You probably have a case in tort law tbh. If it's anything like Australia (which it is, I just don't know specifics) you'd need to prove damage (obvious) and that the laundromat was negligent, which you do by showing that they should reasonably have foreseen the possibility of the cord tension causing injury. I don't know how foreseeable it is, you'd have to make that judgement yourself, but you don't have to prove it beyond reasonable doubt, only on the balance of probabilities (ie, more likely than not).
Damages would probably just cover the cost of repairing your broken nose and a little bit extra for compensation. They'd pay your legal fees if you won, but if you were unable to show that they should have been reasonably able to foresee the risks of tying the cord so tight then you'd have to pay their legal costs.
I only bring it up because it's my understanding that everyone sues everyone in New York.

They both have their weak and strong points. For recording and listening, open backs are the way to go. For mixing, closed backs are most optimal. You can always get semi-opens. They dabble in both worlds, but I mean you going to get the entire experience of having a solely open back or a solely closed back.

I don't know too much about that model so I wouldn't be able to tell you. but from I do know, by going with 4pin over a 3.5mm or a 1/4 inch, you would be decreasing the electrical interference and of course, the elephant in the room, phantom power.
