Its a beautiful thought, i'm absolutely in love with anything that hints towards Transhumanism. Although with that being said i do understand that these type of technological advancements simply will not happen in our lifetime. It does not work like that and at this point in time we are barely at the research stage, if not way before. Its not like we find out about something and then boom its out available to the public. Research is needed which many years, tests which takes many years, etc etc.

Its like that 2045 campaign thats backed by a russian billionaire and Ray Kurzweil, its a beautiful thought but they are very optimistic about the whole project. According to them immortality will be available by 2045, which is absurd.

But with that being said i admire all of their efforts.

I'm not that anon but I agree. That's why I'm not really optimistic about projects like these, I'm insanely in love futurism and the idea of expanding of life span through technology. But with that being said, like you said, we don't even know what "self" is. I don't think we are any close to understanding consciousness now as we were 50 years ago.
