yes a single 18650 can easily put out 50 watts ill try to explain the difference between a mech and a VV/VW device to you the best that i can
(but im no expert and i have little to no experience with VV/VW devices)
if a device is VV/VW it means it has variable voltage and or variable wattage meaning that you can adjust the wattage and or voltage like on the istick 50w they also have chips in them that prevent them from firing if the coils you build in your atomizer have to low of resistance…
for example lets say you build some low resistance coils that come to 0.12 ohms that build would require assuming your device is firing at 3.7 volts
114 watts
30 amps
which is above what the istick 50w can handle so if you put a 0.12 ohm build on it and pressed the button nothing would happen VV/WW devices also tend to have chips in them that prevent you from over draining your batteries on a full charge a 18650 should hold close to 4.2 volts and as you use the battery it drains the voltage, if you drain it to low around 2.8-5 volts it can damage the battery but most VV/VW devices have chips and circuits in them that prevent that from happening
mechs on the other hand are pretty straight forward the battery sit in a metal tube the batterys positive connection is always making contact to a pin connected to the atomizer while the bottom of the battery is hovering over the bottom of the the mech mod not touching anything when you press in the button on the bottom it pushes up a metal pin that touches the bottom of the battery which completes the circuit and activates the battery heating up the coils
there are no circuits or chips the only limiting factor of what you can build are your batteries… for example lets say you put that same 0.12 ohm build that we figuratively put on the istick 50w onto your mech with the battery charged at 3.7 volts again it would require
30 amps
114 watts
which is the same as before however on the mech it WOULD fire when you pressed the button because there are no circuits/chips from stopping it… HOWEVER lets say you have a really shitty 18650 is it thats rated at 5amps ok ? so we put that same 0.12 ohm build onto your mech with a 5amp 18650 battery inside… that 0.12 ohm build requires 30 amps remember ? well your battery only goes up to 5amps and there are no protective circuits in a mech mod to stop it from firing so when you press down the button on the mech it will complete the circuit and your battery wont be able to handle it so itll short out and could get extremely hot it might drain itself completely in a matter of seconds ruining the battery or it could vent (blow the fuck up) or all three thats what i mean when i say the batteries are the only limiting factors in mech mods as long as you get good batteries though you should be fine
