Weird Twitter and all its original 'stars' are ex-FYAD posters from Something Awful. FYAD was a unique forum that is best summed up by this post from a past user:

Only certain people got away with posting there, anyone new was told to fuck off if they weren't perceived as being funny or 'fyad' enough, and if they didn't they ended up being banned by the guy who owns the site. It may have been an exercise in group dynamics. The owner and moderators were mostly jewish fwiw.
