Well, feels music thread

 No.2300

Bowie's death still hurts. I cried watching this the other day: https://vimeo.com/53207758

I usually can't relate to music about love and relationships. An exception is music by Pulp. Their music I can feel somehow, even if it is sometimes from the perspective from a woman.

>I couldn't stop it now

>There's no way to get out

>He's standing far too near

>How the hell did you get here?

>Semi-naked in somebody else's room

>I'd give my whole life to see it

>Just you stood there

>only in your underwear

Positive music about sex makes me sad sometimes.

>now our bodies are oh so close and tight

>it never felt so wrong it never felt to right

>all the boys at school were wishing they were me that night

Even if it makes me sad I love it. Good music makes me happy because it makes me feel.

>All night

>She wants a young American

>Young American, young American, she wants the young American

>All right

>She wants the young American

I don't want to hate,

I just want to grow;

why can't I let me

live and be free?..but I die very slowly alone.

I know no more ways,

I am so afraid,

myself won't let me

just be myself and so I am completely alone….

The maelstrom of my memory

is a vampire and it feeds on me

now, staggering madly, over the brink I

fall.

>rock n roll suicide

Rock n Roll suicide always has me rolling on the floor by the time he says

>OH NO LOVE, YOU'RE NOT ALONE

for the first time.

Lazarus is pretty feels-worthy, too. Ironically, it's his death song and it's not quite as emotional as something like vid related.

Every time I listen to this I think of some Vampie putting his cape over his mouth and slowly descending down the stairs, and when the last note plays he falls down and starts dying.

>>2423

Space Oddity did a good job capturing the feeling of slowly being isolated from the world. A lot of people think it's actually about drugs, but I think it's open to interpretation.

>I think my spaceship knows which way to go

this line always gets to me, as inevitable departure from everything and everyone else that you can't control. Shit sucks.

I'd like to take a moment to appreciate the Tears for Fears Mad World.

Most normalfags tend to like Gary Jules' cover a little better because it sounds "sadder". Thing is, they kinda miss the point in that it's actually supposed to sound MAD instead SAD. The Tears for Fears version perfectly puts in a tone for a world that's been distorted and turned upside down, meanwhile Gary Jules just makes it sound a little edgy.

Can normalfags not comprehend negative emotions beyond angry and sad?

 No.2468

>>2447

Fuck, I was about to post the same thing. I prefer TFF version as well, as it adds to the song a deeper meaning and is much beyond the Gary Jules superficial version. Normalfags have dulled, or can only comprehend very simple emotions, so the beauty of this song is unknown to them.

Normalfags have ruined the music industry with their petty autotune bullshit that comes out today, and is not art in the slightest. Just manufactured, lifeless songs about consumerism, devoid of any actual meaning.

Reminder that Bowie shit openly and unashamedly on the entire hippie movement after learning it was nothing but cheap slogans and faux-humanitarianism and in turn shat on the whole leftist movement & the individualism that comes with it, you have many people celebrating their separate entities while trying to come together as one but the whole thing falls apart. Bowie thought everyone would have a place and be remembered but it's just taking whatever passion people pour into it and discard it for the next for a cheap rush, they were heartless husks with human skin there for the easy rhetoric attracted to the mindless mob mentality, he found there was no true unity in it all which is why he leaned on fascism in the 70s where he saw the remedy for all these twigs trying to be the top of the pile of branches. In order for everyone's voice to be heard they must come together as one mind and voice instead of timidness of trying not to hurt anyone's feelings while at the same time trying to be the top, committed to a common goal. The hippies were unintentionally authoritarian promoting peace & love that had a subjective vision to it i.e. be "nice" or get sent to happy camps where Bowie saw that the authoritarianism of his flavor is used to unite men to a common goal where they could pour their thoughts into the cauldron they made, the authoritarian control that was necessary to live on this planet and its nature. My thinking is scrambled right now but it's fucking ballsy he did this at the height of the hippie era.

