Any of you using Linux + Wine?

I'm using Minimalist Linux to boost the performance of this shitty laptop because XP wont install.

What are some good translated VN's with a Linux version or ones that will work good on wine? The only one I've tried with wine so far is Higurashi, which works fine with a font fix.

I have had considerable success with Linux + Wine; most VNs work really well, but those that require Japanese locale are a pain. It took me way too long to get Yosuga no Sora working on Linux.

As long as you know how to use wine, you can run almost everything in bottles.
Linux I'm not so sure of.

Before anyone believes this, this comment is very far from the truth. Many applications and games will not run on wine, and many that do have glitches. Many VN's seem to fair semi-well though.

I tried once but I had to fuck around more than I could be bothered so I just gave up, maybe later.

I know OP has probably gone by now, but I'm having pretty good progress with running VNs on gentoo with wine - if anything is picky, you can just use kvm for a quick xp set up to run it on anyway.
I'm actually in a similar position to OP too, I've a shitty laptop that benefits a fuck ton from an optimised os.
I'd put up a list of all the stuff I've managed to get working, but winehq already does that, really - just torrent everything and try them if you've a decent connection.

Use Slackware instead of arch

Pretty much everything localised by Mangagamer works well through Wine. Playonlinux also supports the entire Sono Hanabira series if you use that.

The Devil on G String worked for me with Japanese locale and wine

Arch user here.

I use just virtualbox and XP, because wine is a pain in the ass and doesn't play all VN's.
