Hey /vr/. Help me, I'm confused.

Feels like the VR movement is being flooded with all kids of companies trying to do their own shit. My question is, what's the best thing I could buy right now and get the best VR experience? I've never used any kind of VR headset before but it looks so fucking cool and I really want to try it.

Is the Occulus Dev Kit 2 worth getting? Or is there something different that works better? I'm not interested in smartphone shit. Mostly I want to check out the VR PC games (and the porn). I'm a game developer too so I'd like to fuck around with VR development.

It's like this, if you want the very best VR experience then you wait for CV1 which will almost definitely come out this year. But if you want something right now then I would still suggest going with DK2 as most demos, games and applications were made for it in mind.

try glyph if wanna only watch movies and do stuff that doesnt neeed rotation. Mainly because they currently have the best looking graphic.

if you just wanna taste what it feels like and cant wait for the CV1, well just use the cardboard with your phone.

they dont claim to have done a virtual reality thing. They claim that watching this equal to have the feeling to be in a small theater with the highest quality of screen.

They mainly go for casual people who listen music in the bus. This is an headphone and extend it to become a top tier HD movie player or game. Since its highly portable, I'd say they are doing the race of portable technology instead of VR technology.

So its not that much VR related. But yet, it would be cool if oculus would use their way of projecting an image.

Doesn't seem like it has much of a future then since VR headsets will get smaller, more portable and have better everything than the glyph.

probably, it probably gonna get bought by some big corporate(apple) and get sold only to yoloswag kids with rich parent. I have almost no doubt of that.
