the intro text is just a long png (https://i.imgur.com/bQkJsni.png) set as a background for the comments field. It's a terribly inelegant solution, but since I have no access to HTML, I can't think of a better idea.

my original idea was to use the board announcements to display the text, but the charlimit is too short. I might have to kill the side text if there's no solution to this.

Use a custom user CSS if you don't like it. Personally I don't care about ASCII art and would rather be able to actually read.
