Why do you guys make a hobby out of slowly killing yourselves? Do you just lack the willpower to simply quit smoking?
Pic related its what people see you as

The ingredients to vape liquids are Nicotine, PG (propylene glycol), VG (vegetable glycerin) and flavoring.

While the ingredients in your typical cigarette is in the thousands.

Vaping is a nigger ass ton safer than normal smoking, the only thing remotely bad for you is the nicotine. There's a possibility of allergic reactions to one of the 4 ingredients but that's about it.

Now if your talking Weed vaping i can;t help ya.

As far as slowly killing ourselves. We die a little bit each day Anon. No one escapes death.

>the only thing remotely bad for you is the nicotine
Well even then we're not sure if nicotine is bad for you besides being addictive.

It's odd but despite half a century of incredibly in-depth research into tobacco and its possible pros and cons, very little research has been done on nicotine itself to determine if it's dangerous. From what we can tell it might actually be okay - it seems to help improve brain function and memorization, while functioning as a mild stimulant.
And by itself it isn't anywhere near as addictive as it is in tobacco. There are apparently various compounds in tobacco which when burned function as a MAOI of sorts, and that's where the addiction potential might be. Not to say that nicotine isn't addictive at all, it definitely is - just not so much by itself.

i've actually read online (can't verify source) that vaping above a certain wattage chemically alters the ingredients into some carcinogens; but still nowhere near as much as cigarettes.

592024 No.1049

I hate threads like these, there are no facts that vaping is harmful in any way, and since there are no weird chemicals and no burning at all, it is pretty much safe.

Are you serious right now?
Jesus Christ 0/10 if serious 11/10 if troll.

Nicotine causes your blood vessels to constrict.
The Nicotine is one of the main reasons for cardiovascular disease due to smoking.

>>1049
You too?
Holy shit man, I can't handle the ignorance.
Read above.
Nicotine is poison.
It is a natural pesticide. It's purpose is to kill things. It's not good for you.
If you want to go the no nic route:
Vaping also has some strong links to things like phenomena. Correlation =/= causation, but it's interesting and I would like to see more done on it.

I've seen this article and if I remember correctly it was a certain ingredient, used in some flavoring for juices, at a specific wattage.
Even then, it would still be well below the FDA's threshold so they would consider it safe for humans.
Not worth worrying about at all.

Now I vape, and I enjoy it. I smoked for quite a while and had quit twice. Somehow I always ended up with just one and fell back into the fold.
Vaping is also better taste with more convenience for me. I have already dropped my nic level once while vaping so it is a way to rid yourself of nicotine addiction altogether.
For a lot of us this isn't a leap to changing ourselves, it's a journey and having it be a hobby and having a community like this around it is a great way to see other people in similar situations to keep going. Make it fun, don't fall back into cigarettes and keep moving forward one step at a time.

Vaping would seem to be a safer alternative to smoking although the research still needs to be done. A lot of the research is probably years away because to do research you need people who have been vaping for years to study.
Now just first glance stuff. Cigarettes have, I believe, 45 known carcinogens. I'm not sure if nicotine is one of them. If it is, we cut 44. Not bad if you ask me.

But you faggots have got to stop being complete retards doing dangerous shit without finding out the risks then just pretending that there aren't any risks.

God damn.

here's a Safety evaluation and risk assessment of electronic cigarettes as tobacco cigarette substitutes: a systematic review

"Existing evidence indicates that EC use is by far a less harmful alternative to smoking. There is no tobacco and no combustion involved in EC use; therefore, regular vapers may avoid several harmful toxic chemicals that are typically present in the smoke of tobacco cigarettes. Indeed, some toxic chemicals are released in the EC vapor as well, but their levels are substantially lower compared with tobacco smoke, and in some cases (such as nitrosamines) are comparable with the amounts found in pharmaceutical nicotine products."

Good read, thanks austrailianon
