because the line noise often comes through but sometimes it is too quiet.

8fbb53  No.16348810

>I don't know if that's true about the quality thing

You want your source signal to be as clear as possible before amplifying it. The source in this case being the Vita headphone jack output. Any kind of amplification that you introduce after that will by its very nature introduce audio artifacts. While this might be imperceptible in a real world scenario, I still prefer to err on the side of caution and do things properly.

>apparently there is interference with my sound card or all the criss-crossing wires

That sounds more like the interference from the USB connection on the Vita. It's unavoidable unless you somehow can manage to ground the audio output separately (read not through your PC) from the USB connector.

d3d426  No.16349385

No. The only thing Vita's USB is doing is the video. The audio is only through the Vita's headphone port. Even if I move the cables, the noise from the PC audio somehow gets in.

Anyway to download and install game updates outside of getting them from Sony? I've got a copy of US Ridge Racer to update, but I'm in a bit of a pickle about it. I'm playing on the PSTV, and the whitelist mod keeps any updates from installing, so I'd have to pirate the update and install via Vitashell.

9d091f  No.16355558

I assume it's asking him to rebuild the database after booting back up or something. Had that happen with my PS3 sometimes when something crashed with it.

Have you tried NPS? From the looks of things you can download updates separate from games (though in the browser, updates are stored in the Vita Games category as opposed to having their own). I could be wrong though.

c9b8f9  No.16355561

you can download an official update through NPS, but it has to be installed at the same time as the related game

2a4df7  No.16355562

pkgj and I believe NPS Browser both support updates. But seriously, they block updates to PSTV blacklisted games on those? Thankfully the days of NoNpDrm means you can just update games in the normal fashion most of the time.

Shouldn't be necessary.

I had to do that with NIER Automata because the PS4 doesn't even allow updates to be downloaded without PSN, and PSN presently requires updating. It is possible to sideload them with CFW so I did. Sadly I cannot update 4GO due to the whole firmware requirements thing, and I still need to know if it's possible to pirate the Japanese voice DLC for Neptunia VII. Also an ironic statement given it's free.

30b000  No.16355624

Thanks for the advice and dubs, NSP Browser did have the update, had to right click the game, and then there's an option to get it.

9f903d  No.16355637

The ps4 scene is somewhat held back in its infancy. I'd compare it to the early days of the vita but I would argue that it's slightly worse since even fewer people appear to be working on it. Most places that aren't private don't appear to put up DLC pkgs very often.

9d091f  No.16355658

Here's the thing, at least in my experiences: The PS4 will indeed try to update the system firmware automatically if you connect it to the internet; it doesn't give a shit anymore if you've told it not to in the settings. However, it is possible to go into the downloads window (which they fucking bury in the menu unless you've got an update message that can take you directly to it) and cancel the system update as it pulls it in and before it goes about installing, whilst still letting game updates get through. Whatever the the firmware is at now past 5.55, it leaves a frame of time to cancel it that lasts number of minutes, at least on the quality of my connection. Whether you want to risk fucking yourself out of ability to hack the system in the future is on you, but I've done game updates without having to log in, and without having to update the system. Mine is still at 5.55, offline at all other occasions, waiting for more CFW related developments past 5.50.

Just saying as a heads up, and this is assuming your system is as of yet unhacked. And granted, I wouldn't be surprised if some games have updates that require actual system firmware above a certain level to pull in. It's also been a few months since I ventured a try at whether a game needed an update or not, so maybe take it with a grain of salt.

2a4df7  No.16355761

You mean 5.05? Also I got mine about a month before the solar flare bullshit and it has no PSN associated with it unlike PS3 and Vita so I can only do the sideloading trick. At the moment I'm just waiting and it's not even using CFW. Same with my Switch.

>I wouldn't be surprised if some games have updates that require actual system firmware above a certain level to pull in.

Vita did it. I don't see why PS4 wouldn't. Thankfully it largely affects online games like Minecraft, most games get patched once or twice and left alone, and that's also dependent I believe on if they change the executable at all. That fact is why "asset swaps" existed with Vitamin/MaiDumpTool.

it doesn't? Guy was saying you need the 2 no drm plugins to play the drag and dropped vita games.

