Anyone actually follow "Esports" here? I've been watching Dota on and off for the last few years, but the constant team reshuffles make it hard to stay attached. Also, the lack of new faces is a bit discouraging. Other games haven't really caught my interest.

Also lets just get this out of the way:
I know it's a stupid name, but saying "esports is not a sport" is like saying "e-mail is not mail". You're right but it's a pedantic argument.

Then why not use a term like "competitive gaming"? What - all games can be competitive?

How about "professional gaming", then? Niggas be gettin paid to do it.

you can but it's a mouthful and doesn't adequately describe the system of sponsored teams competing in LANs for prize money streamed for the enjoyment of spectators.

How about "professional gaming", then.

That would probably make streamers and speedrunners professional gamers too, which is too different.
