 No.80937

>>80928

Major stars get paid too highly to leave. Dbry is leaving for sure once his contract is up, but that's only because of wwe's medical team being idjits. Other than that no top guys are leaving for awhile. Side problem is that there are no top guys anymore because wwe gets the company over not the wrestlers, so they can lose anyone and not lose viewers.

 No.80938

>>80937

>they can lose anyone and not lose viewers.

They're already losing viewers from that philosophy of getting the company over rather than the wrestlers. Cart before the horse.

Nevillie vs Kota Ibushi in NJPW please

 No.80939

>>80938

Oh I agree, but I'm saying it's too late for them to recover with this current batch of wrestlers. Let me put it this way, would you honestly care less about the show if roman got injured for a year next week? Remember this is their supposed top guy, but does anyone really give a shit about him? They have the ratings and attendance they do now based on the wwe name alone, so ideally it will plateau out for them. Now we see how long that name's staying power actually is.

I don't know if I want PAC vs Ibushi or PAC vs kushida more

Let's dissect Neville's main roster PPV/Network Special career:

>Extreme Rules 2015 (((Kickoff))): Neville defeats Bad News Barrett

>King Of The Ring 2015: Bad News Barrett defeats Neville in the Finals

>Payback 2015: Neville defeats King Barrett by Count Out

>Elimination Chamber 2015: Neville defeats Bo Dallas

>Money In The Bank 2015: Participates in MitB Ladder Match that Sheamus won

>The Beast in the East: Chris Jericho defeats Neville

Hadn't the WWE pretty much given up on Barrett by early 2015? Yet they really didn't put Neville over him decisively in Neville's debut program. Bad sign right out the gate. His match at Elimination Chamber was a nothing match stuck between Owens/Cena I and an Elimination Chamber match. Looking back, based on his booking up to this point the fact that they even put him in the Money in the Bank match is kinda surprising. But did anyone really think he was going to win that thing? Beast in the East is really just a glorified house show, but it helps cement him as just another 50/50 guy. Clearly, being the longest reigning NXT Champion up this point didn't mean shit.

>Summerslam 2015: Neville w/Stephen Amell defeats King Barrett & Stardust

>Night Of Champions 2015 (((Kickoff))): Stardust & The Ascension defeat Neville & The Lucha Dragons

>Live from Madison Square Garden: Neville defeats Stardust

>Hell In A Cell 2015 (((Kickoff))): Cesaro, Dolph Ziggler & Neville defeat King Barrett, Rusev & Sheamus

>Survivor Series 2015 (((Kickoff))): Goldust, Neville, The Dudley Boyz & Titus O'Neil defeat Bo Dallas, The Cosmic Wasteland & The Miz

He's clearly getting lost in the shuffle at this point. Frustration had to be setting in. Lots of work with Cody Rhodes here, interesting coincidence looking back now.

>Royal Rumble 2016: 0 eliminations, eliminated by Luke Harper after ~10 minutes

Fractures ankle 7 weeks later, right before Wrestlemania (and the one year anniversary of his debut). Supposedly was going to be in the ladder match that Ryder ended up winning. Who knows what might've happened if he doesn't get hurt. He's out 4 months.

>SummerSlam 2016 (((Kickoff))): Neville & Sami Zayn defeat The Dudley Boyz

Returns after the July draft (selected at #26, immediately after Nia Jax at #25). Continues trading wins and losses with guys like Axel, Bo, and the Dudleys for a couple months. Disappears again, until Roadblock in December when he attacks Rich Swann and TJ Perkins after their 3-way Cruiserweight title match with Brian Kendrick.

>Royal Rumble 2017: defeats Rich Swann for CW Title

>Fastlane 2017: defeats Jack Gallagher

>WrestleMania 33 (((Kickoff))): defeats Austin Aries

>Payback 2017: loses to Austin Aries by DQ

>Extreme Rules 2017: defeats Austin Aries

>Great Balls Of Fire 2017 (((Kickoff))): defeats Akira Tozawa

>SummerSlam 2017 (((Kickoff))): defeats Akira Tozawa

>No Mercy 2017: loses CW Title to Enzo Amore

Other than the Enzo match these were usually pretty good, especially compared to his work from 2015 & 2016. But they're good matches featuring 205 Live guys that most of the PPV crowds knew absolutely nothing about.

All-in-all I think the key is that when 5'8" Neville was put in matches with guys closer to his height the WWE had no problem booking him strong. But the bigger his opponents got the colder their feet became. It really feels like someone - Vince McMahon or certain underlings, I guess - never truly bolieved in Neville going all the way back to his debut.