30269d  No.16357583

Not exactly. Autoplugin is an "all-in-one" application that installs various commonly used plugins, and among them is the "NoNpDRM" plugin that's necessary for playing pirated stuff nowadays. Autoplugin installs that plugin but you can also get the plugin separately and install it manually.

3fe233  No.16357592

sounds like it'd just be easier to go the autoplugin route then uninstall autoplugin once I'm done. Does it matter if I'm installing the plugins while my vita is using the SD2Vita or should I be on my actual memory card for it? Looks like they are going in ur0:tai so I don't know if the memory card really matters though messing with anything that isn't in the ux0 file makes me nervous.

You need to rely on audio rhythm more than visuals at least for timing. But no welcome to the club. I'm not too bad at rhythm games, but even the normal difficulty for some songs are off-beat and mess me up. The hardest difficulty is brutal. As casual as it is I enjoy pretty much all the Rhythm Tengoku games, and in part because those will mess you around as far as visual cues on some stages.

You can try to underclock as well as overclock but some games barely scrape by even with the latter. I keep a power brick on hand for when I'm actually using it out and about.

But seriously, I can understand Project Diva is a bit hard when starting for the first time because the button inputs are all over the place in the screen. Doesnt help it's also very easy to break a combo with a SAFE if your timing happens to be slightly off. Taiko and IA/VT are more forgiving in comparison.

Flight mode is meant to preserve a bit more of battery life

Be aware there is a midly annoying bug with games (VNs and Gust games for instance) that disable the wifi by default while on flight mode. You just need to re-open one of those games with disabled flight mode (or reboot the console) to be able to reconnect to Internet again.

Also some games will eat more battery than others.

The visuals can easily distract you, especially when you edit things like changing models or costumes. But there is a PV mode where you can enjoy that thing to your heart's content. Also just a reminder, the shit you unlock in the first Project Diva gets transferred into the second title.

Another rhythm game that is really harsh on performance is anything DJMax-related (including the spinoff Superbeat Xonic). There is also Musynx, but I didnt like that one too much because it has too many chingchong crap and other low-quality tracks to bloat the songs number.

Alright, I finished two scenarios, Rinze and Misaki, pics related. Game is fun but it suffers from the fact that you fist have to raise your relationship levels before you can use any poses with a girl, which gets a bit boring especially whenever you start a new route. There's also not enough time to raise your relationship with multiple girls per playthrough so you're basically stuck filming just one each time.

This is offset by the fact that each girl gets her own unique variation of a pose and behaves differently. I think I have most stuff unlocked now but I'm not entirely sure since I've yet to touch the main scenario. Unlockable wardrobe items seems a bit bare-bones, totally made with DLC in mind but at least none of this stuff is accessible in the main game (only free record mode) so if all you want is to play a dating sim, this is still pretty good. The main portion of the game has been consistently wholesome so far but once you unlock free record mode things get very lewd very quick.

Don't really know what else to write, I used to be really curious about this game before I could read any Japanese but never got the chance to ask about it, since barely anyone in the English speaking world cares about this. I don't know if anyone feels the same about Japanese exclusive games but if you have any questions about it, I'll answer to the best of my ability.

Think I need a break from it for a bit, maybe play something more gameplay focused.

c9b8f9  No.16393735

Soul Sacrifice Delta's Online Pass isnt a DLC, but a service tied to your PSN account. Meaning it cant be pirated. Doesnt help you also need that Online Pass to activate the additional contents that were inside the game updates (they stay unlocked however as long as you keep your save file safe)

So yeah, you dont really have a choice in this particular case.

Maybe they took the server down but were too lazy to remove the tab from the page?

I'll probably do it again, but if I don't, do not spread the old chart, it's been updated. Always fetch from the Git. I also think it bears warning that if Nintendo are starting to take homebrew/hacking videos down that it is impertative that other anons have cloned the full repository in case Sony tries following suit. Ideally do it by cloning but I've uploaded one as it is right now.

I understand the appeal of multiplayer, but not if it's relying on official servers to be played because for me, the games I play, get played a lot. You don't have longevity with the majority of online-focused games, and that's one of the reasons I didn't go for Peach Beach Splash. Also while I have digital games, it is only because I'm defiant to any attempt at controlling my copying of them. All my systems are jailbroken and the only game I have with always-online was by accident.

