Im gonna start with this new game that just came out for PC, and I think it's coming out for PS4 aswell.

"The vanishing of Ethan Carter"

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is a first-person story-driven mystery game focused on exploration and discovery. As occult-minded private detective Paul Prospero communicate with the dead to discover the fate of a missing boy and the mystery behind a dark ancient force lurking in Red Creek Valley.

This is not a horror game AFAIK, it's about mistery and discovery with great graphics and a nice pace to the story you have to unveil.

You can interact with different objects and follow clues, both from the real and the "dead" world, to reveal the story behind this "crime" or whatever it's that happened.

It has a play time of around 4hs and it's $20 USD on Steam.

I'd like to play it with a friend or two, as I did with Heavy Rain (similar type of game), but since that's not possible right now, Im watching a nice YT gameplay.

Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments

I just finished playing this game, and I must say I really liked it.
Specially being that Im not a single-player type of gamer at all, and that it has been a long time since I played a single player campaign based game. Tho I do like these type of mistery video games.

The game consists of 6 missions (or cases) that you have to solve by finding clues and making connections between them, you can come to different conclusions as to who is the criminal.
To find these clues, or to simply advance on each case, you have a lot of things to do at your disposal, talking to suspects, finding clues aroudn the crime scene, reading archives, "reading" people, etc etc.

The game is not perfect tho, it has its small flaws here and there (some of them being that at times it's a little bit easier than what I'd have liked) but apart from those small things, and as I said, I enjoyed it quite a lot.
It also runs on the Unreal Engine 3, which gives it a nice graphics and a stable performance.

I'd recommend it to anyone who's into these type of games or stories, and as Im new to playing these genre, I'll go ahead and play the previous Sherlock Holmes game (for PC), The Testament of Sherlock Holmes

I just want to say ArmA 3 is really enjoyable now. I bought it back when it was in alpha and it was a mess back then, especially the multiplayer which is what really matters. I recently reinstalled it and after lots of updates it now runs, looks and plays much better. Highly recommended mainly because it proves not every game with guns in it has to be Call of Duty.

Bioshock, Last of Us because of the storytelling and crafting

I don't play a lot of survival horror but it could be similar to Resident Evil too. You can't just clear a level, the alien is always hunting you or you're avoiding humans, androids, scavenging whatever you can, reading logs and listening to bits of audio diaries to tell you what happened on the station

It runs like butter too despite how good it looks, sometimes I wish I could take out all the enemies in a level just so I can take screenshots or examine the small details

It feels like a game someone would make if they were hardcore fans and had the money/expertise to finish it
