The only "lack of belief" is the lack of opinion. A person as desperate to dress up his opinion about something as "lack of belief" as a typical atheist is, in fact, simply wants to dodge self-examination, a symptom of sociopathy.
Atheism is a positive belief in -at minimum- two things:
1.) Belief that they possess insight into what "God" is supposed to be, that is superior to what the people who actually believe in him have.
2.) Belief in a model of the universe that can be fully conjectured from human ideas about the universe, which excludes the "supernatural".
The gimmick with such logic is that 1.) is also invented from 2.), so the logic is entirely circular.
And absurd everywhere.
TL; DR:
Atheism is the belief you can know it better what religion is about than the people who practice it, because you've made up a virtual reality where what you think is the beginning and the end.
It's autism.
