Hey, Im new to RDAs and dont want to rape my face with a battery because I dont know what I am doing. I feel that I have a pretty good understanding but just want to run some numbers by people who are more experienced with this shit. I will be running an Efest Purple IMR 18650 20A 3100mAh 3.7v flat top and am wondering how hard I can push it. After calculating, the lowest ohms I can go is .21 and thats at the batteries top limit of pushing 20 amps. I will most likely be running around .3 or so ohms so I should be fine (or so I think). Please correct me if I am wrong.

You'll be fine

Just run your coils down to .25 and you'll be fine. As long as you don't do something dumb everything should work out correctly.

Definitely not a 20 amp battery, more like maaaaaybe a 10 amp one. Nothing new, Efest lies about ratings.

I'd build it down to 0.4 Ohm minimum, otherwise it's not safe.

9647bf No.2250

yeah just saw a leddit post about the batteries.

Definitely not 20A batteries. OP, I would get something better. VTC4, HE2, or Samsung 25R.

>VTC4

Good luck finding authentic ones. Don't recommend those to new people since they more likely than not will end up with some rewrapped trustfire shit.

thanks I did some research and found out about how 10 amps is around the continuous discharge rate. Also I found some VTC4s and VTC5s on amazon which I would assume are legit. I do have some time tho because I just ordered a tugboat v2 clone from fasttech so should be here in around 2 to 3 weeks so no rush on getting some different batteries.

I was considering getting some mxjo 18650s. The link for these is http://www.amazon.com/MXJO-18650-2500mAh-drain-Battery/dp/B00N793Z30/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1421714190&sr=8-2&keywords=mxjo+18650+imr Would this be a good alternative to the vtc4 and vtc5s? Also are there any good alternatives to the vvtc4s and vtc5s

Fuck Sonys, acquire Samsung 25Rs.

I don't trust rebranded shit.

>>2257

Not much rebranding when the data sheet specifies what cell it is precisely.

RTD Vapor is a good supplier, they carry legit products.

I want to do RDA, but it seems so complicated. Either the advice is to buy something pre-made, or is so complicated it goes over my head.

What types of wire, wick, and RDA combinations work? (Google hasn't given me clear enough info.)

Does getting pic related mean I can build a coil and test the atomizer to determine the voltage to which the battery should be set?

Also, babby's forest box mod. I want variable voltage, but other than that all I know it's I don't want something I'll break with my newfaggotry.

I currently have a non-adjustable ego battery which is I think 650mAh capacity and 3.7V output.

The clearomizer has a bottom coil/wick that you can change.

Sometimes my juice tastes burnt-ish.

>Does building your own coils and wicks actually end up saving money?

db0fda No.2278

>>2277
Okay so I just learned from >>2219 that RDA is for dripping, and RBA is for use with a tank. I want to be able to do both. Tanks because dripping is not very portable. Dripping because it is good for tasting a new juice or just any juice that occasional enough not to need a tank.

Yes building your own coils saves money. I bought a bunch of wire and cotton and rayon and I have more than I will ever use now. Like seriously I probably have a 5 or 10 year supply just getting different wires to try. They aren't expensive, I probably paid $14 for the giant box of rayon, more than I will use in my lifetime, $5 for a giant bag of cotton balls (this is the only thing I will need more of, and probably not for a year or two), and $8 for each spool of wire. This stuff is absolutely cheap compared to what you will end up spending on any sort of box mod.

Just get a small bundle of organic cotton balls and a thing of 28g kanthal.

Wrapping coils is easy and if you get a regulated box mod you don't actually have to worry all that much about ohms other than getting it over the minimum limit for your box mod.
