So lets talk about CBRN/NBC…

What are your plans in the occurrence CBRN event?

What equipment do you have? Is it up-to-date/serviceable?

What's your plan for obtaining information?

Just a few of the questions we should be asking ourselves, what are your questions or concerns?

6a6aab No.811

Chemical: nothing. Not worrying about it. If it is actually an issue where i am, and its severe enough, ill become an hero. Or just take a boat/car to maine and hide away in the mountains.

Biological: this is the shit that scares me. Id probably move all my water inside. Pump my pool out into huge thick plastic bins in the basement. Seal the windows and doors and anything else such as electric outlets and shit. Seal the chimney off. Hope to god my generators work, hope to god i have enough fuel to power my gas-operated generators. Make sure that no one in my home is infected by whatever it may be by locking ourselves in our bedrooms for a period of three days. Luckily, theres a bathroom for all of us. If symptoms show, then probably suicide into a ditch or some shit. Go out the window, make sure the bedroom door is sealed.

Radioactive: im outside of the hazard zone, so im all good. If we get nuked, or the nearest reactor melts down so bad that im at risk, then board and cover the windows, and stay inside probsbly in the basement. Take iodine pills, make sure all water and food is inside the middle room in the house.

Nuclear: same as radioactive, except with more guns and more going outside. I got a HazMat suit, which should suffice for basic protection from radioactive material. I have a servicable Israeli gas mask with many unused filters, a CamlPak which attaches to the gas mask, and enough ammo and reloading supplies to last me a while.

Getting info? I have a hand-crank and solar-powered radio, many spare batteries for my Motorola and my UV-5R. Other than that, i dont think info is too big a deal. If im in the shit, getting food and clean water is a bigger concern than intel.

My questions: is cannibalism bad for you? I mean, morally it probably will take a toll, but medically speaking, is there any actual factual evidence to say do not do? Id only eat the leanest melanin enriched folks who stumble across my perimeter lines of defense.

9e217e No.815

>>811

I couldn't commit cannibalism, primarily from a moral standpoint, followed by the psychological disposition of eating human flesh.

There are some biological issues with cannibalism, but most prominent is Kuru;

https://news.utexas.edu/2011/07/14/cannibalism

If you've ever seen "Book of Eli", where Denzel Washington's and Mila Kunis's characters come upon the elderly couple with an serious arsenal, but they suffer from severe bodily shaking…that's Kuru.

Another danger is the possible transfer of disease and other biological hazards.

An excellent example of a CBRN situation that can play out in SHTF; The West Lake Landfill Fire.

In 2010 the landfill experienced a (SSE) "subsurface smoldering event". Such events are not overly common, but occur enough to be considered serious threats on a global scale.

An SSE feeds off of oxygen caught in cracks, crevasse, strata, and other points below the surface. An SSE can burn for decades, generating fumes, combustible gases, and other particulate that rise the surface, negatively effecting local air quality.

(See Centralia, PA for another example of an SSE)

What makes the West Lake Landfill Fire more dangerous than a normal SSE, is the presence of large amounts of radiologically contaminated materials that where illegally buried in the landfill that are waste and production materials from the Manhattan Project and post-war isotope production. There is believed to be over 45,000 tons of contaminated material buried at the site, initial reports in 1973 showed that the only isotope present at the site was barium sulfate, but recent spectrometer reading of soil samples indicate Uranium, Thorium, and other isotopes are present at the site as well.

Currently, the fire is within 1,000yrds of the waste material, which if (please note "IF") it makes contact will introduce radiological particulate into the air on the surface. Republic Services, the contractor managing the landfill has spent $100,000,000 in funds to stop the spread of the fire, but has been unsuccessful in their attempts.

Because of the unknown types of isotopes present, the risk of excavation is high in causing more problems, because many waste production materials may be pyrophoric.

>make sure all water and food is inside the middle room

Doesn't matter if it got irradiated. All you gotta take care of is radioactive particles getting in your food. If it's sealed, it's safe.

Cryptography thread?

Cryptography thread.

Alright faggots, y'all need to learn about making codes and ciphers.

Lets start off firstly what are codes and what are ciphers.

A code, 1 input 1 output. Much like a word in a dictionary. Generally for words or for phonetic sounds.

