I can understand why you'd make all that effort. I mean for me, for many years 4chan was my favourite website. I think I discovered the site when I was 14 or something back in 2006, and it was basically just a cornucopia of all this stuff I'd never seen before. Even despite what the site has become now, I still hold those early years of 4chan fondly in my heart. You can try and try to change the website for the better, but if the people behind the wheel are against it, nothing will change. They'll never listen. Never mind that there will ALWAYS be a cunny thread on /tv/, or if there isn't someone will be making one within minutes. To them, it's always unacceptable. Really, the janitors and mods these days are apparently quite a bitter group of folk if insider reports are to be believed. They probably just need some cunny in their lives.

kaji is a likeable guy, but somehow I can't respect a triple agent like that. Gendo would fuck someone's mother, then wait for their daughter to grow up and dump the mother for her. Gendo had some real ambitions, Kaji just liked his melons. Also I never found Katsuragi all that attractive.. tbh all the eva girls don't do much for me.

the thing about Eva is that Anno tried to take the shonen genre and actually make it realistic. Shinji is a little bitch, but the point of the show is that practically anyone would turn into a little bitch in Shinji's position. The fact that every single Eva pilot mentally breaks down and slowly becomes more and more suicidal is all part of the series genius. Shows like Gundam are fun because of the way they show people enthusiastically fighting one another for their own causes, but the real deep questions of a young boy in a giant robot killing monsters is actually very terrifying. And the only real character who holds any cards in this scenario (Gendo), is essentially just a man who's soul has been eroded.
I'd also recommend Revolutionary Girl Utena if you haven't seen it already. While Hideaki Anno was creating a post-modern deconstruction of the shonen mecha genre, Kunihiko Ikuhara was creating a post-modern deconstruction of the mahou shojou genre.

I understand that they're very real reactions to the situation and can respect it, but for him to not find his footing at all in any aspect of his like in New Tokyo 3 irked me. Perhaps I'm too fond of a protagonist who finds some surety in his life, some form of purpose no matter how twisted. Also the ending of the TV series, man, I raged so hard until I found out why it was like that, lol… I've yet to watch anything beyond the original series.
