Hey /vape/, I have a few questions. I want to get into vaping, but i don't really know what to do. I have this battery (pic related) a friend gave me, but nothing else.I was wondering what's up with all the different attachments? Like what exactly is a cartomiser, clearomiser, glassomiser, ect. Also, I hear ohms, watts, and voltages being thrown around. I know what that is and Ohm's law and all that, but how does each individual thing affect the vape? My final thing is I could also use help putting together a budget vape. I've never avidly smoked cigarettes, and I'm only vaping to play with smoke. I'm looking for something that has decent/good flavor, and can produce decent clouds with low maintenance (no RDAs). I already have a battery, so a tank is my priority, but I plan on getting a better battery if you guys thik i should.

get yourself a Nautilus and some spare coils its something you wont outgrow when you upgrade your mod and its very noob friendly straight forward with decent vapor production and good flavors

Alright, thanks. My friend keeps telling me his kraken is way better, but i'll trust you guys. Also, what's up with sob-ohm shit?

get yourself a decent mod and be sure you you are really into vaping and are gonna stick with it before you start spending money on getting into sub ohming and cloud chasing

I wouldn't worry about sub-ohming. With regulated box mods that reach 50~150w and RTA/RDAs, you can get satisfying clouds and tons of flavor. Sub-Ohming raises your risk factor by quite a lot. Not only do you increase the risk of a battery failure turning your mod into a pipe bomb, but until the flavoring agents have been demonstrated to be safe for inhalations at those volumes and when exposed to that kind of heat, it's probably not a good idea to try to pack excessive amounts into your lungs.

At least until you're not such a noob and are more fully aware of the risks and how much of one you're willing to take.

Nautilus is a good choice. Buying coils gets to be a pain in the dick, so I'd suggest a Kayfun or preferably Lemo to step up and experiment with building your own coils.

Steer away from creamy, buttery, custardy, and excessively sweet flavors too if you can help it. There's a number of flavoring agents used in those that are KNOWN to cause problems, and there aren't really any good substitutes yet (IIRC) which give the same rich flavor without potentially obliterating your lungs.

When you say box mod, you just mean those box shaped batteries right? And what is cloud chasing? Also, I heard from my friend that green apple is amazing. Any other good recommendations? I'll look into the Lemo and Kayfun

>Kayfun or preferably Lemo
Digging the Lemo a lot more, plus it's cheaper. What type of voltages should I be running through it?

f49807 No.2624

>>2620
Don't get a Kayfun or a Lemo or anything rebuildable for that matter. It's not noob-friendly. Stick with an Aspire Nautilus Mini (or the big one, it will look ridiculous on that battery though). Nautilus coils can be used at 6V with no problems, but you just have to find your sweet spot. There is no "perfect voltage for everyone".

9e47d2 No.2629

>>2620
It would depend on the coil you build. Like >>2624 said, it's not noob friendly. It's not difficult to pick up either, but you'll want something already workable in the mean-time while you learn. Start off with the Aspire Nautilus and then buy a Lemo a little later down the line. You'll probably want to wait until you get a box mod before getting the Lemo anyhow, since that spinner stick in your pic probably won't be able to push it.

For the nautilus, the coils are pre-built, so just adjust your voltage until you get a decent hit and without any burned flavor. Keep in mind that thicker juices (higher VG) will take longer to wick up, and hitting it too often can cause it to taste burnt regardless of voltage. Stick to thinner juices with a higher PG ratio. PG gives you better flavor, but some people are allergic to it and it can irritate your lungs. VG is much smoother and produces more vapor, but doesn't carry flavor as well.

Since it doesn't sound like you're a smoker, make sure you get the 0mg juices. There's no sense in risking getting addicted to nicotine, and it'll taste way better.

Alright. So you guys are sure the regular Nautilus will fit my battery? I don't care if it looks weird. And yea, I planned on getting 0mg juice. I hate when i use my friends', that shit burns my throat

c8fdae No.2634

Also, any recommended sites to order from? I was thinking about ordering off of viper vape

I love this thing, thanks guys!

Welp, i'm going to bump this up again. Now I need to find a good box mod. What 'a really nice one for under $80 or so? Once I buy it i'm going to save up and get a Lemo, and i don't plan on ever upgrading anything anymore, so it has to last.

I've been using the Smok Xpro M35 (upgraded to 45 watts) and I'm pretty happy with it. It's affordable (mine only ran about $45), the battery will last all day if you're not constantly using it, and it has plenty of options for experimenting - being able to fire down to 0.2 ohms and having an optional mech-mode.

I had been waiting on the MVP 3.0, which has a much longer battery life and a USB out so that you can charge other devices off of it. I rarely used that feature on the MVP 2.0, but it's nice to have the option if you're stuck out in the middle of no-where and your cell-phone is dying. The MVP 3 only goes up to 30 watts though, and it's substantially bigger and heavier. It's built like a tank though, and can take some substantial punishment.

Both boxes are regulated, and both have pass-though charging so you can use it while it's plugged in. Even though the charge on the Xpro isn't as long - it has a removable bottom so you can buy spare batteries and have the extra one on the charger. The bottom is kind of a pain in the ass to remove though. The MVP is a sealed unit, IIRC (at least, the 2.0 was) so you have to plug it into a wall outlet when it starts dying.

If you find an Xpro 35 or 50 for a decent price online or at a local shop - make sure it's upgraded. Personally, I've never gone over 25 watts, but if you can get 10 to 15 extra for free, you might as well.

If I was you, I'd go with the Xpro, since it has more power and more options to expand, but it may not be as durable or solidly constructed as the MVP.

>i don't plan on ever upgrading anything anymore

Ha ha. Nobody ever does, anon.

4ed0e2 No.2700

>>2698
Alright. And when i said i won't upgrade anymore, i mean that after buying a box mod, I don't plan on buying a more expensive/better one in the future.

9e47d2 No.2704

>>2700
I know, but gadgetry has a way of hooking you. And you never know what innovations are going to come down the pipe. It's still kind of a fledgling industry, and the quality of the products just keep improving.

Also, you might want to give the iLeaf 50w box a look. I can't vouch for it personally, since I never used one, but they're really popular - and one of the more inexpensive box mods out there. It has a 4400mAh battery - which I think is more than the Smok Xpro, and should last you all day - but it's not interchangeable the way Xpro's is.

f12ec0 No.2708

>>2704
So I plan on getting the Eleaf and Lemo Drop when i get some spare cash. Are there any really good guides out there for coil building that contain all the info i need about volts/watts/ect?

f12ec0 No.2709

And one thing i'm unsure about, is the adjustable airflow. Why would anyone want a smaller airflow?