Same, it became my most used console right after I got it. I love how you can just put it down for a month without having to worry about it discharging then just pick it up again and continue where you left off. Also that game looks nice, I'll get it.

9d091f  No.16397541

Speaking of Shinobido, anyone know if there's a NoNpDrm rip of the DLC around for NA Shinobido 2? Asking since it's absent of NPS, perhaps on account of the game itself being entirely removed from purchase on the official PS storefront (though it seems like the base game is still on NPS, so maybe that's faulty reasoning), and checking the alternative site I know of that has Vita games, they don't even have the base game there, let alone DLC for it.

>I fucking loved the PS2 game of this.

I'd give the original a try if I could, but it's one of those games that someone in PAL saw fit to pick up while no one in NA did, most of my resources for PS2 games don't have a rip of it, and the one that does, EP, keeps it locked behind registering for their forum.

Games (as well as DLCs) removed from the store are still available on Sony's servers to download, for those who initially purchased them. It's probably the same Shinobido DLC I've recently bought and shared but for the JP version.

9d091f  No.16398423

So what does someone need to do to get it onto NPS, put a hit out on the DLC from someone that did get it while it was publicly access to find whatever the download address is in redownloading it? Considering the game's known to have been removed from availability, I'm a bit surprised it hasn't been a priority, but then again, I have no clue what the quality of said DLC is like anyhow, so maybe there's a reason.

Beyond that though, I do notice some other DLC no one's bothered with putting on NPS, like whatever the apparent third launch DLC was for US Atelier Rorona Plus (the downloads they do have are labelled as being 00001, 00002, and 00004, which suggests something's still missing), and US Mary Skelter Nightmares' is also missing. I mean, I've found the latter's DLC on NB alongside the actual game, but for some reason particular megas will cause an auto refresh of my browser and thus the downloads never complete. Could try the gdrive alternative link there I suppose, but I don't especially trust downloading pirated content straight from google's servers and I'm not sure why rippers would risk uploading to there in the first place.

7ed3a0  No.16398457

You need to be a DLC owner, you get its PKG link and license file and submit both to NPS.

Launch day bonus DLC are notoriously missing and you will find that the pattern of only one regional store having most of the DLC all the time. Why does it bother you though? Just get the EU version.

Speaking of which, I did end up downloading Shinobido 2 but it has English dub only. Yuck. Turns out you can just swap the Japanese language files and it just werks apparently. Going to try that later.

c9b8f9  No.16398493

You need to be the owner of the DLC to get the pkg link but at the same time you HAVE TO run the DLC at least once with the NoNpDRM plugin present on your Vita, in order to generate a fake key license. I've seen too many DLCs (especially first-print) on the NPS database where someone just shared the pkg links but didnt bother to generate the license keys. Thus rendering the contribution rather useless in the end.

This also kinda pisses me off because it also means I may end up buy those DLCs (such as for Super Robot Wars X JP) just to share the key licenses, while it could have been easily avoided if that person followed the process thoroughly till the end

2a4df7  No.16398498

Follow to the "NPS Database" link it's to a Google Docs spreadsheet with information on how to acquire the necessary info and they have a tab specifically for submitting new dump info. It involves a browser plug-in.

Actually this got migrated to V3 Beta http://beta.nopaystation.com/ as well as for the TSV files I filled a report that the PSP_GAMES tsv wasnt working tho, should be fixed soon

Which means it's even easier to contribute now that you can just directly upload the rif file from your nonpdrm plugin folder (which is found at the root of your memory card), without going through the hassle of generating the zRIF string yourself.

I did complain however that the new version was a bit messier for active contributors like me since there is no way to know what stuff is currently missing (and what was just uploaded recently), which was simple to take a glance on the google doc sheet before.

9d091f  No.16398606

>Launch day bonus DLC are notoriously missing and you will find that the pattern of only one regional store having most of the DLC all the time.