British = Dong

Coming = Expanding

THE DONG ARE EXPANDING!

The shortfall to codes are that they are generally a 1 to 1 conversion. Repeat one thing enough, it sticks out to the cryptanalyst. They're bulky as well.

Code books are large, easy to steal, and generally inconvenient. Bible code = shit guys, everyone knows it. Even my Grandpa. Also, codes are used incorrectly many times.

Use the code for a name, not for an action. Lets say its back during chanology,

Hack = snorkle

DOS = pancake

Lets Pancake paypal.com

The target is known to those listening, so they know something will happen to paypal.com but what is the question.

Shekel lords = Visa

Lets DOS Shekel Lords

There are more whos, than whats in the world.

A cipher… its math pretty much.

K = Key

O = Operation

M = Message

C = Ciphertext

(C) = ((K+O)M)

If I can math correctly, this means Ciphertext is Key and Operation plus one message.

Change the key, different output, change the message, different output, change the operation….. obviously different output.

File: 1448084405419.jpg (1.54 MB, 2560x1920, 4:3, ADFGVX.jpg)

So lets start with something basic, ADFGVX. This cipher works great because the letters are very distinct in morse code, not to mention the limited letters makes it harder to cryptanalyze. 6 letters, transposed over an odd transposition makes it much harder to crypt analyze.

Firstly, you will require a minimum of 10 letters for a password/phrase and a date/5 digit number.

My password is Roughnecks and my date is 7/4/1776

We will serialize the letters in the password. The letter that comes first in the alphabet is going to be number 1, the next is 2 and so on. So C is one, there is no D, but there is an E so E is 2, G is 3 and so on, 0 is the final letter.

Once you have serialized the key, underneath, go to the date you've written down, make sure you have 5 numbers out of it. Make up 5 random numbers in your head and proceed to write out the the numbers under he date at the top. Add the two numbers together using mod10 addition.

Now, chain add the seed you just made with the date and your 5 random numbers. This should make 10 digits in a small box next to your serialized password. You will take this number and add it to the serialized number. Use mod10 arithmetic again. You should now have a seemingly random number. You will chain add 30 digits under it.

The original 10 will be the transposition key. Transpose from lowest to highest order 7 rows or 21 digits.

Use this as a key for transposition, I recommend 3 groups of 7 to ensure you write all of the numbers.

Using the Polybius square, write your letters underneath. Once you've finished your message transpose it.

You will notice with the cipher it is easy to make the mistake of forgetting one of the transposition columns, you will also note that with the chain addition, one small error can propagate through the whole stream corrupting more than just one digit.

058521 No.921

File: 1448085380730.jpg (1.47 MB, 1920x2560, 3:4, Double Transposition.jpg)

>>920

So, now that we can do a single columnar transposition, why not do two? That's what everyone has thought of in every military out there. It's simple, it works. Still has the same drawbacks as a single transposition.

This time we're going to need to make 50 digits of PRNG instead of 30.

We're going to use English here instead of using substituted text. This makes it easier on the operator to tell if the message came through.

Now, we're going to take 20 digits, or 4 columns in lowest to highest order again and write that out.

This will be your first transposition key, then we will write out our message under this. We will then go a few rows down and write out a second transposition key using the unused columns, from what is left from the lowest to highest order select for more columns.

See on the second transposition where I have that little pyramid under the 1? I am going to find the lowest number furthest to the left and make a no-go zone for my text. Make sure to compensate for any line breaks, like I have with mine. Begin to transpose from the first key into the first spot on the left. Fill up the go zone on the left first before filling up the nogo zone on the right. Also, this has to be in complete accordance to your cipher text size.

Once everything is filled in under the second key, just transpose again. You should finally have some real garbally ass gook down in the bottom.

Now instead of using a polybius square we're going to use straight English text just because its easier on the cipher operators. I recommend that you have at least 100 digits of text, this is because you can anagram English looking for letters like THE or something in the jumbled text and try to work out the key. More text enciphered more possibiliteies to start from. When using quatsch make sure you use reversed anagrams or something to throw off the lead of the cryptanalyst. The letter Q is only followed by U in EngliPost too long. Click here to view the full text.

This is one of my home brews, what if you were to encorporate a geographical position with a random key? For example if you have

ABCD

If you chose A with an even key number it made you select the letter to the right, which is B, odd, to the left, D.

