I wonder what this board feels about that one particularly popular homebrew chapter, the Alfa Legion
I ask because I am a friend of it's creator, Alfabusa and having left the legion as a member, due to it being filled with petty and melodramatic individuals who were making my involvement in it unpleasant, I have since become quite curious to know how the wider web feels about them

I love you guys, keep doing what you do best.
And tell the rest of the team to get back on the ball, it's fucking appauling they haven't made a video in forever compared to Emps with a text to speech device.
Asides from that, when are you going to get a guy who does SFM on your team? There's like endless untapped potential right there.

>>6Chances are there are any number of people who can SFM competently, but don't feel like making legion content
busa wont tell even his friends a whole lot about what's going on in his life but it seems like it takes all of his effort and time to make txt2speech videos
I suspect there is an overarching story with a planned end to it, meaning that this is the one series that will take up all time and effort, until it finishes
I'm not a member of the legion myself anymore but I've been toying with learning SFM and/or making some other legion content

Love the videos, though I'll be honest the steam group (like 6 months ago last time i was there) can be a shitty place. a little too much autism for me.

What the hell do they mean you have to become a vetern to use things like noise/plague weapons? Do they hate fun or something?
No.120
>>119It's an RP thing, generally. It's more that you have to talk to a vet before your character can use particular special weaponry.

>>6I believe Nexus knows a little about SFM, but…well, he's Nexus. Nexus hates fun.
In any case, we've got a decent amount of material coming out soon, with at least one new series, a reboot of an old favorite, an overhaul of our lore and various wiki pages, and more Text to Speech. A lot of our members have just been busy with life and school, so work's been a little slow going.

Their videos are funny, watch them by all means if you're a fan of 40k/DoW, but the community is fucking cancer. I hung out in the steam group, it's a clusterfuck. Don't get me wrong, sometimes, if the stars align, you can have a genuinely good time. Most of the time, however, people get kicked from the chat like it's halfchan on steroids, and everyone else either knows barely any fucking 40k/DoW lore to excuse being in the group in the first place, or it's people bitching about the RP on their forums. It may have cleared up since a few years ago, I dunno, but that's my experience with them.

>>133The forum is literally overrun with shitposting. Everyone either posts in the "minor updates and random crap thread" (Hence the shitposting), or they play retarded games that make kindgergardeners look at them in disgust. RP is still slow, and they continue to bitch about it, but not as much as they used to. The steam group chat is either dead or full blown autism to even bother. But just like anon said, you would have to sacrifice a virgin orphan in order to have a good time.

>>5Half of the videos aren't honestly all that funny. The "podcasts" are probably the worst offenders. There are gems like most of Karl the Deranged's stuff, and Text-to-Speech is a given, but you can tell some are just forced and absolutely droll. As for the communities, others describe it as cancer, where I would describe it as malignant.

>>5What I like about the Alfa Legion is that Alfabusa is friendly towards anyone, with the exception of Nexus. The Alfa Legion has its ups and downs. It used to be about 40k jokes, but for better or worse it is now more about Legion in-jokes. The Fresh Sorcerer has some potential to breathe life into the legion by inventing a rivalry between him and Alfabusa.
The legion does kind of get entertaining whenever they run events like Dawn of War, Space Marine, Exterminatus and TF2. I'm really looking forward to what will happen when Eternal Crusade comes out since the Legion has an established presence there.

Genuinely sorry that you got pushed out of something you helped make my friend.

Yeah, I have to agree with the above about the community being fucking cancer, I mean I was there when the Steam group first started (a few weeks give or take) and literally shocked by the amount of people who'd get into arguments about the lore or the setting with the discussion whether it was to do with an RP or the Dawn Of War games themselves, I wouldn't mind but the majority of these people didn't even know the basics of wh40k lore, I mean there were multiple times in the chat people would freak the fuck out if you were to tell them Dark Eldar weren't actually followers of chaos or that the custodes weren't the original Astarte legions and stuff like that.
Even the discussion value was poor, there'd literally countless 'lolz so randumb we should have our own thread on t/g, they like us rite?' or constantly blaming Matt Ward for things like model designs and business decisions like pricing and advertising.
