Gunner was pretty much exactly the same: it had the highest DPS, biggest burst, best movement, could summon a turret AND got to wear heavy armour normally reserved for tanks.

Hell, gunners could out-DPS every other class using their L60 gear even if everyone else used completely maxed out end-game raid gear. You had to spec entirely into defence if you didnt want to get one-shot by them as well.

No idea whether they nerfed them or not, I always enjoyed playing my warrior and constantly throwing out stuns or teleport/dodging around to eat up their time while my party fucked them. Says a lot when you need multiple people to take down even a single class, though.

The only thing it has going for it are sexy women models, otherwise it's any other generic f2p MMO you've seen come out in the last five years, and I've got better places to get spank material than an MMO.

Faggot who played the game reporting in, it might be the gook blood but generic MMO wasn't too big a deal for me.

The deal breaker however, was the sheer Pay 2 Win shit Aeria pulled in the game. For about $1000 a week you could get the best of the best gear and mechs which shockingly people actually paid.

Want to dress up your gal in costumes? Hope you like RNG boxes and roulette wheels. Want to remove the base lingerie your character starts with? Hope you got your credit card out. Yeah, you had to PAY money to enjoy the main draw of the game.

It wasn't all bad, your character got a cool mech and futuristic latex for one.The PVP was neat but due to the P2W shit it eventually devolved into one sided bullshit.

Now that's it's shutting down I kinda wish it get hosted by another, non-kike, company but that's never gonna happen. Really wish I took more screenshots while I could.

I always find it funny when "critics" talk about SK and the girls like theyre just pieces of meat to be ogled. All the girls in the game have separate personalities, goals, convictions and all the rest of it. Most of their individual story lines are about them coming to terms with themselves and how maybe their perceptions arent perfect.

Sure, the girls are young and busty but why is it that these "critics" overlook everything else just to say "Well this is just degrading I cant treat a female like a human being if I can see her tits" like it isnt the most hypocritical thing.

And this is before we even consider that maybe – MAYBE – these games arent made for those people. Let people who do like those games review them for a fair shake rather than letting some puritan fucking go an ideological rant.

What's worse is you had to pay just to get the fap bait. As I said before you had to pay money to get an item that let you switch out your character's base lingerie. That means a F2P player cannot see their character naked, nor can they equip other lingeries, ones with stat boosts or more sexually appealing.

Though the naked models weren't that great considering the quality of the game.

I remember playing this ages ago and I don't recall much about it apart from the tits and the censor the "loli" class. Didn't play much into it nor put any dosh into it. I did find it funny that some of the characters act like catty bitches to each other. Also I found alot of women played it for some odd reason

Good riddance. It was worse than a generic Korean MMO, because you literally didn't need to play it. The automatic questing system made an already generic game boring. And it had shameless P2W like other people said. I would honestly rather play Guild Wars 2.

Also Aeria Games (dunno if they still host Scarlet Blade but they had it at launch) is total fucking shit. I almost succumbed to the F2P Jew and bought something. I payed $50 but it wouldn't let me buy more than $25 at a time because my account wasn't old enough. But they charged my card 4 times for some reason. I worked and got a charge-back but they promptly banned me afterwards. I had played the game for two months. And that's the last I had of Aeria. I played other games with them, one I invested a lot of time into (thankfully no money) but was banned instantly simply for playing in the same match as a hacker (which I had no idea was even in the match).

I now realize I can fap enough to fully customizable virtual anime with h-games like 3D Custom Girl and Artificial Academy. Wish I didn't waste my time with that Scarlet Blade.

I don't think so. The localization seemed ok, but some of the NPC shops never got activated and they didn't have the same events as in the korean version. But there were a TON of GM events where they'd spawn a bunch of high level monsters for like 30 minutes straight, then all these gold balls (literally, loot pinatas). Imagine hundreds of gold balls on the screen at once…each one would drop like 20 different things.

I'd have to turn my graphics to lowest settings and turn off visibility to other characters if I wanted the game to run smoothly.

This last picture is a GM event where spy enemies are spawned for like 30 minutes straight…hundreds or even over a thousand of them. You get rank points from killing them.

Let me sort of explain the logic of it as someone who has been down that hellhole in multiple games.

You see, it's one thing to have a character in-game as fap-bait, or ego-stroking-bait in general. But in a F2P MMO, that's boring after half an hour. There's only so much to oogle at when you're wearing a Leather Vest™ and Cotton Pants™.

Then you get towards end-game. It's another thing to have an end-game character, decked out in sweet armor and equipment that makes it look badass. Your ego-stroking character is now fucking awesome looking and can back it up in-game by being a force to be reckoned with in the game. What's better than this?

Now add micro-transactions to the list. Your character can now look like they belong in the middle of an anime aimed towards 13-year-olds with overprotective Mormon parents. Teens and lonely adults with bad monetary habits can live out their dreams of looking like Sephiroth and Hatsune Miku's deviantart-shipped love-child. Of course a lot of people are smarter than giving $25 for a cosmetic, so many less-reputable games also offer amazing stat boosts for shelling out. Either way there are people who still buy. In the end, you get people who spend hundreds, sometimes THOUSANDS to be a God in a game that may very well be forgotten about in three years. I would say that for games like these, a couple hundred or so people are paying the devs. Pareto principle, right?

