This thread is to discuss meetup points across the states based off of where /k/ommandos reside. Post your general location here. There was a map, but not everyone registered where they live, and many people dont want to make that public info, so we will just discuss rally points here. We could essentially make /k/ like a fourth world nation (a nation within the borders of another) We will also discuss radio communications. Please dont debate the callouts or attire here, the other thread is still open, its just saging. im posting it here so others know it though

so far
Callouts are
>"a nu cheeki breeki!" - "i v damke!" - "get out of here stalker!"
>"cheeki?" - "breeki!" - "get out of here stalker!"
(A three-tier system is best)

Visual identifiers range from
>maroon beret
>deltoid arm protector in tan or black (contrast user's camo) on one shoulder
>fabric armband in black or tan (contrast to user's camo) on arm, 4" wide

>radio info link made by some strelok the other day:

The locals are savvy. Most of them grew up running around in the forest, hunting and fishing. There is limited industry and beautiful land in the region, and the people who live there know the land well.

I doubt there's iron on the island. I'd guess the name comes from the island being a stop on the Minnesota-Chicago shipping line. Even today, with much less Mid-western industry, you see ore ships passing along the coast.

North and South Manitou both have some boarded-up old buildings, a small village on each from before the national park.

(The next bit is about the land between Ludington and Charlevoix, including Manitou. I think that Beaver and the nearest coast has a shorter growing season.)

There are a number of farms that do alright. However, the landscape is rolling, wooded and hilly landscape, and the soil is sandy, with less nutrients than the topsoil further south. Not suitable for large-scale staple crops. Fruits grow well, because Lake Michigan moderates the temperature of the east-ward flowing wind. There are apples, cherries, plums, blueberries, and wild-growing bramble-berries. Unfortunately, Post too long. Click here to view the full text.

Midwestern Streloks Only

Magpie here.

So, we still need to establish the rendezvous point in Illinois in which will be the spot mostly everyone meets before our move to Beaver.

Where in IL is it going to be? I was thinking that during one of our first IRL meetups we could discuss it, but frankly I don't have means to get to much anywhere, and the happening will be coming very soon, and I want to AT LEAST know where I'm heading to meet everyone else when SHTF.

I've already proposed the Woodsmoke Ranch in LaSalle County, couple hours away from Chicago. It's hidden, the whole county is mostly powered by hydro/wind electricity, and it's in a position where we can maneuver away from major roads and/or population areas, while also being do-able for most of the Midwestern streloks.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Ideas?

Reminder, this is discussion for Midwest streloks ONLY.

Westerners got their plan, Southerners got their plan, and Easterners got their plan.

This is planning for us Midwesterners.

I'd reccommend Porter losts of survival/prepper groups and most of LaPorte county is going to head south toward stark. btw I'm in La Porte county and theres 2 of us planning on grouping up if we get this shit figured out.

I'm in Missouri (not in the group) and it seems like having to go anywhere near chicago, or in the direction of any remotely big city, is a disaster. You should go away from those areas. End of world happens and its like going to look for trouble.

It is a nice thought to get to this Beaver area. but it looks like the majority of people are going to have to go through the buzzsaw to get there. Going by St. Louis, Chicago, Indianapolis, and Columbus. Of course there's not many people in these listings so I understand the need to have everyone meet up. Easy defense of an island is a good idea, although escaping an attack is not likely.

Ok wrol I have relatives that have a land (roughly 250 acres) that is currently sort of a farm. My question is how do you feed animals in a situation were you cannot go to the local feed store and buy feed for them? This question has bothered me so much that I've looked into super low maintenance and highly efficient (amount of food they yield per amount of fuel and water you put in them) animals. I've found certain insects (crickets and meal worms) to be far superior to any classic farm animal in fuel and water requirements. Further questions would be what is the best way to feed ourselves in a situation were one cannot simple go out and purchase foods. because depending on the length of a situation will determine weather you need to produce food or if you can simply live off a stored amount of food.

Greetings my fellow Streloks, this is Warscribe.

I wanted to talk to you today about “body armor”. This is not a discussion about the merits or need for armor, this is for those Strelok that have made a decision to utilize it or are curious/interesting in obtaining some.

First, let me start by saying; this is not a “YOU MUST BUY THIS” shilling, this is to help Streloks recognize the different types of armor, it's application, and associated subject matter.

*NOTICE: Body armor may be illegal or require a license in your state/region/county/reservation/country/nation. DO NOT purchase any body armor until you've THROUGHLY reviewed the law in your area regarding the possession and purchasing of body armor.

**NOTICE: This is not an official document, guide, or literature, nor is it endorsed or produced by any agency, organization, company, business, division, subsidiary, or any other entity. The information provided is collected using various sources of data. This is a friendly guide to help individuals become familiar with different types of body armor and it's applications.