Fair point, but it just seems weird to have the launch DLC uploaded only in part, rather than the whole set at times. I mean, I'd assume it wouldn't be a big deal at acquisition to just download all the files to begin with, being that costumes and items usually don't have a hefty weight to them or take long to do so anyhow. And yet you can have parts 1, 2, and 4, but they just didn't care to upload 3 while they were at it (assuming it was the same person)? This is part of why I prefer older generations without DLC and all the issues that stem from it. Let's not get started on location exclusive preorder/first print DLC.

>Why does it bother you though? Just get the EU version.

I actually hadn't considered that, since I've have NPS set to search for US region at present

>Speaking of which, I did end up downloading Shinobido 2 but it has English dub only. Yuck.

Honestly, I get that companies have it in their heads that English audio sells better here than Japanese does, but I'd think games set explicitly in Japan could be left with Japanese voicing or at least dual audio for better immersion. I guess this was back Bamco wasn't as willing to spring for it here, outside of Dragon Ball and Eternal Sonata. Anyhow, reminder that there is a dual audio wiki ( https://japdualaudio-in-videogames.fandom.com/ ) if you want to double check a given game before playing it, but I'm not sure as to the state of their completeness there (and obviously it's far easier to list which games include JP audio in the west than all of those that fail to). Also only lists games with it as an official state, rather than fan patched undubs.

>Turns out you can just swap the Japanese language files and it just werks apparently. Going to try that later.

Neat if it works with no further hassle. I know there's some games that apparently can't be undubbed at present because trying to outright breaks them. Yakuza 1 PS2 for instance. But I suppose modern games automatically being broken up into folders instead of singular ISOs and like might help with more easily finding what specifically to replace.

So can V3 replace the previous release at present despite still being a beta, at least as far as ability to download goes? Or is it mostly just an improvement for uploading at present.

c9b8f9  No.16398715

V3 Beta is meant to fully replace V2 for uploading stuff, and you have to download the TSV files there now if you want to be kept updated with the newest contributions on the database.

You can download the PSP_GAMES tsv file from 2.0 (which is already 99% complete in US/EU games) in the meantime the other gets fixed.

7ed3a0  No.16398846

I usually do google a game but the PS2 version seemed to have dual audio so I just assumed the weeb-machine version would too. Tricked by fucking bamco again.

Undubbed it, seems to work. I just started NG and the into cutscene has Japanese audio now. I'm not going to play it right now but if that worked, everything else should be working too. Grab it while it's hot:

For EU version, includes instructions on how to apply to US and DLC for US version that I grabbed off the same leddit thread as the undubbing instructions.

>I know there's some games that apparently can't be undubbed at present because trying to outright breaks them

Yes, this kind of game, where you can just replace file and do some renaming and it works are very rare, usually a lot more changes during a localization that makes this approach impossible.

>I suppose modern games automatically being broken up into folders instead of singular ISOs and like might help with more easily finding what specifically to replace

Nope. Recent examples would be something like Xenoblade Chronicles X and Dragon's Dogma PC. For both cases the undubbers had to search through every single little voice file and find its associated original file, pretty much brute forcing it due to changed file structures, formats and naming schemes.

7ed3a0  No.16398883

Shit. Some lines are still in English, must have messed something up.

Downloaded but I'll wait a bit before mirroring. Also ideally use a clearer naming. Mine aren't consistent but they're stuff like.

Bullet Girls Phantasia [PCSH10099] (Decensor Mod) [rePatch] I also favour 7-zip since it's an open format.

Noted and I'll make sure that info is updated by next thread.

7ed3a0  No.16399342

I actually prefer winrar for multiple reasons:

>7zip archives may not be compatible between different 7zip versions

>in the past 7zip had the tendency to shit the bed while extracting really huge archives if you attempted to multitask at the same time

>winrar can be extracted by pretty much anything including 7zip

Maybe it's not free as in freedom but it's free as in freeware. I actually own a license since way back.

As for the naming scheme, you're free to come up with a better one, but considering this works on both the US and EU versions of the game and the fact that mentioning repatch is completely redundant I don't think I did too bad of a job. Won't keep this up on my mega indefinitely so somebody should mirror it at some point.

I remember picking it up in a HMV shop for full price. I thought I was ripped off but years later on original PS3 with backwards compatibility I appreciated what I had. There was even a whole page on a playstation magazine with strategies for the enemies that I bought too. It's where I learned a lot of the cheese that still works in 2 as AFAIK. I continued emulating later when that PS3 was stolen.