Micro-transactions are status symbols, and every one of these shitty Korean MMOs has very elitist communities that jerk themselves off to how cool they look or how many events they participated in. So if you get to the point where you pay for a $30 costume package, you might as well go sub to a real MMO like Final Fantasy XIV or something.

most MMO's will force you to do dungeons in groups, because you won't be able to survive by yourself alone.

If you want to solo it, be a healer. You'll need tanks & damage dealers to do dungeons, but you'll have incredible survivability.

I think if the game was something more like PSO or Vindictus, it would have lasted a lot longer. In part because those style of game also allow for a closer camera even during fights.

Although the story seems to be a simple

* aliens destroy the earth

* before the last remaining humans die out, they create an ark to retake and repopulate the earth later years in the future

* modified super strong humans clones called arkana are created in the Ark to be soldiers / scientists the to be used when the earth is to be retaken.

* There are a small amount of traditional humans in the ark as well.

* Like in most MMO's, many of the NPC's look the same. But this time the story justifies that because they're supposed to be clones.

Although the lore seems just like simple sci-fi fare, there are some big references to hindu mythology.

Commander (the unseen player/customer who directs the Arkana like an avatar) = Brahman

Brahman = hindu god that is associated with the origin of the will or willpower.

Brahman is married to the goddess Sati.

Sati = associated with the energies that manifest and carry out the will

Hence the commanders are all male (representing Brahman and the aspect of willpower) and all the arkana are female (representing Sati and the aspect of manifesting/carrying out that will).

The enemy aliens that destroyed humanity are called the Narak. This also ties into hindu lore because Naraka is essentially hell. So essentially the story is an allegory about people dying and going into hell, or earth being transformed into hell because of divine retribution…sort of.

Another part of the story is most of the main big computers left by the humanity of old are trying to retake the earth from the aliens, and make earth habitable again for humanity. This was the design of the Ark project. The ark project housed all of humanity's best ideas for the future, genetic codes and such, so it could grow humans to repopulate the earth when the time came. But to test to make sure the earth was habitable, the Ark project created the super human clones called the Arkana. Plus the Arkana will have to defeat the aliens that remain.

Things get a little further complicated when it turns out that that normal humans that go to the surface risk being mutated into monsters.

There's also some drug that changes people, mutates them, makes them addicted to it, and makes them prone to mind control and stuff.

There's also a shadow faction of humans who are trying to team up with the aliens, somehow mutating into hybrids and betraying humanity.

There are zones that are straight out PVE.

Then there are zones designed to be PVP zones where one faction's town is in one side of the map, and the other faction's town is on the other. The PVP zones also have regular trash monsters that give better exp, gold, and drops. There are zone wide bosses, that are probably the strongest monsters in the game, that spawn every few hours for factions to fight over in the middle of the zones, that regularly are the source of the best loot. There are daily quests that to do that at first are near your faction's base, but later on make you go into the enemy faction's area more and more.

This is besides the battlefields (fights between the two factions) that happen all the time. There are also special battlefields that happen only once a day, or once a week. The one that happens once a week is a huge battlefield that can be up to 80vs80 players (but it was more like 60vs40 when I was playing).

That big battlefield that was once a week was cool because everybody showed up for that. Each faction's side had a ton of monsters, guards, & tanks that would drop awesome stuff if the opposite faction killed them. Halfway through this giant monster spawned in the middle of the map. After that monster is killed, the main tower in each faction's map would lose a shield or something and could be destroyed (if the shield was up it would take too long to kill and you'd die from the nearby respawning players). And if you kill that tower a giant safe appears, and it's a literal loot pinata. Drops a ton of goodies. The main point of this once-a-week battlefield is a giant game of capture the flag (with 7 flags, and each side has 4 flag posts). But if you do something with a flag, like capture or retrieve one, you get these fancy wings for an entire week that also serve as a buff.

Actually I was able to see a faction of like 20-30+ players pillage an enemy town a bunch of times.

There were like three "forms" your player could take on.

1) Normal, where you just wear your gear and armor

2) PVP skin, boosts your stats significantly, especially for PVP combat. Can only be used in PVP battlefields or PVP zones.

3) PVP mech armor, which boosts your stats even further!

If you're in your mech armor, you'll be able to crush anybody who's not in armor relatively easily. The thing is, both the PVP skin & PVP mech armor both drain a special meter you have. Without resting to refill your meter or using special items, you usually have enough meter to allow you to stay in your PVP skin for like 5 minutes easy, but you could probably only stay in your mech for maybe 30 to 60 seconds.

So using your mech is like your super mode, but it burns your meter so fast that you can only use it in strategic bursts.

This first image shows a mech that was never usable when I was playing the game. There was one floating in the middle of the first town that wasn't the starting area, just taunting you the entire time, making you wish you could drive it.

this first image is a boss in a PVP area. Apparently a friendly Arkana got mind controlled and utterly corrupted.

This fucking robot was the first thing in the game to give me any real trouble. First time I did the dungeon I didn't bother talking to the girl at the start, and killed everything. Then I found out it doesn't count, because I needed to talk to the girl to get the proper missions, and it didn't retroactively accept that I killed all the bosses. Oh well, lesson learned.
