I'm pretty sure that some people have done this before, but I took some time in the past couple of days to mess with some Genesis songs into the Undertale soundtrack. This is a very simple mod, without any modification to the game's code and data.
Which brings me here. I'm looking for some more experienced Undertale players AND Genesis fans for any song choices in which setting, scenerio, or event in the game. I've only finished a Neutral run and trying to complete a Pacifist run at the moment (but my schedule was taken up, plus my interest in playing Undertale isn't as high as the first week I bought it), so I guess I'm risking myself to spoilers. Although, I can't seem to avoid an Undertale spoiler when I look up the game.
Here's most of the track changes I did so far:
>"Dance on a Volcano" plays in the cinematic that plays when you open the game.
>The drum machine intro to "Duchess" is looped on the start menu. As you befriend characters throughout the game, the instrumentation is spiced up a little. If one reaches the ending in True Pacifist, the main body of the song (verse, chorus, verse) will loop in the menu.
>During Toriel's independence test, the opening drum machine and synth from "Mama" will loop, restoring the 'unnecessary tension' from the original score.
>"From the Undertow" as it appears on Synth Jew' solo album A Curious Feeling will play in its entirety during the "battle" with Toriel. Changes the mood impressively.
>The Waterfall theme is replaced with the entirety of "Heathaze." I was debating if "Ripples" would be a better selection for Waterfall.
>The top floor in New Home is "Undertow" in its entirety, though I'm pretty sure the player wouldn't stick around for the whole song.
>The basement in New Home plays the entirety of the Genesis song most associated with the game, "Afterglow." StPost too long. Click here to view the full text.
