Dark Souls 1 newb here. Started the game and spent literally an hour or two practicing riposte in the very first level of the game. Fucking cakewalk.

another thing to note is tendency is tied to the average server world tendency of all the players. So if you wanna reach pure white world, you have to play offline.
Basically to control tendency and reach all the content in the game you have to do this.
1. Start the game offline and never go online
2. When you kill a boss and become human, go into the Nexus and drop from a high point, killing yourself. If you die in the Nexus, it doesn't affect tendency anywhere else because Nexus is always neutral. That way you don't have to risk tendency dropping if you fuck up in any of the world while human.
Once you've killed at least 3 bosses or any Archdemon of a single world, you'll hit Pure White world and you can check here for any events and items that have been unlocked:

This so they can farm a Pure Blade Stone (fucking rare as fuck, over 500 hours in my games and still haven't seen it) from Black Phantom Skeletons in 4-2
Then, you can go online and the world tendencies of your game will be adjusted according to the average of everyone elses.
I'd recommend you try this on NG+ because you might not be able to reach Pure White if you've killed too many bosses in one world. Its actually a great mechanic because theres so much secret stuff, unfortunately the game doesn't explain how it works at all.