I was going to share the PS2 ISO but it was one of the things lost in my HDD being erased by Windows 7 after 4 years of system 'updates' that in the end did nothing but brick a drive. So done with Windows.

I'm not even going to bother changing the lines to weeb. I've played the PS2 original about 50 times now with both voices but at least then the English VA had a campy charm about them. The new Zaji sounds like absolute crap as do the enemy idle chatters but I think I'm just going to ignore it.

I think the right way to do any proper file/archive managing is through console. I never had good times with windows GUI zippers.

26e24f  No.16402188

>how were the Jak and Daxter, Sly, and Ratchet and Clank Vita ports?

Jak and Daxter is an extremely shitty port, avoid it like the plague.

Ratchet and clank isn't that bad, but why play it with shitty graphics, controls and framerate on the vita when you can get the 1080p locked 60fps trilogy on PS3?

Sly trilogy is pretty fucking decent, in fact it uses the touch screen for a lot of things, but it's graphically inferior to the PS3 version.

There's also god of war collection, and it's utter shit: compressed sound, horrible graphics, subhuman framerate (even the PS2 could manage 60fps at times, vita doesn't go above 28 and constantly drops to single digits), the trophies are glitched and the cutscenes are displayed in 4:3 (they were THAT fucking lazy), it's not even worth pirating.

>Also, was DoA5 a solid port?

Yes, DOA5 is a fantastic port, especially if you overclock and apply the full resolution patch, but it doesn't have the big breasted crow girl, the pink haired grappler nor the blonde loli, it's more or less vanilla DOA5 with a gimmicky "touch fight" mode that lets you poke kasumi's tits. If you want a fully featured fighting game go for UMVC3, UNIST or garou, maybe even arcana heart 3, but iirc that one doesn't have the kickstarter character.

It works a treat. See further up >>16346416 for how I connect mine and >>16328960 >>16346595 for actual recorded examples. The only issue is it occasionally causes issues with USB file/QCMA access. If people are managing to brick their systems with it I don't believe it. They probably just don't know how to recover a broken config file.

You can get audio easy. It really works well, I was initially skeptical when I saw stuttery video but that was some FFmpeg issue with -thread_queue_size being set too low. Most people can use OBS. It's only toasters like mine that don't support it.

Cheers man. I wouldn't have any way to recover a broken config file because I'm on linux and AFAIK the content manager thing via usb is windows only software. I do all my vita managing through ftp on console. So if the system couldn't at least boot to vitashell and get on the network I'd be bricked out of the system.

As long as it's Vita-related. Ideally something tying into recent events. News suggestions would be welcome too since that's not something I chase up so much unless it's related to breaking, and on that front, 3.69/3.70 probably won't be out in time. I'll ensure it's appropriately worded if not.

Just FYI I wasn't worried about making any mistakes. The issues on git seemed to imply a bricking bug + I've fucking never seen anyone stream a vita game so I wasn't convinced any of it worked. Which also means if it gets messed up buttons could go unregistered on boot. Please forgive my non vita-fagness.and thanks

Any time you do something major to your system like downgrade, or to a lesser extent installing Ensō for example, the tools are well tested but it's just if anything happens to goes wrong, it's at your own risk. However if you stick to the plug-ins I recommend, there's virtually no risk of a console bricking. At worst it's just going through the recovery to set up certain hacks again and maybe cleaning up your game layout. I provide an example config layout as an idea of how to structure it.

If it makes you more confident I have personally tested almost everything I document, everything mandatory anyway. Note too, that even though I have taken my Vita further in certain respects, I avoid documenting anything less essential but risky like the boot wallpaper stuff, and anything that hides essential inner workings is no-go.

The one thing I do need to do is streamline it a lot. It's too wordy in parts.

I've found it is somewhat able to recognize when to do things and when not to but it occasionally gets in a tangle. Nothing a reboot doesn't fix though. Also noted for news.

