Which RTS games are pretty underrated in your opinion?

For me it would half to be the warlord battlecry series and Darwinia

77f2cc No.432

Rise of Nations.

It's not underrated at all, but goddamn it has one of the best RTS soundtracks ever made.

This. I grew up with that game and my Father still plays it. The soundtrack is perfect and I would love to even put that into a TES game for modding it's music.

I personally prefer rise of rise of legends

>be China
>rush Forbidden City
>rush Terra Cotta Army
>free units FOREVER
>flood enemies with nothing but infantry and fire lances
That never gets old.

DEFCON is a lot of fun with friends. It's mosly free, too, since you can play multiplayer with the demo.

Rise of nations is the shit.

Oh fuck you. RED ARMY STRONK

Controversial opinion. I find Rise of Legends has more fun factor and is a quicker game but Rise of Nations almost smothers it in deep-fried depth sauce. All those civs and the long ass aging system make for a meticulously complex game.

I agree with this honestly, all three races were extremely well done, the lore was great and the clockman units are 10/10

I actually didn't like Rise of Nations, mainly because it was too complicated. The three soldiers per unit thing made larger battles unweildy and it wasn't very balanced. Chinese were crazy overpowered.

I was more of an Age of Mythology fan. Definitely the best singleplayer RTS campaign since red alert and starcraft. I can still hear the unit voices...

>Age of Mythology
That was a great one. Though I don't remember having any difficulty on any of the levels besides the Egyptian carriage one (even then it was because I cocked it up). The expansion was pretty decent as well.

>Egyptian carriage one

Apparently that's one of the easiest levels. I was so stuck on it though, couldn't stop getting the carriage killed.

Huh. Maybe I'm just a shit. All I remember was having practically all my guys killed, getting the carriage to my base thinking 'now that's all over', then the enemy popping out of nowhere and stealing it through the short cut.

Then again I can't remember what difficulty I played it on (probably normal) , so perhaps it's easier compared the 'normal' levels on harder difficulties.