What if you were to expand that into all directions, up down left right and diagonal in every direction? This is what you would get.

PRNG

We use a 20 letter key instead of 10, this gives us more randomness and the ability to change up the key gen so its less apparent. 0's are ignored. We ill take the key, and use that to find the position of the ciphertext digit based on the position of the plaintext digit. To the top left we can see where each number corresponds. 1 to the top left, 9 to the bottom right, 5 keeps the ciphertext digit the same to prevent against attacks like enigma. 1/9th possibilty for everything seeing as 0 is removed from the equation.

When transmitting this message by voice

. = dot

? = querry

- = hyphen

/ = oblique

Once you've finished writing everything down, it helps to have a second sheet of paper so you can solve by row and then write it out in 5 figure groups after solving the cipher text.

Greetings streloks! I'm new to this board from /k/. I'd previously written it off as a dead board, but it seems to still get a few posts per day and I realized that the best way to revive a dead board is to go on it.

Anyway, since bugging in is clearly the best choice for temporary wrol (as all wrol really is), do you guys plan to power your house/apartment at all? If so, how? If not, why?

I've been interested in solar panels and electronics lately, and I'm thinking of trying to build some sort of solar stove for unlimited renewable stealthy cooking if the grid goes down. I'll probably avoid using any fixed lighting because of the potential for attention it could draw, but cooking post-collapse seems like a serious issue. I haven't seen people talk about it other than using a charcoal grill, but that's really conspicuous. What are your post-collapse cooking plans?

Also, get yourself a Luci light if you haven't already, this thing has saved my ass during the frequent blackouts where I live.

There is a torrent on i2p for it, so you can get it anonymously. It's filled with good ideas both for survival and for avoiding a flavourless post-apocalyptic existence. Recipies for everything from canned food to wild plants, strategic advice for wether to bug in or bug out etc.

Probably a good idea to buy a physical copy if you want to read it during WROL.

ITT: post guns thar are very reliable and talk about them. Also, correct me if i am wrong about these. Use redtext to point it out so everyone can see how dumb OP is.

AKM/AK74 series rifles

G3/PTR-91 series rifles

FAL/SA-58 series rifles

These rifles are extremely reliable.

The AK is known for being able to use any type of ammo thrown in it and still function properly. Some AKs use proprietary parts, while others use commonly found parts which can sell for cheap. The issue is corrosive surplus ammo, and optics. Many AKs are minute-of-man at 100m, usually 3 MoA. They are on the small side for big guys (im 6'3", i cant use one easily), and weigh slightly more than an AR. They may not be accurate, but they work. Not really useful beyond 250m unless you know what youre doing. But at that range. You want a full power round. This cheap intermediate-cartridge firing rifle is nice, but prices have climbed over the years. Expect to pay 600$-800$ for a decent one. High end ones go for 1,600$, and probably arent worth it. 1,000$ is about what is paid for a good one.

The G3/PTR-91, though less known, is more reliable than the FAL series rifles, for the fact it has no gas port, and is less vulnerable to sand issues. Firing the .308/7.62 real fuckin NATO, it is more powerful than the AKM, because .308 > 7,62x39, and more accurate than both. The delayed roller blowback design allows for the bullet to leave the barrel before cycling the gun, getting maximum velocity. There are some issues with some rifles where the roller depths arent proper, but for the most part, this is fine, and can be fixed by replacig the rollers, or entire bolt carrier. G3 mags are 2$/per, and spare furniture is extremely cheap. The downsides are odd mag release (fixed by gunsmith for 60$), and the front non-reciprocating charging handle. This gun is large for me, so it should be huge for small people and those vertically challenged folks. Designed off of the CETME, which was designed by an escaped Nazi off of the STG-45 schematics, this gun is about as old as the AK design. These prices vary on model, from 800$-2,100$. The cheap ones shoot around 1-2MOA. expensive ones arPost too long. Click here to view the full text.

I think that helmets would still be useful just to save yourself from concussion if you trip and fall or if you bang your head on a doorway.

However, I am of the personal opinion that steel pot helmets are probably the best choice for me in a wrol situation because:

A. Essentially the same level of protection as kevlar for around $20

and B. You can use steel helmets as a cook pot, hot water pot, or wash basin and it can be used on a campfire.

