I've been working with one of the debris crews in cumberland county and i found a pretty odd area south of crossville.

Laje tansi was originally planned as a retirement community, and is a perfect example of how fucked in the head real estate agencies are, bevause they bought up the land, built swimming pools, two golf courses, a gym, and even a whole network of indian-themed roads before realizing most of the area is unsuitable for construction.

So its a pretty creepy place where land is cheap.

First off everyone waved at me when i drove through, the last time that happened my plt leader got the turret blown off his MRAP.

Second; dead dogs EVERYWHERE.

Finally, arrow drive.

It is a dead-end road leading to one of the many fishing lakes. And we were ckearing broken trees out of there when i noticed some shit.

So we went to cut this dead ass tree downb wasn't storm damage but hell i figured wed do the folks a favor. Whatevs ill take that ass chewing.

Problem was it was on a ledge, so it was a bit of a challenge. But it was then i found a little cave under the tree with the remains of two dogs and a trail of bones leading off into the woods. So im like "oh boy time to explore. So i get my FOX. Srs bzns mace foam and take a hike. It proves anticlimactic. But i i notive there was more than two dogs died here.

A lot more.

So next time the cutter goes down to sharpen his saw i take a trip down this trail.

And not far in i come to this tree that looks like it got hit by a cannonball. And i notice whats behind it just off the trail.

I find this off the road. The shoes had their insoles pulled out.

I placed a old botte of vaseline i found 30 ft away next to it for the lulz.

So i keep walking and the farther i gore the stronger the smell of corpse gets. So i never made it farther than the fork in the path.

If y'all are ever exploring creepy shit in east tennessee maybe add lake tansi to your list of destinations.

And inside the cave.

I found two more skulls while followi g the bones. And eventually came to a bunch of little burrows. Too small to be any coyote or even fox, and on top of that most the ground around there is slate; much too rocky for proper burrows.

So who knows im all im an expert on is dicks and guns.

Later iwe were doing work near this abandoned house.

I went to piss by the woods next to it, noticed a new lock on one of the sheds while the other looked ransacked.

When i got back to my truck i looked at the house, and the door was open.

A couple coworkers confirmed it was closed when we drove up.

Drove by the next day and the door was closed.

Are there any greyhound breeders around that area you were in? The shit hole town I grew up in had some dodgy greyhound breeders that would breed their dogs illegally and only register a select few; often they'd race several similar looking dogs under the same name. They'd kill the animals that weren't profitable and dump them in the scrub and bushland that surrounded the town. I'd come across dog skeletons with very long, slender bones on a regular basis. Often they'd saw the muzzles off the dogs before they dumped them (I have no idea if the animals were still alive when the breeders did that) because the greyhound association required all of the registered animals be tattooed on their gum lines.

Alternatively, the corpses might have been dumped by people involved in dog fighting.
