So long as this thread's up, there's a greentext I've been looking for that's about Celestia as the Emperor's mount, told from her perspective.
The story is basically that way back when everyone was riding horses, the Emperor picked a horse, and gave one just a small fraction of his essence. Enough for it to gain sapience and immortality, at least. Once riding a horse around became more of a liability, the Emperor sent Celestia away to her own little world as a sort of retirement. It ends with Celestia reminiscing about this and wishing to go on one last adventure with him.
