Xonotic - i like the movement, the devastator, and the overall direction of the game really. theres neat stuff like vehicles, the grappling hook, jetpack, etc. its not completely done yet though, but its playable.

OpenRCT2 - its rollercoaster tycoon 2 on an open source engine. RCT2's demo had all the game content, just a 1 hour time limit. the engine removes the time limit, so by a silly loophole RCT2 is free. it has multiplayer too
Warzone 2100 - its a full fledged RTS with some odd features, like designing units and ridiculous teching. used to be commercial years ago so you may have heard of it, the assets went freeware and the source code went open source
OpenRA - red alert/dune/tiberian dawn clone. neat but changes somethings in interest of modernization/balance. asset wise it looks very close to the originals though.

Always forget to mention Puzzle and Cute Girls. Gets pretty demanding with teams and playing at higher levels like Challenge 10 dungeons or, fuck my life, Ultimate Arena. Particularly if you're using leads like Anubis, but the satisfaction of seeing "Combo 12 (x100)" is too great.
Pretty easy on freebies too since they hand out stones regularly and with the stamina counter so low now you can easily play as and when.

It's great because it's not a themepark MMO, there's a lot of movesets to obtain, loads of hidden shit that most people don't use or even know about, and it's styles like chinese martal arts movies.
It's bad because the US version is run by retarded money-grubbing chinks, the game like all MMOs eventually turns to grind, it's surprisingly easy to pay2win, you're slow to get strong and all of the money-tossing SEA shitters are ungodly powerful already.
if you wanna play it for a month or two, it's not a bad game; if you expect to become a big shot after that month, you're probably fucked in the head.

Depends on how you look at it. They recently added a greatsword type weapon that overshadows all but one that was already overshadowing the rest in its category. A one hand sword is its twice as powerful as the next powerful sword and the new crossbow is basically a 100% improvement of its predecessor by quite a margin. There are also 3 new weapons with passive skills and two of them are quite powerful. Basically their balancing is terrible and things are either useless or quite a step above the rest with few falling in the middle.
I really do enjoy the base game but there are other problems like the devs not addressing things like they say the would.
The focus system for example is new and a terrible fucking grind with fuck all reward. Only 3 of the 7(?) trees are even worth a shit and that's only for like 3 skills of 15ish.
There elimination game mode which is just kill everything was broken for some time forcing you to constantly backtrack for the enemies to spawn and they made excavation take twice as long.
Focus was also apparently meant to work with shared experience so that it would collect faster but that hasn't been fixed since the introduction of it which was months ago.
I could go on but I think I got the idea across. The devs don't really fix things they introduce they just kind of keep going and ignore issues.

The only thing I bought with money was a Giant Card for the merlin update because I didn't feel like going through another grind to have a reroll to play a mage giant. Throwing impossible odds at you is now mabs, and now with the removal of the chance for items to drop I have nothing to fear in combat. So I have truly realized how much this game was designed to kill you.

It feels like a single player game with a dungeon side game that adds random NPCs to your party (if it's a low level dungeon, there's a 45% or better chance a high level player will be in your group and effortlessly solo the dungeon in seconds, which is good or bad depending on your perspective)
Soloing bosses is REALLY fun, but not actually worth it, kinda like the feeling of pre-nerf Tera BAMs
It's not a bad time waster, just be prepare for convuluted weirdness (example: the weapons and trinkets you get at the start of the game you keep upgrading by feeding it crap weapons til endgame)

Unfortunately it's been casualized to shit as Victoria Island's been neutered in size since the Big Bang update and there really isn't much unique to new classes save for general aesthetics. I like some of the class revamps, Thunder Breakers have been fun as all absolute fuck since the Cygnus Knights were made into proper classes instead of basically trainees to get a feel for the game and then move onto Explorers. The game railroads you for a bit then around level 16 it just kinda dumps and you assumes you know what to do next at quite a few points, but the archetypes you get as a free more or less cover some of the basic types of build you can use, and they're all role-focused.
PvE's not that hard, just take some time to learn what you pick and how to manage your powers. Also, the shift key is used to block.
You'll definitely wanna put down for a hideout. Account storage, move stuff between toons.

I'm on hiatus right now, but I played enough Infinity to get the F-15C to level 11, F-16XL to 8, and F-15E to 7. I'm thinking that when I do go back, I'd like to work on one more plane from each category. Probably the F/A-18 because that plane and F-15s are fond memories of my childhood. I don't know what else I'd go for though. I'm definitely not going to try and level up a special plane, not even a 1 star piece of crap. There's so many sexy Fighter jets to choose from even though I've got my F-15C set, so I kind of want to pick up something that will cover my current weakness. I think I need a 4AAM or 6AAM plane since I can cover distance with SAAM and knife fight with HPAA. I don't know any Attacker category planes I want to sink my teeth into. Maybe the Harrier, but its base stats seem like crap, and I don't know any opportunities to use its hover feature. I think I put a little work into the A-10, got it to 7, but I never seem to do great in the old bird. I'd like something a little faster. I guess the 16XL spoiled me.