The Adrenaline issue is something I encountered well before the streaming plugin, in case I wasnt clear. I believe someone else mentioned the same problem in the github but was met with "not planning to fix that" response from TheFlow.

bd1770  No.16406727

I see. It's not that happens to me a lot but then I don't play PS1 games on it all that much. Last time it did happen was when I was streaming though.

Has anyone changed cards on their psvsd? Is it a similar process to the sd2vita?

"Waiting Edition" decided on.

>format new SD

>USB access to system

>copy-paste to new one

>power off, swap

It's that simple.

Thought it was LOLIcon that caused issues with that, but it's not something I've used for a while, and the old options are incompatible with a few games.

1b04ae  No.16407194

Cool, thanks. I was afraid it would be more complicated because going from 3.60 to 3.65 was such a hassle.

a97f13  No.16407227

It should be focused on shilling the psp demo download. The news of the upcomming hack has blown up and it's likely to draw more people to getting one.

for me

>tfw been playing nep2unia this whole week

>most of it has been grinding for the end of 4th chapter

b2bad9  No.16407292

That's surely backwards. 3.60->3.65 is easy, but pointless in the current era of reF00D. If you did it at least prior to compatibility packs it's OK though. But, 3.65->3.60 is pain, and doesn't give you much except when you need to do recovery (i.e. virtually never) and with PCH1xxx models requires something dangerous to be worth doing at all. The downgrade process is also full of pitfalls. PSN access still works at least.

3.69/3.70 prep work should be front-row-center no matter who makes the thread, and likewise >>16393841 do not spread old gamerecs.

You're that guy who was asking about the conquest/holy sword ending weren't you.

>vita exclusive DRPG

I give it 6 months before it gets ported to soystation 4 with 50% more content and a shit translation.

LOLIcon outright doesn't let you boot adrenaline if it's enabled. And what kind of subhuman leaves its consoles on the floor? Especially the overheatstation 3.

Don't spread nonsense. And, I guess the video streaming plug-in at work.

1b04ae  No.16407399

Fuck, I don't remember what I did but it was tedious.

Second question, what's the point of mounting a psvsd/usb drive, an sd2vita and a sony card at the same time with storagemgr? Can the vita run stuff from all three of them at the same time?

bd1770  No.16407539

I can boot adrenaline just fine with lolicon running. It will crash sooner rather than later though.

a97f13  No.16408739

Yes I am. I'm on Chapter 5 now and am going to recruit all the CPUs

I got my friend to download a demo, and hopefully I see him soon enough. He's in my situation where portable gaming is the only real option to play vidya, so him hacking his vita will be a boon.

Unfortunately I'm getting this in OBS and my only video format option is Y/CbCr 4:2:0.

I can't try mplayer right now (system issues won't install it) and PotPlayer is windows only.

There is the small possibility that my USB is the problem.

Guess I'll be playing alone again.

b2bad9  No.16410073

You can make Adrenaline use alternate mount points for finding games, and that's about it I'm pretty sure. I just use the dedicated plug-in for SD2Vita or PSVSD given issues I've seen with storagemgr and leaving it in sleep for too long.

Strange. Try bare FFmpeg, I give recording/streaming examples of how to do that for V4L2 and Pulseaudio.

Honestly I haven't used Adrenaline for a while.

d31ab0  No.16411179

I got errors with that. I'll post pic when I'm home

b2bad9  No.16411191

d31ab0  No.16411204

Ffmpeg. Think it was read write error

b2bad9  No.16411251

Don't use my script as-is. I have to specify the input and output devices! Audio is fixed in my case with a particular Pulseaudio source (pacmd list-sources | grep "name:"), but video is either /dev/video0 or /dev/video1 dependent on what my laptop picks up first. If I screw up it uses the built-in webcam. It's why I have it an option to the script. My invocation is

$_ffmpeg_vit 0/1

9a7e48  No.16411387

>Don't use my script as-is. I have to specify the input and output devices!

I didn't. I modified it. My vita is detected was video3 every time yesterday but it's 1 today. I just picked up a cable that might help me get the audio through OBS, too.

With ffmpeg I get:

/dev/video1: Input/output error

And I know it's the right device because when I try run it the vita freezes for a second.

I've got it working in guvcview so I think I'll just screencap and try setup the audio into OBS and have a little stream if it works.