I'm not the least bit surprised he wanted out, and wouldn't be shocked if a few more guys in the 'slight and/or under six feet tall' range end up walking in the months to come. It seems like the reestablishment of the WWE Cruiserweight Division made size matter more in the other singles divisions than it has for a while, at least in the eyes of the booker. Balor was the great skinny hope, but this endless Bray feud is killing that too…

 No.80956

If someone as high-profile as him thinks he can make a good living outside of WWE, it's probably going to make a lot of those underutilized guys think thrice about staying. Most of half-decent guys there could probably make the same if not more money on the outside, and probably with less dates. If you're not one of the top-tier guys in WWE the money really isn't all that great. Hell, Aries just recently tweeted that he made more money in 6 weeks on indies than in 4 months at the "big leagues" and I see no reason to not bolieve it.

They made so many wrong decisions that it's reflected in the ratings drop. Maybe if they set Raw to just 2 hours, get rid of NXT, only have a 3 hour Wrestlemania next year, focus more on the ENTERTAINMENT aspect instead of being heavy on wrestling to draw in the casual crowd, maybe just maybe we'll see the ratings go up.

Botcha isn't happy there either because she hates having to do things impulsively (as in, she comes in never knowing what to expect).

Cena has buried more wrestlers than Roman has. Roman at least loses & he hasn't had a world title run since the time he got suspended for taking drugs. Right now it's Brock Lesnar doing the burial holding the Universal title. There's absolutely no reason for Finn Balor not to get his rematch. But the only reason why he hasn't had his rematch is simple, Brock doesn't want to job to Finn Balor because he sees him as a vanilla midget. But you know who has jobbed to Finn Balor? Roman Reigns.

Besides, the Bullet Club hasn't made a big enough impact to get NJPW to be a major threat to the WWE.

>Daniel Bryan's fault for making it more wrestling orientated than story driven.

Daniel Bryan as GM is just a role he doesn't have any real power. Unless you are talking about Bryan in 2013-2014 and its effects on WWE. Though the main reason for this shift, while I think they certainly are appealing to the sBookers, it is WWE's attempt in expanding to international regions, where they don't necessarily speak English. The audience may not understand the promos, so they cut them down and focus more on matches, which is a language every wrestling fan understands. I was listening to Stone Cold's podcast with John Cena and he confirmed this (I think it happened a few years ago). See 39:24 in the embed till 40:41. I think it is also why they have been hiring more foreign wrestlers, with Jinder and Nakamura that is obvious. However, this change to appeal to the international Bookeret has affected the domestic Bookeret. Fans do seem to enjoy promos more than matches, at least enough to care about certain wrestlers more than the others, which is why Enzo, even though as shit he is in the ring, he is over with the audiences because of his mic skills (i don't like his promos but the fans seem to like them).

>Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn went against a creative directive given to them before SmackDown last night and we’re told it contributed to them being sent home.

>Multiple sources tell us Sami and Kevin were supposed to “feed” for New Day following Zayn vs. Kofi Kingston yesterday, but for some reason they didn’t follow directions and left the ring.

>The PWTorch glossary of insider wrestling terms defines “feeding” as: “The heel’s role during a babyface comeback where he runs at the babyface only to be repeatedly fended off, with the hope that the series of bumps by the heel will generate positive fan heat for the babyface.”

>Owens hit the ring as soon as the match ended and attacked Kofi as planned. However, he and Sami quickly bailed from the ring. New Day then stood waiting, same for the sound crew who didn’t play anyone’s music, and the segment ended awkwardly when the two wrestlers seemingly went off script by not taking their planned beating afterward.

>Since publishing the story on Owens/Zayn being sent home, multiple sources reached out saying the duo have been slightly difficult to work with lately and seem unhappy backstage.

>Jericho is confirmed to face Omega at WK12.

I know that, which is why I posted it here where the news BROKE out. If you check his twitter then there's a lot more of this, not just when talking to jericho. It seems too excessive so I know it's more of a work that is, disregarding on the chance that Kenny is actually being 100% serious and he really is a total smark. He hangs around with the bucks, who probably are this serious, you never know.

So the second image seems to be what started this, it was tweeted out a day before their match was announced. Yeah, yeah call me a slowpoke or whatever faggot.

He was on the commentary team on SD, got moved to RAW for a while but was put off to promote The Marine 5 and Booker T was kept as his temporary replacement but Otunga never returned and now Booker has taken his place. What has he even been doing?

TNA did their hardest to be Shockmaster/Dennis Rodman WCW, and they succeeded. Don't sell them short.
