My opinion on Tsukihime is that it was a piece of shit, but it was MY piece of shit. Tsukihime, Azumanga Daioh and Rozen Maiden is what started my descent into becoming a pathetic weeaboo about ten years ago.

What's your guys' favorite Fate/Stay Night route? I'm going to have to say Heaven's Feel as cliche as I might seem. Also, opinion on the UBW anime?

>>66I have a hard time deciding on a favorite. I'd probably go for HF too only because it so perfectly completes the story and the setting and I wouldn't want the game without it, whereas the other two I could imagine going without (assuming introduction could be handled otherwise). But the one I enjoyed the most must be UBW. Dat sweet, sweet Tohsaka + Saber harmony. Also Lancer. Why is he so based? And Archer of course. And Shirou bad-assery. God, UBW was awesome wasn't it? Only thing lacking is Kotomine.
From my vague, vague memories*:
>story -> Fate>characters -> UBW>setting -> HFyears since last play through, can't remember specifics too well*
No.141
>>140Yeah UBW was definitely a more blood pumping action-filled route whereas HF felt more like the HAPPENING route that tied up loose ends.

Damn it, I'm gonna start rereading F/SN right now. How many hours to complete? I'm doing a marathon this time.

>>150Honestly it's going to take you some time, atleast to get all of the cool endings, a few days if you spend every waking moment playing through.

Spoilers ahead!
Fate route:
>HOPE YOU LIKE LONG TERM PLANETARY EMPLOYMENT BUT HEY, AT LEAST YOU GET TO FUCK KING ARTHUR, WHO IS ADORABLE WHEN NOT ACTUALLY BEING A KNIGHT
>UBW:
>THIS IS THE ONE ALL MONDERN CANONS WILL FOLLOW UP UPON
OH, AND HEAVENS FEEL HAPPENS HERE ANYWAY, BUT IT'S MUCH SHORTER AND ANTI-CLIMACTIC LIKE THAT OF AN ANIME ORIGINAL MOVIE THAT FEELS MORE LIKE A RECAP/MONTAGE THAT'S MORE LIKE A PROMO THAN A FILM BECAUSE ZOUKEN GETS FISTED BY EL-MELLOW AND THEN SHIROU FUCKS THE SHIT OUT OF LUVIA IN THE MISSIONARY POSITION HOLDING HANDS GOING SO SOFTCORE YOU FEEL BAD THAT YOU HAVE YOUR DICK OUT, AS HE GAMBLES LIKE A PRO AGAINST DEAD APOSTLES ON A FUCKING BOAT LIKE THE BADASS JAPANESE JAMES BOND HE IS.
>HEAVENS FEEL
FUCK YOU SAKURA, MY HOPES, DREAMS, BODY AND ARM, BUT HEY, MOTHERFUCKING RIDER, SO IT'S NOT TOO BAD.

>>165Seriously though, Shirou is underappreciated. Many get caught up on his shortcomings and fail to see the more beautiful aspects of his nature. I like him.

Just finished Heaven's Feel, my favourite was UBW though. I saw three chapters of anime fate/zero and it was interesting, wonder if I'll keep through. Is fate/hollow ataraxia a good read? also how related is tsukihime to fate? is it also a good read?
Thanks in advance

Mahoutsukai no Yoru translation when? ;_;
>>290I like Tsukihime a lot, but it's very different from Fate, especially the far side routes. They are what make the vn worth reading.
As a whole, Tsukihime is more horror focused while Fate is more action focused. Also, Tsukihime obviously has lower production values than Fate. It's not like the graphics are Higurashi or Umineko tier so it's not a huge issue. Just don't expect it to be as pretty looking or the music as memorable as Fate Stay Night's.
Recommended route order is Arcuied, Ciel, Akiha, Hisui, and Kohaku. The latter three especially pretty much need to be read in that order, doesn't really matter for the first 2 routes.

>>290Hollow Ataraxia is great. Half fan service of all kinds, half story centered around new characters. Also some entertaining extra content. Well worth it if you're a Fate fan.

I've only played through Fate before having to format my computer a while back.
I am thinking of picking F/SN back up after I finish my current backlog.
From what I hear, Shirou manages to be useful for more than being hard to kill in the other routes.
I could probably find a save would bring me back up to about where I was, yeah?
No.523
>>521UBW and HF are certainly more interesting. There's still plenty of filler though. If you can't find a save you can always CTRL through it.

slightly off topic, people, but did anyone watch the UBW anime? not the movie, the anime. did you like it? thinking about going through the trouble of downloading it

>>524I'm waiting for the second season to finish airing in spring before I marathon it.
However, the few episodes I watched did seem to have a lot of budget put into them; I don't think it'll be as bad as the DEEN adaptation.
I'm a bit worried about them shoving Heaven's Feel into one long movie, but ah well, at least it'll look pretty.

It only just occurred to me now how large his hands are compared to his face in this picture.
Kotomine is still the best thing about HF and single-handedly saved that route for me.