Assuming it is legal for a Strelok to own body armor;

Firstly, DO NOT basis your needs off of the kit of others, especially photos off the Internet. This isn't airsoft/paintball. You need to assess your own situation and needs.

Secondly, body armor isn't an “End All, Be All”. It is another tool in the tool box. It is what is known as a “Force Multiplier”, another piece of equipment that can help you survive select situations.

Thirdly, body armor is know by various nomenclature. “flak jacket, bulletproof vest, plate carrier, skull bucket, ect…) In this discussion, “body armor' will be used as a universal term to describe all of these.

I've found from need of impromptu armor that you can make at least a decent knife and punch plate out of two used composition books with plastic covers. I interlocked the pages and covers then did a cross out of duct tape. It hold quite well against a razor blade; it generally gets stuck inside. Knives either cut over the plastic and a few pages in and glance off or get deflected by the plastic outside of it. These can be worn by making a vest out of two shirts sown at the bottom and sides near the vest or can be duct taped against yourself if in need of impromptu stab armor like I needed. Maybe you can find another way to wear it so its more comfortable.

BUT BUT BUT BIIIIIIG BUTTTES, the size is small and I doubt it will sustain anything above airgun calibers. It's been shown that text books and such can take handgun calibers. Maybe worth looking into.

negative sterlock myth busters tested the hand gun and book thing and its not feasible.

what do you guys think about a AR500 shield and soft body armor.

Basically put soft body armor on upper arms shoulder chest sides back thighs (its light so your still mobile but protected from fragmentation).

and the you have a AR500 steel shield or something similar that can take multiple rifle rounds.

This "shield" would give you mobile cover so no matter where you went you could have a barrier between you and enemy fire.

You could also make it inter lockable with other "shields" so you could make a temporary bullet proof wall.

The only thing to worry about would be making it small enough to not insanely heavy but big enough to knell behind and take cover.

.

>what do you guys think about a AR500 shield and soft body armor.

>Basically put soft body armor on upper arms shoulder chest sides back thighs (its light so your still mobile but protected from fragmentation).

This isn't a "bad" idea, if you're operating where you expect to not encounter rifle threats often, but can pull out the shield rifle threats present themselves.

>and the you have a AR500 steel shield or something similar that can take multiple rifle rounds.

There are particulars involved here, AR500 does impressively well against Level-III threats with multiple hits, but M193 has been found to cause penetration issues with AR500. (M193 isn't included on the L-III threat list) It whacks a nice plug out of the armor, enough to be damaging and even lethal. This is because M193 is such a high velocity (3300fps+)

>This "shield" would give you mobile cover so no matter where you went you could have a barrier between you and enemy fire.

Not a horrible idea, the Russian's have a similar setup (pic related), but AR500 starts getting ridiculously heavy as you get larger on the size of our your plate.

>You could also make it inter lockable with other "shields" so you could make a temporary bullet proof wall.

Modeled after the Roman Phalanx, not a bad idea if you're trying to get through an area ricky tick.

>The only thing to worry about would be making it small enough to not insanely heavy but big enough to knell behind and take cover.

Like I mentioned above, as you start to increase the size of your plate, AR500 gets very heavy.

653c0e No.978

>Like I mentioned above, as you start to increase the size of your plate, AR500 gets very heavy.

thats my biggest issue i had a thought of using layers of aluminum and steel. cause i know armored bank trucks use aluminum because its lighter and it deforms to catch bullets better than steel which either breaks what hits it or itself so if you took two pieces of steel and sandwiched a piece of aluminum between. the aluminum would act as a buffer to slow down any projectile.

It's the 870 Special Purpose Marine Magnum, designed for use by the Coast Guard and Port Authority. Mossberg also makes competitive model to the 870, the "500 Mariner".

The 870 Marine Magnum is electroless plated with Nickel, while the 500 Mariner has the Mossberg Marinecote, which is a propriety formula made up of Nickel and Teflon that Mossberg keeps closely guarded (probably Elctroless Nickel).

MSRP for the 870 Marine Magnum is around $840, while the 500 Mariner MSRP is around $550.

Mossberg also makes the 590 "Mariner", also coated with Marinecote, but at a higher MSRP than the 500.

Both can be found cheaper used, as low as mid $600s for the 870 and mid $400s for the 500.

It does have that little fishery and decent sized hydroponics area. That and plenty of underground tunnels for easy travel across the parks. I assume the tunnels go from one part to another but i can only confirm what little i saw under the Magic Kingdom.

308df4 No.822

Actually, it could theoretically work if you are /k/ enough it could work depending on the scenario. Depending on scenario- that is.

Government goes full dictatorship: park would probably stay open for money and tourism. Security would probably be upgraded. Definetly not the place to go in this kind of happening.

