They better increase the number of players to at least 40vs40 or this games will sink fast.

>founders pack getting removed

>game moving into early access

>has 2 maps and 2 factions

So the founders pack was advanced cancer as expected and now we are back to normal cancer while they do ugly, shitty mocap of eldar and some even claim the early access will cost 60$.

This is fucking retarded.

 No.925

The question is would it be worth it more to buy the founders pack or wait until the early access goes on sale during the summer or christmas sale.

That's why we love Ciaphas

 No.498

Ciaphas Cain is the only human Commissar I know of that died of old age.

I'd say that makes him the official winner of 40K.

 No.919

>>88

It's a meta joke.

In the books, Cain is hailed as a hero and Imperial propaganda always portrays him in amazing exaggerated displays.

Therefore them replacing his las pistol with something more manly like a boltgun and standing atop his fallen enemies.

When in truth he's anything but that and complains about it constantly.

N00b here. Why are there only Chaos Space Marines, not Chaos Eldar, Chaos Orks, Chaos Tyrannids etc?

Also I have made a Chaos chapter in Dawn of War called 'Warp Wolves' who are basically Chaos Space Wolves. Kinda cool imo.

 No.893

There are some chaos eldar, they're just very rare.

 No.894

Because none of the other races were enough of a threat to Chaos that the Ruinous Powers felt a need to subvert them. Eldar fucked themselves literally all on their lonesome, Orks aren't organized or intelligent enough to be a threat, and Nids are newcomers to the Galaxy. The Emperor, and by extension Humanity, was the only one that actively opposed Chaos, and would likely have succeeded in killing or severely weakening them if the Heresy hadn't fractured the Imperium.

 No.903

The orks do not follow Chaos, for Chaos cannot offer what the Orks want that Gork & Mork already couldn't. All they need is a good fight. Chaos could offer them a good fight, but they already do that themselves anyway, so why bother?

Furthermore, anything Chaos related isn't considered 'Orky'. In fact, it's seen as weak within society. As such, no Chaos Orks exist. Though i wouldn't be surprised if some had a good liking to Khorne.

Furthermore, they are easily manipulated. Whereas a human's mind slowly succumbs to the temptation of Chaos before being able to easily control, a single Ork warchief simply needs to be 'set up' to do as the Chaos deity wills. The first Dawn of War and the WH40k Space Marine games have a storyline like that (Ork invasion set up by Chaos) and i believe that the Armageddon wars were used to 'weaken' the strength of Man to make for easier capture by the Chaos forces.

Chaos Eldar = Dark Eldar.

Tyranids aren't prone to the manipulation of Chaos, as the Tyranid swarm is a hive-mind collective of no to barely any free-will. If the Tyranid Hive Mind that controls it succumbs to Chaos, we'll see. But i dont think even the Gods know where the Tyranid Hive Mind is located.

The Tau have, thus far, no connection to Chaos. Not only is the mention of Chaos barely known to such a young species that's on the other end of the galaxy, they do not use the warp for space travel. They do not possess psychic abilities, so there's no 'patient zero/dark messiah/etc. etc.' the Chaos Gods can call upon, so they cannot establish anything of a foothold.

The Tau do have 'Ethereals', which are sort-of-leaders of the Tau. They have something of 'magic' upon them, as they apparently have a soothing, calming, convincing and inspiring aura upon them (and are, as such, great leaders), but no connection the warp whatsoever.

The Necrons have their own 'dark deity', the C'tan and are stripped of the weakness of flesh 'in spirit and body' and are, as such, incorruptible.

 No.905

>>840

some orks are lured into khorne embrace for fighting, but changes from some weird love of fighting to some weird khorne love version of fighting.

Nurgle can also corrupt orks. normal orks are hard to kill. plague orks are… a different level.

Tzeentch and slaanesh just don't appeal to orks, but I'm sure one could come up with a rather interesting reason why there is a tzeentch ork or slaanesh ork.

