What dating sims are there that could be played with someone else at the same time? Messaging each other back and forth to compare notes over a third party service, like steam or skype, would be fine.

Besides "any" (because you could just talk about games with a dude.) I guess the best to do this would be raising simulators or games with some sort of stat progression.

A friend and I are going to play Katawa Shoujo at the same time, you could try something like that. Alternatively, another friend and I played through Nekopara at almost the same time. But I feel like you could do this with any VN.
