The Grandma updates seem to be less OP than they used to. Each successive tier needs an extra grandma fore the bonus, Farms get 1% for every two Grandmas, Mines get 1% every three and so forth all the way up to Prisms which need 11 Grandmas for the same boost. On that note, at least on a quick run Prisms weren't almost 95% of your whole production, the cheaper buildings actually contribute now.
You get cookies while the game is offline at a reduced rate, there are prestige updates to make the penalties smaller. Seasonal upgrades are tied to your current cps so it can be beneficial to sell all buildings to get them at a reduced price.
There are sound effects and every building has two "bake x gorillion cookies with this building type"
The Dragon upgrades cost buildings and are active one at a time, 100 AMCs gives you +25% chance for random drops, 100 Prisms gives a flat 2x cps boost and 200 of everything gives you an additional Dragon skill slot.
Like in the previous beta, all of the meaningless +X0% cps boosts are now 1-15% and stack multiplicatively.

Realm Grinder has silly power curves. After Reincarnating you have fuckall anything and just slogging through to get 20 Elven Faction Coins is a pain. Then you start to ramp up with the million different upgrades you accumulated beforehand until you get enough to unlock Titans which skyrockets your production, then you trudge through Druid runs to just barely get the first Dwarf upgrades which again skyrockets your production with Fairies. Then, again, you trudge trough with small gains until you get Mercenaries and you get Lightning Bolt hit the right place and suddenly you multiply your Gems by a factor of million.

Realm Grinder is surprisingly good, the UI is bad and the visuals pretty poor but the mechanics are great. There are different factions and build which focus on different things so you can set up an ultra-idle offline build if you want to. Not sure how effective they are in comparison to the more active ones, especially early on.