However, steel is heavy and it doesn't allow integration of NVGs, so its something I will have to work around in that regard.

8e2a47 No.846

>>845

Steel pots are a good intermediate form of protection. They'll stop lower velocity pistol rounds dead cold, but glancing shots can be deadly and higher velocity rounds may penetrate.

Kevlar is designed to stop incoming projectiles up to Level-IIIA rating, including glancing shots. Remember, Kevlar is a weaved fiber, so it has certain properties that formed steel doesn't.

If you all you can afford or obtain is a steel pot and PASGT-V or similar vest, than you're already a left up on protection over those with nothing.

Never used one, but seem decent to me, never had an a piece of Swiss surplus that wasn't up to snuff with it's NATO equivalent.

Just treat them before use. If they're just standard rubber, bleach should be fine.

I'm making a belt with a few SHTF essentials on it that I carry everywhere, just in case of a sudden societal collapse.

I just bought a personal first aid kit, which has most of the bits you need for basic first aid (bandages, dressings etc.), some saline solution plastic ampoules, a small CPR mask with a one way valve on it and some butterfly wound closers/steri-strips. Gonna put some paracetamol, ibuprofen and maybe some codeine in there if I've got any left laying about.

Anyone else know what else I can shove in there?

So far you've got a decent aid kit, look into IFAK (Individual/Improved First Aid Kit) to see if it's something you'd want to carry. You don't have to carry an IFAK purchased from a vendor, I put one together on my own, have field compression bandages, quikclot (hemostatic agent), eye patch, some wound treatment, as well as what you'd find in a standard aid kit.

Do you have any water filtration or treatment systems? Something like Lifestraw or treatment tablets?

Knives, not knife, but knives. Two is one, one is none.

A way to start a fire, something like a magnesium flint or a small, reusable lighter like a Zippo (but you do need to carry fuel for a lighter).

A flashlight, something with decent lumens, that has a decent battery life, and is water resistant.

When SHTF we are going to need doctors, farmers, fishermen, mechanics, tailors, smiths, carpenters, and everything else necessary to support a settlement. So far as I know, we haven't actually taken stock of what skills we all bring to the table. Therefore, in this thread post:

>What you know/role you could fill

>What people who you could bring with know/role they could fill

and if you notice a particular deficiency:

>What you could learn

Also, post any other information about what you could bring to the table when SHTF. This could be military experience, equipment (e.g. I live on a farm and could bring seeds) or any other miscellany.

I'l start then

>Know

Basically fuck-all. I have a very basic understanding of agriculture and know a bit about carpentry.

>What people I know know

My dad is a skilled carpenter with ~30 years of experience, My uncle is an engineer working for GM. His hobby is Ham radio and he has a big-ass tower in his backyard. My mother is an excellent accountant and a skilled organizer, and I know a few people who hunt regularly

>What I can learn

I want to expand my knowledge of agriculture, (I figure all of us should have a decent grounding in that) and I want to learn some first aid. (Also something I think all of us should have at least a basic amount of training in)

>What I can bring

My uncle owns a small fishing boat we /may/ be able to lug across the state, and my dad has a complete carpentry workshop in the basement that could be raided.

I agree with you, but arguing against something that has clearly become dogma is impossible.

CLASS: Medical doctor (subclass Anaesthesia & Intensive Care)

REQUIRES: Access to drugs, medical tools, life support machines, assistance of surgeons and laboratory staff etc. So not very helpful in WROL unless friendly skreloks can secure a hospital or at least some of its equipment.

DEFICIENCIES: Useless at combat. Should probably work on that.

IN PROGRESS:

1) Getting my ham license in a week. (Gotta be contactable when the phones are down if my services are going to be used).

2) Lockpicking (level novice)

BONUS: Wide knowledge of poisons and elegant methods of physical torture.

I think I'm fairly well arranged as far as skills go. Worked as a mechanic from 15-19, spent 4 years in the military in a combat MOS, grew food as a kid with my grandparents and do so on my own now, and am in college now working on a degree in chemistry. I try to do a little bit of everything, I like to work with metal, leather, and occasionally carpentry, though I definitely don't have a mastery of those skills.

