Deconditioning Materialist Assumptions

1. Head or brain when you really mean mind

Much is attributed to the head and brain that is really meant to be attributed to mind. The assumption herein which is harmful is that mind is contained only to your head. In reality it is distributed over your entire nervous system and you ought to think of your nerves... yet even that isn't quite accurate either as really you should envision in your mind the nerve-force distributed over the whole body which radiates out most strongly where concentrated of nerves are very high. When you picture this force radiating out from all the nerves, you get a much better idea as to the shape of your mind. If you will take it a step further and let the emotional qualities colour it, you now see the human aura, and can read it objectively. Ultimately mind extends out in all directions infinitely, though like a ripple in a pond it soon loses a lot of force, unless momentarily concentrated to a specific point or along a line. The whole universe is composed of mental substance and mind is capable of registering the vibrations of other minds. Mind has many analogies with a radio; magick is also called radiomentalism.

2. Subjective vs Objective

Understanding these two terms will clarify much of what is possible in magick. There is absolutely nothing which is truly subjective and at the same time there is nothing objective that can't be represented subjectively. Everything is transjective. There is nothing which stands apart from the rest of the universe, everything is infinitely interconnected and experiencable. No phenomena exists in total isolation. Every thought, memory, dream, and experience of life you've ever had is open to whatever spirit (awareness) is capable of penetrating it. Everything can be shared. Every vibration can be registered and transformed. What we call "objective" is merely that which we can verify another person besides our own self can also verify through shared experience. Mastery over the element of water will allow you to experience objectively mental phenomena as it is experienced by others (more on this later).

3. The self, ego, or spirit

Spirit is a divine fragment of all, it is awareness + will, and it is eternal and in a state of infinite vibration. It is what we truly are when we strip away everything else. The body and mind are inferior/subject to spirit. The Arcane Formulas by William Walker Atkinson helps you recognize and realize through meditation this essential, irreducible self. It is also the aim of Raja Yoga to recognize this self (Atkinson has a very long book on the subject). Identification with and recognition of spirit allows one to assert greater control over ones vessels.

4. Mind & Matter (Mental or Material)

All matter is merely thought highly condensed/crystalized. All thought is a form of very fine substance and not truly immaterial as is spirit. All of it is sustained by the All. There is nothing which can not be transmuted, all is vibration.

I don't feel like getting into this much more here but my pain point is you can treat all "matter" as mental substance and governed by mental laws and you can regard all thoughts as being actually substantial, taking up space, physically interacting with other things just like radio waves physically interact with the world.
