Not that anon, but while I've only played Minus, I can say it stays a lot truer to Brawl's engine, mechanics and design than Project M did. Mostly the crazy additions give you more options - Fox can do a standard Brawl air-dodge or do a Melee air-dodge, Yoshi can do his standard aerials with A or cancel momentum with Z. You lose out on some shit (like Dedede's jet hammer) but generally you'll find something fun or interesting just by fiddling around.

The biggest issue I've ever had with it is a lack of good documentation. The entry on ssbwiki lags a bit behind the actual release in places, don't know if that ever got fixed.

I still prefer vanilla Brawl with the lads, but Mario and Peach in Minus are pretty fuckin' neato.

My idea for a mystery dungeon stage would be one that looks like a 3D recreation of the original games visuals (akin to stages like Mushroom Kingdom), but from the usual Smash perspective rather than top-down. So the playing field would be the tops of the maze (the parts that you couldn't stand on in the actual game), and any rooms and corridors that intersect with the plane the fighters are on. 2D sprites of Pokemon would walk through the corridors and rooms, attacking players that get in their way (but they'd be slow and utilise the tile-based movement of Mystery Dungeon, so they'd be slow and telegraphed).

The layout would be randomly generated each time you play just like in the original game. And the visual theme would have many variations to represent different dungeons (a Sky Tower theme, a Mt Blaze theme, a Great Canyon theme, etc.).

I dunno, I think if we ever officially got a Wario Land stage (read: never with Sakurai) it wouldn't have been like that. I know Smash has had generic non-specific locations for series before (Castle Siege), but I think they'd go with a specific Wario level rather than what appears to be a hybrid of Wario's Castle from Wario World's cover art and the Shake King's lair.

And Bowser's Castle looks great, but there's no way in hell an official one would have the lava be purely cosmetic.

Having lava or anything that prevents bottom KOs at all is poor stage design as you kill all bottom KO options that a character has, like spikes, meteors, or recovery gimps. It would be like having a ceiling and killing all vertical KO options.

You can make assumptions all you want but that doesn't refute a single thing I said.

Having less variety in kill options is bad design as it skews balance in favor of characters not affected by those changes. Not every character can reliably KO in every direction, so they rely on specific directional KOs. Maps that hinder that are not balanced. Now, if the map was designed so those types kills were still possible but simply not as viable, then they could be decent as a counter-pick. Simply making them not possible though provides a hard counter to characters relying on certain KO options which is not balanced and poor design.

Yeah she's pretty strong, but, she's got literally one strategy. That's it. No adaptability, no alternative options. You know exactly what a ZSS is going to do. I honestly think people just haven't figured out how to fight Nairo yet. But once they do, I don't think ZSS has an answer to it really. It's the same reason Captain Falcon isn't top tier. What he does is good but it's the only thing he does.

Other favorites include Snake, Wolf, Ganondorf, Sonic (I really, really hate what they did to Sonic in Sm4sh. Something closer to Tekken wavedashing is in Super Smash Flash 2, but you can also cancel crouch into dash, so dash-dancing gets a bit weird.

She can still float, but how she has a conventional double jump. In Melee and PM, she doesn't start ascending immediately when she uses her second jump, she sort of spins in place for a second, but cancels her downward momentum. Effectively, that gives you more options when approaching, because if you use an areal before you start ascending, you can cancel the rest of the jump altogether, letting you spend just slightly more time in the air while still remaining low enough to hit ground opponents and enabling you to land-cancel so you can follow up. In Smash 4, that's gone.
