I kinda liked the fact that this was a text board. I know they don't have that much appeal but I think they're better for discussion in general (when you have a lot of users). Now it just feels like this is a pale imitation of /v/. Oh well, board owner do as you want. I'm sure I'm one of the few people who like text boards anyways.

not really a fan. I guess it can be okay to embed videos, but I liked the fact this was a textboard. Made it a bit difficult sometimes to discuss videogames, but it was alright and led to more thought out posts. your call ultimately, but this is a board I felt like advertising on /v/ as immune to shitposters, now not so much.

Your call at the end, just giving my two cents.

Image thumbails are hidden, so think of it like "file attachments" that need to be opened. I might remove it if it doesn't work out.

I can follow this justification. But like >>451, I'm not really digging it, because it seems to go against the central tenets of why you would bother to start a textboard in the first place.

The only people who would clamour for there being images are probably shitposters, and it wasn't like you had a huge influx of those, anyway.

So what made you change tune?

Not trying to start shit. Just curious about why you went in this direction.

I realized that most traditional forums allow you to attach files to your post anyways, and that most users here are linking to youtube anyways. People on textboards have always been linking to external sites for stuff like screencaps and relevant images to the discussion, so it doesn't really make sense for me to make people jump through the hoops to upload a screenshot on imgur when they can do it here. the reason why i disabled thumbnails in the first place was to discourage things like low effort memeposting and reaction images, as well as image dumping. the current limitations of one image per post, hidden by default seems to work well. i'll see how it pans out.

also i would like to say that this is definitely the furthest i would go. any more features would be taking the focus away from the user content (text). i think the text will always be the most important part of the board, because it's the only part thats mostly guranteed to be original content. images are just reposts 90% of the time, while text is always fresh (aside from copypasta, ofcourse.)
