Confusion is an attention whore.

Ved is nothing more than a collection of fatherless diaperfur faggots.
Carry on, /scg/.

http://www.dsogaming.com/interviews/cloud-imperium-on-star-citizen-mods-pc-exclusivity-graphical-features-directx12-multi-core-cpus/Short summary:
>Sean Tracy talks about how without the pressure to design with consoles then port to PC they have a lot of hardware to work with.
>Requirements for a port to console in the far future still haven't changed (must be able to run it, CIG needs the ability to deploy patches whenever it wants, if it requires damaging the PC version in any way its a no-go.)
>z-buffer is being upgraded from 16bit to 32bit. This is what's going to allow for rendering objects at greater distances, while preventing z-fighting on the small scale of the first-person cockpit.
>Cryengine internal systems are being moved to 64 bit double precision. This is what's going to allow for system sized maps, the millions of kms Chris has been talking about.
>SC is planning to take advantage of as many CPU cores as it can (looking ahead to hexa-cores and octa-cores.) The game is probably going to end up GPU bound, though.
>Question about Mantle vs. Open GL vs. Direct3d. Says each have their idiosyncrasies, thinks DX12 is going to be pretty good.
>CryTek is working on things like PhysX integration and engine updates for them, but CIG can create its own tools in necessary.
>SC might not support DX10 cards (not really a revelation here.)
>applicable geometry uses cryengine adaptive tessellation.Other slightly interesting tidbits:
>PS4 slightly less shit as a dev platform than the PS3
>Tracy really wants good modding tools due to his history as a modder and working on Living Legends
>Was pretty pissed off at CryTek for it's financial mishandling and stagnant game development before jumping ship to CIG. No.4496

This week's Around the Ben:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0h4mIV2J9GgZane is the interview, he seems pretty hyped for custom UIs and trying to spend as much time in-game dealing with your ships, remaining in first person even when doing things like choosing a ship's settings or modifying preferences (he kept repeating "diagetic" over and over again)

>>5271I've got some parts of the thread saved. They're really large so I'll have to add it to an imgur album:
http://imgur.com/a/zcu0UIt's important to note, though, that this incident didn't just comprise this one thread. It spanned a number of threads created by goons in the wake of this one being closed, a bunch of posting by goons in their org thread. The really big stuff actually took place off site; Lauresh (the creator of the original thread) made a blog post (
https://archive.today/26ybq) then the goons started to viral it really hard, getting it posted to Neogaf, the inevitable Mitanni article, and lobbying people to report on it. Goons got a couple of articles written about this, pushing the 'sexism in SC' narrative. Then there was a lot of high-profile goons posting on twitter about it, and making posts to reddit. Here's a reddit post made by goons in the immidiate fallout:
https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/24rfhd/sexism_in_star_citizenforum_member_banned_for/The reddit thread is full of goons shilling their "women are oppressed/ moderators are corrupt/ goons are persecuted innocents who should have a say in how the forums are run" line. Ironically, the reddit thread is basically full of redditors calling the goons out on their shit. Here's a pretty good summary of what the goons were attempting to do:
https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/24rfhd/sexism_in_star_citizenforum_member_banned_for/chai5rzThere was a later exchange between some high-profile goons and Ben on the forums and chatroll, cumulating in their shitposting campaign to label Ben as sexist and get him removed after he shut them down, and eventually Ben wrote that big post on the forums about women in MMOs.
This wasn't the first time the goons tried to stir shit on the forums as part of a powergrab, and it won't be the last. There's a lot of evidence I forgot to save at the time. One of the big arguments was whether or not Lauresh (the OP of the thread) was trolling (Some members of SA certainly were trolling, but there was debate about Lauresh specifically.) Someone had found their old RSI profile bio, which included jokes about miscarriages or abortion or some shit, and was able to make a pretty convincing case that Lauresh was, in fact, trolling intentionally and had been doing so in the past.
It's also worth noting the goons tried this exact same shit with an "LGBT Gamers" thread a couple months before this incident, but got shut down that time too, and many goons probably held a grudge against Ben for calling them out on their shit that time before.
Also, fucking please don't get sucked into arguments with goons over this shit, it only encourages them.

Anyone have both this game and elite: dangerous and care to compare them?
No.5771
>>5611Yep, you can still get the game.
They ran out of free alpha slots around 350,000 players ago, so just buying the game will give you both the finished game and beta access (when the beta is released.)
You can also buy a module pass for 5 bucks to get into the alpha right now, but this is only advisable if you want to alpha test the game.