>I bless you madly

>Sadly as I tie my shoes

>I love you badly

>Just in time, at times, I guess

>Because of you I need to rest

>Because it's you that sets the test

>So much has gone and little is new

>And as the sparrow sings

>Dawn chorus for someone else to hear

>The Thinker sits alone growing older and so bitter

>I gave them life

>I gave them all

>They drained my very soul dry

>I crushed my heart to ease their pains

>No thought for me remains there

>Nothing can they spare

>What of me?

>Who praised Their efforts to be free?

>Words of strength and care and sympathy

>I opened doors that would have blocked Their way

I braved their cause to guide, for little pay

>I ravaged at my finance just for Those

>Those whose claims were steeped in peace, tranquility

>Those who said a new world, new ways ever free

>Those whose promises stretched in hope and grace for me"

>I bless you madly,

>Sadly as I tie my shoes

>I love you badly, just in time, at times, I guess

>Because of you I need to rest, oh yes

>Because it's you that sets the test

>So much has gone

>And little is new

>And as the sunrise stream flickers on me

>My friends talk

>Of glory, untold dream, where all is God and God is just a word

>"We had a friend, a talking man

>Who spoke of many powers that he had

>Not of the best of men, but ours

>We used him

>We let him use his powers

>We let him fill our needs

>Now we are strong

>And the road is coming to its end

>Now the damned have no time to make amends

>No purse of token fortune stands in Our way

>The silent guns of love will blast the sky

>We broke the ruptured structure built of age

>Our weapons were the tongues of crying rage

>Where money stood

>We planted seeds of rebirth

>And stabbed the backs of fathers

>Sons of dirt

>Infiltrated business cesspools

>'Kick Out Your Mother'

>'Cut Up Your Friend'

>'Screw Up Your Brother or He'll Get You In the End'

>And We Know the Flag of Love is from Above

>And We Can Force You to Be Free

>And We Can Force You to Believe"

>And I close my eyes and tighten up my brain

>For I once read a book in which the lovers were slain

>For they knew not the words of the Free States' refrain

>It said:

>"I believe in the Power of Good

>I Believe in the State of Love

>I Will Fight For the Right to be Right

>I Will Kill for the Good of the Fight for the Right to be Right"

>And I open my eyes to look around

>And I see a child laid slain on the ground

>As a love machine lumbers through desolation rows

>Plowing down man, woman, listening to its command

>But not hearing anymore

>Not hearing anymore

>Just the shrieks from the old rich

>And I Want to Believe

>In the madness that calls 'Now'

>And I want to Believe

>That a light's shining through somehow

I'll copypaste Yes this is OP and yes I'm unhealthily obsessed with David Bowie. It's part of my Autism. I want it to stop but his character is too charming and his music's too good

Holy shit, this. Cygnet Committee is COMPLETE relevant to today's society.

>"I believe in the power of good,

>I believe in the state of love,

>I will fight for the right to right,

>I will kill for the good of the fight for the right to be right,

>but I open my eyes to look around,

>and I see a child laying slain the ground"

This was back in '69 when dirty Hippies were stinking up the place and pushing their beliefs on people. These 6 lines in particular always get to me though, because it's about the absurd measures they'll take to accomplish what's supposed to be a good cause. The child laying slain on the ground was killed for the good of the fight for the right to be right.

It was relevant back then, and it's relevant now.

I thought it was the protagonist's neighbor and she spent a lot of time at their house or it was a metaphor between a connection between siblings which is supported by Two-Headed Boy.

Four and twenty years ago, I come into this life

The song of a woman and a man who lived in strife

He was tired of being poor

And he wasn't into selling door to door

And he worked like the devil to be more

A different kind of poverty now upsets me so

Night after sleepless night, I walk the floor

And I want to know- why am I so alone?

Where is my woman can I bring her home

Have I driven her away? Is she gone?

Morning comes to sunrise and I'm driven to my bed.

I see that it is empty and there's devils in my head

I embrace the many colored beast

I grow weary of the torment, can there be no peace?

And I find myself just wishing that my life would simply cease
