i guess the real question i'm asking is, does this sound like something that already existed and could be separate, or something they made up, like a tulpa or some shit.

i dont deny that they think it's real but its a matter of did it exist prior to them seeing it (or thinking they saw it?)

how can something be both real and "imagined"

i can see how it becomes real after its imagined, but what i want to know is it this description matches anthing else any other person has seen. if its all made up, its all under control, but if there's even a slight chance, this is not a human willed entity, then i need to know as soon as possible.

I had seen something simular to that. My freind and myself were walking down the road, and there it was walking through a slew. Never could figure out what it was, it was rather tall however. Looked right at me and my freind, then just kept on walking. Then simply vanished, never seen it again.

Hi OP. Hope you're still checking this thread occasionally after this time. This really interests me, for reasons I'll explain. Anyone else reading who thinks they have any info/explanation, go ahead and post it as well.

Probably unnecessary blog posting but I have been freaking out a bit recently thinking about death. I really don't want to cease to exist. So, naturally, I'm thinking about afterlifes and ghosts and all that shit. I've always been a bit skeptical, but now I really "want to believe". Kind of sad.

Because of this, my mind was cast back to something my father told me. A few things, actually, about experiences he had growing up and continuing into adult life. I will not post about them all because they're tied to personal traumatic events for him. But there's a kind of thing he thinks has been haunting him. Much like you described, it's a shadowy, human like figure, with no real face, more an outline of something, and it has elongated fingers or talons/claws. The only difference is this thing usually appears in dreams or sleep paralysis, and is usually floating or coming down from the ceiling, pushing down on his chest, or sucking the life out of him.

The downside to afterlife and spirits and shit would be, like in life, some would be malicious, I assume. So, is something really fucking with him all these years and it's not just mental issues?

I have also had a similar dream/sleep paralysis and seen the thing. I'm not sure if it happened before he told me about it, or if it was after, and so could be explained as he influenced the dream. But that might be worth a note (family curse?)

Tl;dr What is this thing OP and I speak of?

the text descriptions of this "allu" talk them waiting at the bedside of the father at death, so that they may claim his soul as their own.

this would make sense that such a thing would be drawn to the person, especially given any paternal issues.

I've only seen the thing once that I can remember. It's more something annoying my father for… decades now. Though I gave him similar advice intuitively (not to focus on it and it'll go away).

OP, have you attempted any divination with the demon? Perhaps, if both of you gather together, get your candles, offering, sigil working, abstract drawing of the demonic visage, maybe some runes and tarot to help channel the energy, an apparition may appear to you through dreams or other means.

wow, you just described something that I photographed years ago when I was a young teenager (obviously, the phone I took the photo with broke). at the time I was getting A LOT of paranormal activity in my house, and at one point it got as bad as having my head physically pinned to my pillow one morning.

the modern name for it is a shadow person. although, they've been observed throughout history in different cultures and go by a few names. the one thing that makes me question the scientific explanation of pareidolia, is how people who have seen it for more than a split second describe them.

it never usually strays far from that description. which just so happens to be what I saw, too. also, in my personal opinion, I've noticed that they tend to like manifesting around children. so if you're past that age, you'll probably never see one up close again.