I think I was at the point where I was trying to make my way through the first few Technical dungeons. I don't remember what my team was, but I do remember spending a few Tuesdays in Normal fire dungeons trying to get snek because apparently it makes life a lot easier. Never did get one. I think I had Osiris as my starter.
Yeah, I was just trying to level up all my team members and kind of just lost interest. I think part of it was because I went way too far on the autism scale and farmed up a bunch of weak ass monsters from a special event that evolved into a weak ass monster but had a good active skill. That's probably what burned me out, leveling those things up, farming evolve mats, and mashing them together hoping for skill level ups.

Non-Shit: Gameplay is rock solid, Netcode is decent, Tanks are gradually being redone in HD. The game will run on almost anything. You gradually feel yourself getting better as you learn more about reload times, maps, minimap awareness, tank strengths/weakneses

and after you beat an adventure there's no replayability in them, you're back to multiplayer. if they would do something like tavern brawl for adventures (1 pack per week for each completed adventure) that would certainly be fun, but they probably don't do it since it would divert players from the multiplayer

I think the problem is that, "grind" is a state of mind, not a descriptive activity. Since, when it comes right down to it, almost every single activity in every aspect of a game is a grind, depending on how you parse it.
Playing Monster Hunter or Street Fighter, each individual fight is more or less the same as any other fight. But you are doing it because the activity itself is enjoyable or valuable to you.
The problem of a "grind" is that it tends to be painful in the sense that you have to do some activity that you DON'T want to do (the grind) to get to the part of the game that you do want to play (the part that is valuable for it's own sake).
I think there is something disingenuous about calling warframe a grind since there isn't some noticeably different "end game" that you are grinding to. If you don't enjoy the activities or mission types at the start, you aren't going to suddenly enjoy them later. So only someone who plays games in an autistic manner would stick through and "grind" the game.
Because it then begs the question: if you aren't enjoying yourself, and you aren't getting to a part you think will be enjoyable, then why are you playing?

I had downloaded Path of Exile, Fallen Earth, Tera, and Aura Kingdom. The only one that seemed halfway decent out of those was Path of Exile, and I don't like Diablo style top-down click-spam. Tera couldn't preform worth a shit on my PC for some reason. Fallen Earth looked like it might be a reasonable "New Vegas but online" game - and it certainly hit all the right marks for all the wrong reasons. Like one of those cheap eastern european ripoffs of popular western media.The whole thing felt like a really cheap and lazy cash-in with shit tutorials and no real character planning - so you're pretty much guaranteed to fuck up your first build. I really liked Aura Kingdom's artistic style, but the interface/controls felt like a clusterfuck. Plus I heard that they tend to ban people who don't buy from their cash shop.

Played this a lot last year. Art style is beautiful, but the interface is indeed a clusterfuck. Is fun to play until you reach level 60 afther that leveling or getting enought money for good equipment becomes a hastle, and it becames really repetitive. Guessing is probably a way to get people to buy cash. Also not sure if they actually have started banning you, but I know they delete inactive characters every 3 or 4 months. Also Endless Tower became shit when they added a private alternative for big Guilds.
Other free shit I have been playing recently:
Eden Eternal: Same shit as Aura Kingdom.
Alien Swarm: Fun game, too short sadly, but there is around 2gbs of fan made maps I want to test.
APB reloaded: Fun if you actually have people to play with, if not you will find yourself trapped on an endless loop of leveling just to buy clothes for your character in a mostly empty server.
Brawlhalla. Budget Smash bros. with Flash game tier graphics and messed up physics.
You have to grind money to buy characters that play mostly the same, so you will end buying them for their physical appareance. Again only fun if you have people to play with.

Unless you plan to shell out for a freeform slot or pay a subscription it's not worth playing. The free Archetypes you can choose from are shit builds designed by the devs to be inferior across the board.
Even if you only want to try out the character customization it's still not worth it as you get shit for costume part choices until you reach a certain level, usually until after you've cleared Westside.
If you're still not convinced then just wait until you get inevitably reported for ridiculous shit like looking like another players OC. The GMs, most of the playerbase and even the devs are a special brand of sjw that have no problem punishing players for retarded shit like that.
There used to be set guidelines about what could and couldn't be reported as far as character costumes and names were concerned. That all flew out the window when the old forums died and the guideline page disappeared with it. All hope was lost when GMs were not only banning players for having characters with names like Major Cleaveage(female Soldier AT with a bikini top) but also altering the "offending" characters back to the generic blue/yellow default costumes and changing the names to shit like BadName01. There was also an overly opinionated brony on the forums that became a dev and started making ridiculous power alterations in the name of gameplay balance.
Just avoid the game. You'll be happier.

I've started playing Uncharted Waters Online again recently after barely touching it three years ago. The idea of a trading/exlporation sim in the Colonial Era sounds comfy af and I like the way the individual mechanics work.
