I've never seen a thread 'bout them, so why not make one?

Tulpas are basically self-induced hallucinations, something like an imaginary friend, although it is more self-aware and if you create it right it will appear independently of your will. I have started the process of creating mine, it (an ammount that varies, depends on your personality and will) should take about 50 hours of meditation. You can create one in two ways, first the personality and voice (when you create one you will have to discuss their appearance with them) or the appearance first (the way I've gone with, it's a voiceless being, in my case a wild west cowboy, decided to go with that). The word and belief of the fact Tulpas exist originates from Tibet, you can read some of Alexandra David-Neel's works, she was an orientalist back in the 1800s. Her Tulpa actually became sentient and started working against her, so she had to absorb it back into her mind, which was harder than creating it. What's the point of creating one? Well, if you manage to create an useful one, you can use it to extract knowledge from your sub-conciousness (f.e. someone from your family put something in some place, your conciousness doesn't remember where, but you have definitely seen it. You can then ask your Tulpa where it is and in that case it will tell you the truth. You can't however use it to get the information about some place you haven't been to, because if you ask your Tulpa to do the above for you, it will definitely lie). The most important thing in creating that being is believing it can be created. It's a hallucination, therefore you have to pretty much hypnotize yourself. Well, take your time and good luck.

Go on…

Paragraphs motherfucker, do you use them? It's kinda hard to read what you wrote.

There is a board here called >>>/tulpa/ which is seriously in need of users and I recommend you post there, maybe that's why you never saw a thread about them and also because for some reason, probably because tulpas are too cool for /x/, they get their panties in a bunch whenever they see a tulpa thread.

You have my attention, how exactly does one set about creating a Tulpa?

 No.22239

Isn't the whole tulpa thing just giving yourself a mental illness?

 No.22240

>>22234

Writing from my phone, so like, yeah, can't do jack shit.

>>22235

You have to meditate. Sit in one place, preferably in silence and just think every detail of their appearance/character (whatever you go first with) over and over again. Repetition, just like in working out is the key. Then you have to imagine the tulpa's voice in your head or it's view somewhere in the room, field, whatever

>>22239

Basically yes. As I wrote in the thread, it's a hallucination, that can go out of your restrains, therefore it can be considered an illness.

>>22240

Is it worthy giving yourself madness for this?

 No.22247

>>22244 (checked)

I honestly don't know at all. I have basically nothing to lose, as I'm a massive fuckhead. You don't want to see me when I have a bad day or see my darkest.. erm, fantasies.

>>22247

Don't get edgy. I have been dealing with edgelords like you since I browsed Half/x/.

 No.22256

>>22249

I knew you would say that. I'm not edgy, I am diagnosed with sociopathy and bipolar disorder, therefore I can safely assume you have been dealing with shithead edgy teens and not really mental fuckheads.

 No.22258

>>22256

bragging about being a sociopath is pretty edgy, sorry mate

 No.22337

Have no fear, OP is back here.

>>22247

Who the fuck are you?

>>22244

Uh, no fucking clue, people have free will, so it's up to you.

Some people consider the Slenderman a Tulpa that went to far, gone sexual etc.

In my personal opinion, it's worth it for the sole experience (kinda weird like that, like to experience new things, does not matter in which category).

Tried doing paragraphs, still on my phone, so no idea whether or not the crybabies will be happy.

 No.22366

It can be a demon too, it's not always a tulpa, especially if it would lie to you. They'll do anything to establish an attachment to you.

 No.22367

>>22366

I really doubt that can happen. A lot of techniques look at it from a completely materialist viewpoint, in a way this isn't paranormal.

In fact the "wonderland" construct goes as far back as ancient greece as a method to improve memory.

 No.22368

>>22367

I knew what you meant, just saying that 'sometimes' it can be a demon, not sure if you believe in that or not. There is a lot that the mind can do, I know most people do not use their brains to full capacity, so using this method to improve memory does not surprise me. I use visualization to memorize things myself, but I've learned not everyone can do that. I can't imagine not being able to do that.

 No.22401

>>22244

It's totally worth it man.

>>22239

It's not an illness but a symptom of an illness. If you are a /v/irgin, an example would be that quest in Morrowind where you get elven AIDS in red mountain which slowly turns you into a mutant but also makes you resistant to all disease, except you get cured of being turned into a mutant but still get to keep the advantages of it (resistance to disease). You can also think of it this way, if you had sickle cell anemia, you would be resistant to malaria, so again, you are just taking advantage of a useful symptom.

>>22247

Bring your darkest fantasies to life anon.

>>22366

I believe you and I actually get better results with my tulpa by thinking that. The thought frightens me and the fact that it frightens me makes me think that it is real.

 No.22407

>>22401

Yes, if it is real, then it feeds on the energy from negative emotions like fear. So you are right, though I try not to fear it.
