I haven't seen the Force Awakens yet but I was interested to see what they would do with the New Order and that side of the cast more than the protagonist's side.
I don't want to see it in theaters but I don't want to watch a cam, so I'm waiting. I grew up as a big Star Wars fan seeing the original trilogy in theaters in the 90s with my uncle who saw the original trilogy in theaters in the 70s. I really, really liked it. The argument could be made it used a few too many "look, this is nostalgic, you remember this right??" references but truth is those didn't bother me because everything else was great.
Top notch cinematography too, JJ can't write for shit but he can make pretty things show up on screen.

TFA already used a lot of Episode V but I wouldn't be surprised if the next used more.
I think the folks saying that this movie was only borrowing so much from the originals so it could go do its own thing next have forgotten Abrams' Star Treks, which were essentially just a scrapbook of classic Star Trek stuff. He's still the creative producer on the next movie, as is Lawrence Kasdan who was in on penning this one, as well as Return of the Jedi which borrowed things from New Hope. The next movie at least is sure to take just as much from Empire and probably Jedi as this one did New Hope. Someone's gonna get a hand cut off, Luke will be Yoda to Rey, Kylo will turn back to the Light side like Vader did…
Hopefully Lando and bald robotic head guy will show up.

I dunno he can't really effectively be Vaderesque since he's not a threat to the protagonist. I'd imagine he's only going to spend more time with his mask off getting teary eyed about choosing Light or Dark before finally choosing Light since there's no where left for his character to go as a villain anymore and so he'll have to turn hero some time early in the movie if they don't want to waste a bunch of development time. If they've got come writing competence he'll probably start working to destroy the First Order from within at the beginning of the second act or something while pretending to still be a bad guy, and Benicio Del Toro will replace him/be the secondary villain since Kylo isn't one anymore and possibly cut his arm off.

Okay, I get it. You all have your circles of friends (which in my mind is symbolized by the kind of Circles Google Plus uses) that I'll never be a part of no matter how much someone says he thinks I'm in an overall circle or some shit like that:
- I'll never receive the same attention or empathy which you always tend to immediately give to others, sometimes, for even the most stupid (which I don't mind) of reasons.
