What game genre, do you think, will become the most popular for VR-related equipment?

I think first person space shooters, racing games similar to Mario Kart, and sandbox games are going to be the biggest genres in vr. You might be able to enjoy the social aspect of MMOs in vr, but that's about it.

Puzzlers
Simulators (space, cars, etc)

Initially some success, but people will grow bored:
"Experiences" (hopefully)
Social shit
Viewing movies (until positional tracking works everywhere)

Hell no:
FPS

I'd say that shooter and racing game are going to be the most popular. Oh and minecraft to. its the only popular sanbox you'le see.

MMORPG will have a market,in the beginning its mostlikely going to suck. It's easier to simulate a shoother game or racing game, while the RPG needs you to move an arm to make a good simulation. My guess will be 2020 t'ill we get a good VR product for MMORPG to rise.

In my opinion, the most popular is mostlikely to be racing game followed by space shooters. Thirdly will be FPS. I believe that MMORPG, adventure games and stuff like that will only be popular when walking will be none-expensive.

most of video game company are all having teams for these kind of project. not sure which genra of game are the most popular though.

I can atleast be sure of one thing. The most popular thing on the first after the release of oculus, HTC vive and all other will be roller coasters.

What comes to mind on what games will work:

God games will make a comeback,

VRMMO's will eventually be made, but will be primitive in the beginning,

It will take a while, but RTS will also return with a lot of experimental UI's,

Themepark games will be made within two years of the headsets release,

Third person games will probably also work, it will be as if you are a spirit guiding the hero,

There will be a lot of experimentation with First Person games, hopefully stealth games similar to Thief will be made (Thief is perfect for VR).

This is just a few that came to mind, I'm sure there will be plenty of else that will work.

I think an MMO social network will be the most popular usage of VR related equipment because of the success of mobile VR sad I know

for PC vr however,

its probably going to be sandbox games or mmorpgs

I do not think shooters will do well in VR at first because of the motion sickness it can induce since you have to move pretty quick, unless you're inside a vehicle that is

Two things would make me buy the thing.

-A well crafted Waifu simulator; doesn't necessarily have to involve sex; Playing chess against a girl in skimpy outfit would already be awesome. The moment you get facial expression done right that's 50% of the job done.

It has to be mod ready, would come with some kind of "creation kit" and script creator. We would exchange behavior scripts to retain the element of surprise (there's no point playing your own).

-A well crafted open world with rpg elements game.

There's no doubts about it; We will get breathtaking fantasy open worlds to explore.

I am 42 and expect to get something worthwhile in 2 to 6 years; I'll wait.

I don't expect those two genre to become "popular", don't care.