 No.915

>>840

>Why are there only Chaos Space Marines, not Chaos Eldar, Chaos Orks, Chaos Tyrannids etc?

Eldar have hard time worshiping chaos since they too tasty for the gods to resist and Slannesh has dibs.

Dark Eldar basically worship themselves.

Orks have their own gods, tho there are instances of Khorne Orks.

Most other factions have their own deities to worship too, unless they're mostly animals(Nids).

Hence, all other events will proceed in context of the Imperium being shrunk down to Segmentum Solar and Terra suffering massive daemonic rapeage.

So how come off all the Space Hulk editions and iterations, we never see the Deathwing participate in boarding Space Hulks? Seems like it'd be part of their schtick…

 No.166

>>165
I'm going to assume by your picture that you meant the Deathwatch.

They primarily fight and study xenos. Space Hulks may be rife with these, but it's the same type of threat 8 times out of ten (genestealers or Chaos) and they don't hunt relics or lost technology as much as proper chapters do, which is one of the main reasons to board a Space Hulk.

Deathwatch is all about finding new ways to combat xenos threats, and the most efficient way to fight xenos in a Space Hulk is already known (Terminators.)

Now imagine this doesn't end, imagine this Barbie is following you forever ruining your cool action figure get-togethers with its effeminate aura. That's what the Eldar are like. How anyone can think the Eldar belong in W40k is fucking beyond me.

 No.849

The ones that really stand out for me are the Imperial Guard, they're basically using 20th century technology, it would be like a modern army using stone tipped spears or something. Although they look cool as a contemporary army they don't really fit the far future imo.

What would you do to make Warhammer 40k better?

 No.805

The current formula is :

Only allow the following factions in the first game:

SM CSM Orkz Eldar (sometimes IG)

Get other races to star the game.

Add as much customization of gear as possible.

Delve into the RPG part of the lore more. More details to the worlds.

I would focus more on lore-building. More books, more codexes, maybe start a long story arc to get people invested in a story.

I would also look into designing somewhat simpler models specifically for 3d printers and distribute them freely for the PR while focusing (model-wise) on the larger hero-pieces that people would likely want to purchase anyway.

So I recently came across this, which is a standalone game as you only need Source Multiplayer 2013 to play it.

It is essentially Space Marines Vs Tyrannids, with both of you trying to advance and capture objectives while defending your own.

Several playable classes, including Terminators, Lictors, Carnifexs.

Plays rather well, probably the best source engine fps game I've seen actually.

/v/ has threads about it every now and then.

I have a suggestion. Why don't we have a gaming night for this mod - maybe every 15 days, or once a month for now - and we get together to play it? Servers are sort of dead. We could, if we plan on doing this, cross post it on /v/ when the server is up on that day.

Not only we would have some heretical fun, but we could also drive more users towards this place.

What do you guys say?

Hey all, I'm just starting to get into 40K, and decided on what type of army I want to run. I'm aiming to go for a primarily Krieg army, with a balance of infantry and artillery.

I'm just wondering if anyone has some suggestions, or any advice regarding the Krieg, or if they're even relevant in the seventh edition.

 No.850[Reply]

Did anyone ever have some ideas for new armies? I had loads but I'm too lazy and not talented enough to sketch them out, plus they never accept designs from fans anyway I don't think.

Anyway the main idea I have right now is a small human faction that rebels against the Imperium. The basic feel for them is like The Resistance in Terminator in the future, basically ragtag as fuck. They use some Imperial guard eqpt, some SM eqpt, and they're also allied to either the Tau or Eldar, which is why they survive at all. The fluff can have them being wiped out after just a few millenia.

There's also an asian theme, units would be like the Vietcong, Taliban/ ISIS type units with suicide bombers (call them Kamikazes), Japanese WW2 units, Samurai, Ninjas, and Shaolin type monks.

 No.857

This idea is so fucking generic all you need to do is play the renegade list fromFW.
