To be fair, Japan has better and more accurate looking cosplayers, and many white men prefer Japanese girls.

I don't think anime is based on white people as much as it's a broad idealization of both Japanese and white qualities.

Anime characters looked like bizarre aliens the first time I saw it. Over time, they gradually looked like people. I'm 100% sure this is the cause of the argument

If the axis won, anime would still look similar to how anime did before the war. And it would gradually develop from there in realistic style for the purpose of portraying ideas (mecha, etc.) rather than being mindless entertainment. You would have side-character girls with an emphasis on realism and sexyness instead of girls with an overabundance of superstimuli.

When you can't get any of your native girls, and you see how slutty/horrible they are, you tend to look for other things.

Also, there's the whole "azns are cute" thing. Well, at least with the makeup on they are.

Goku from saiyuuki is based on the Asian macaque (other characters are different animals), which has pink hair, grey-blond hair, and brown eyes (thankfully not blue, otherwise god would be too much of a ruseman). Goku in Dragonball has black eyes and hair until he becomes ayran (also when the series goes downhill, funnily enough). So it's not definite to say that he's Chinese, racially. He's supposed to be his own race based on macaques, but instead he goes from asian-leaning to caucasian-leaning.

Don't forget that anime characters have been becoming whiter and whiter. It's now to the point that when I walk into a shop to look at vidya I have to have moeshit mangas go into my eyes and by god they are ALL blond and blue eyed characters. Man, how insecure are the people who buy these, really? I walk into a vidya/book store to forget about politics, not be reminded of them. Maybe I should just stick to 90's and western PC games

This is one of the things I think the "Anime is all white" is kind of overblown, but much too often there is unnaturally high nasal bridges, protruded foreheads, and others that are much too caucasoidian.

I don't know about FF but I know god hand does this. The characters are supposed to be white but they clearly have asian influence, especially Olivia. Japanese butchering the attempt to draw whites tickles me in the wrong way too.

If the character names sound a bit Japanese and have Japanese cultural influences in the armor, looking Caucasian is obviously a bit of a subliminal message, if you know what I mean. Maybe I'm being a bit sensitive, but I deeply dislike racial self-hatred.

What I don't like in general is that Japanese art has just kind of, not been as good as it was a long time ago.

The entire thing about Dragon Ball was that it mashed together Japanese, Chinese and European cultures, which was the entire appeal. In Dragon Ball, Goku was monkey-like and had Chinese cultural influence for half the series. It wasn't until the timeskip (Goku trains with Popo for 3 years) that he suddenly became tall, which went along with the fact that Goku was weird/unique.

You just have to put aside the blond hair powerup shit - real life white males don't have hair THAT blond, or turquoise eyes for that matter. And everyone ends up looking like Yamcha.

I disagree. Anime characters are becoming more and more simplified and alien-looking.

Anime males are practically girls with shorter hair. Anime girls have no facial shading, the nose is completely flat/disappeared, hair is always flat, anatomy is extremely skinny/small, they have overly cute facial features. They look more asian than ever.

I think some 80's anime OVA had more white looking anime girls; Body with meat, hot facial features, hair with volume, abrasive personality, visible nose, tits and ass.

Look at actual white women sometime. They almost never have the "cute" facial features that asians and anime characters do. (I say cute for lack of a better word)

This is a legitimate thing and I laugh all the time because of how alien they look. They don't even look white to me, it looks like a bizarre mashup of superstimulii, or cosplaying asians/gyaru. Seriously, Google gyaru. That's what they look like.

I think God Hand is definitely an exception, because it's a bizarre mix of Japanese and American humor without any regard for consistency. It came out around the time Kill Bill was still popular.