With the internet, it's absurdly easy to get a broad skillset.

would it be viable to buy some basic tooling to make basic home brewed guns when SHTF? Maybe trade some of them for food and other supplies? Based on that old Bosnian account of their SHTF a trade like that could come in handy

It wouldn't be a terrible idea. A bench mill, small lathe, drill press, vise, grinder, sander, welder, forge+anvil, and the solar/wind power to run it. It would take quite the investment to be useful in SHTF.

Double the amount of equipment if working carpentry. Saws, chisels, router, belt/barrel sander, clamps, etc.

First priority should be an independent infrastructure to even support a SHTF shop. After that, work with neighbors to build some support and recognition in the established community, this will make you less of an outsider and give them a reason to invest in you in a SHTF situation.

there is a metal working shop in town that I may be able to use if I can figure out the problem of power, but I was thinking of a khyber pass tier garage shop. like your idea better.

So people said rocky top but that one faggot was just talking shit so its high time we find a new location,

I propose Theif neck island in the watts bar lake (the "lake" is more like a river, and I' think it connects with the Mississippi river at some point)

It's large enough that if we camp out in the forest in the middle we should be able to light fires and things without being seen, also impossible for sniper fire.

https://www.google.com/maps/@35.7986183,-84.6617061,2582m/data=!3m1!1e3

We could be here for a few months up until the final trek to Beaver Island, in that time were going to have to find boats, food, weapons and ammunition, and perhaps normalfags that are willing to come with us.

>B-but wot about winter!

Down here in NC it isn't too bad so I'm assuming its the same for Tennessee, and on the bad snowy days there probably won't be too many raiders wandering about so we could light fires and use jackets.

any other possible locations?

Thick woods with good cover, but just enough habitation in the area to steal if necessary. I can think of a hill that rises up out of nowhere that we can go to that should be good for a holeup site. The area around it is completely flat, but it rises up at a steeper than 45 degree angle. There's just enough underbrush to keep a defender concealed, but not so much that operating is a nightmare.

So this thread went off about radiations and such, which should be considered in a location but I dont think a location has really been set.

So what are the top locations that have been put up for debate and is there any issues in them. Also dying board is dying

lol is it really that hard to read the thread?

Clingmans dome is the top part, though somewhere along the Appalachian Trail is good because then we could meetup with each other using a not very used road.

0b55f6 No.174[Reply]

Since this board is very particular, and there are to be only a handful of users, we should stop being "anonymous." We are discussing meeting up, and possibly one day working together to ensure the survival of America and Freedom. There is no point to have to tell us who you are in each thread by saying what part of what state youre from, so why dont we do this?-

Start namefagging

In your name, you should add your state as well. It should look like this in the name field:

"(state abbrev.)- YourNameHere #PasswordHere"

Maybe use this thread to tell us about yourself.

Maybe use this thread to explain your goals if SHTF.

Maybe use this thread to tell us how big of a faggot i am.

Maybe use this thread to tell us how shitty of an idea this thread is.

Maybe use this thread to add your own ideas.

Add me in here if you want, I'm in fulton county Ga

I have a relatively secluded place on a lake with deer/abandoned buildings in excess, a bow and fishing stuff, a concrete shed with a downstairs, septic toilets (can still flush once water has been cut off) and i'm in the process of selecting a firearm. only drawbacks is that im only 17 and have dogs

Accepting yuropoors too?

I don't really have any firearm experience other than some basic armchair knowledge since I'm still a student and on top of that poor and unemployed but I plan to study IT in college because it pays kinda well in my country so I could in the meantime supply some amateur IT knowledge?

SHTF/WROL was always a kind of unlikely scenario. However, with the way things are going in the world, it's becoming more and more likely with each year so I believe we will have to deal with these things eventually. It won't be the next 5 or 10 years, even though the TPP/TIPP and similar things are trying to rob us of our freedom every 2 years. Like 15 or 20 years, +-2 years max.

Nobody from the land of Filthadelphia, Queerie, and Picksburgh? This must be remedied ASAP.

I've got pic related with 3 mags and 800~ rounds, definitely going to get more of both in August, though. Still working on my bag, just need foodstuffs and a way to purify water.

Also, this map might be a good resource. I don't know how up-to-date it is, but it should give you guys a good idea on who is where: https://www.zeemaps.com/map?group=772301