Government Collapses or DC and most places are nuked etc: Assuming Orlando or Region arround Kennedy Space Center isn't hit by a nuke and or fallout? Yes. They have tons of food, generators, fuel for the generators, bunkers, supplies, and wild animals depending on the park. The feral cats hunt rats and other animals so disease won't be as bad of an issue and there are nearby lakes and areas to fish. The cons to all these pros is that other people will obviously think of this, and the park may still be open. So you are going to have to compete with others. Also hurricanes and the fact that after a collapse you are going to have to deal with the area it's built on turning slowly into a swamp and dealing with mosquitos.

The bow isn't a permanent solution, it's a haphazardly and quick way to make one in an innawoods situation, and if done right it actually can work.

All you need is a knife, a sapling preferably one that grows in a pair, I don't like cutting down lone saplings make sure the tree is straight and relatively free of surface bumps/knots. And rope, or paracord but I don't like using 550.

Cut down your sapling and spend the next few days shaping and straining the bow, you only have one shot to get it right or it'll be fucked up.

It's best to do this in the winter or late fall, colder weather makes it easy to shape the wood depending on what kind of tree and you can spot a sapling easier without all the undergrowth.

I am not at all a professional in bow making, nor do I have professional skills. I've been making these ones for about 3 years now and I'm still learning.

Drug growing crap (if you can grow pot you can grow barley and some potatoes)

Medical (epidemiology and mil manuals)

Shit ton of Military Manuals

Poor mans James Bond

Some persuasion and psychology books

Books I considered weird/unethical/or have no real place to put but are generally useful for spreading death. (Sad faic)

I have around 200 books, I will post those that I consider of quality to post. These were found on clear net using filetype:pdf searches or on Tor.

My radio guide for Streloks looking to learn how to use a Baofeng properly.

This is v1.2. I will keep adding to it as much as I can. I'm just about to go into HF and CB radio so stay tuned.

(Replying to the CW pixie beacon thingy)

Thank you for your thorough answer!

1. Okay, good to know. Can I use a regular digital multimeter to measure the impedance etc? How do you "calculate" SWR without an SWR bridge or SWR meter?

2. Detailed instructions are a must, I get that. Was planning on that anyhow. Probably testdeploy them a couple times to get the family members familiar with them and that way I can test them.

3. These cheap QRP kits output anything between 800mW and 1.2 Watts.

I'll add a 12v cigarette plug along with the 8xAA battery holder. The batteries will keep it running for a couple hours, yeah. Should be enough with a proper comms plan. Beauty of the thing is that AA batteries are pretty common.

4. Great advise. Was thinking of something along those lines but your advise probably saved me some testing

5. I don't have any HF transreceiver at the moment but I'd guess I'd try it with another pixie as the receiver. I want an HF allmode radio later on. Gonna get my licence too in 2016

Guess I'll have to try somethings out regarding antenna configuration

This guy is doing something very similar

http://www.va3rom.com/docs/PICAXE%20Powered%20CW%20Beacons.pdf

I'd have the arduino + Pixie transmitter right at the center of the dipole, with the antenna connected directly to the PCB, or would I really need a balun?

I also found these "Super Rock mite clones"

http://kb2hsh.blogspot.nl/2014/05/the-chinese-super-rockmite-clone.html

Basically the same as those Pixie kits but with 8 watts of output power @ 12 volts.

Now that's some power…

Washington State general

Invited: Washingtonians
Welcome: Everyone

So far, the plan seems to be taking control of school buses and then heading over to Rocky Reach dam, presumably taking control by force of arms.

Let's solidify this plan.

How are we going to sustain ourselves once we arrive at the dam site? If we're serious about this, we ALL need to learn how to procure food for at least ourselves, and most of us need to have mechanical training in order to maintain the machinery and facilities at the dam as well as modify it for habitation and defensive purposes. There's no room for people who can't contribute somehow.

I still think we should find a more secluded location. Rocky Reach is on a highway and we're bound to get all kinds of people who didn't prepare coming through.

I feel like for Washington we might want two meetup points, because of the obvious difficulties of passing through the cascades during SHTF. The passes can get blocked by snow during the winter, and without crews going through to clear them, they could stay blocked throughout winter.

I propose that we have both an East Washington Rally point and a West Washington Rally point, and then move to the final meetup point when the weather is favorable.

So the Concrete Cement Plant makes a pretty good East Washington rally point, but it is clear across the state from me and a couple other guys I know, what locations can we find for a West Washington rally point? I suggest something further south, as the Concrete rally point is in the north.

Apologies for reviving an old thread, but I deemed it more appropriate to update an old thread rather than create a whole new one.

What makes you think you're welcome here?

Concrete is west of the Cascades, /k/omrade. But I agree that the passes would be difficult in a wrol scenario, especially given a lack of communications with Streloks on the east side.

I am a canadafag from vancouver. if shit ever goes south in both countries at once, what will I have to do to team up with you lot? I already know it is a 30 hour hike from my current place to Conrete WA. I can get there.

Hmm, okay but someone should make a thread on /k/ but don't link the board or else it will seem like a gay advert
