Could we get a thread of images of what you think are some signs, symbols, or markings that embody /x/, to you?

Magic circles, star signs, demonic sigils, or just plain creepy or interesting marks.

I like the Green Man, it is said to be a Celtic symbol, or god of forest and fertility, some say it's far older than the Celts, back to prehistorical fertility rites. mainly. His face appears mainly in cathedral and churches.

Others said this is all New Age bullshit, and the Green Man meaning and origin is still a mystery.

Is the circle on the second one broken on purpose? If so, never heard of that…

I think it's "broken" because it was part of some larger whole. Like in pic related >>20160 , it would be around the 11 o'clock position.

Also, thanks for the contribution.

Keep 'em coming!

The Atlantis Cross. is a sign of recognition among groups who claim an Atlantean descent; that is to say, people who believe that they are descended, literally or spiritually, from inhabitants of the lost island of Atlantis. The crossed circle that forms a main feature of this symbol represents the four elements and the four directions

It was also new for me, I discovered it recently. There are thousands of symbols out there we know nothing about. Even words we thought are common and pedestrian may contain or be part of a secret alphabet.

Like this one, The Rotas Square:

This word square is an ingenious palindromic construction, and can be read in any direction: forward, backward, top to bottom, and bottom to top. The oldest example of it that has been discovered so far is in the ruins of Herculanaeum, an ancient Roman city that was destroyed in the volcanic eruption that also overwhelmed Pompeii in the first century AD. Thereafter, it crops up in all sorts of places: in the cathedral in Siena, in a small chapel near Rennes-le-Château in France, in Malta, Syria, and the UK. It appears on the front cover of the infamous magical tome The Book of the Sacred Magic of Abra Melin the Sage, which is considered to be the ultimate guide to the Kabbalah.

Similarly cool.

Though, for me at least, I'm more interested in the symbols, or iconography, and their meanings.

Since they're usually more striking and unique. But, keep whatever you've got comin'!

In Egyptian, Akhet means “dawn.” This symbol—often made into an amulet by the Ancient Egyptians—symbolized the new Sun rising over the sacred mountain.

The symbol sometimes features the double-headed lion, or Aker, that guards it, and is also related to the glyph used to denote the astrological sign of Libra

This is a Schrattlgatterl, Drudengatterl or Trudengatter from German Folklore.

A symbol made from sticks that was put on doors in old times, to keep houses and barns protected from demons, witches, elves and nightmares. Sometimes its was even put on knifes or burned into doors and furniture.

It was often used, because it contains several other symbols. There is the normal Christian Cross, the St. Andrew Cross and the St. Peter Cross, but also several Runes are inside it, like Kaunan, Gebo, Isaz, Algiz, Dagaz and Jera.

Interestingly because its a self holding construct, you can create it out in the woods even if you have no cord or tape, but versions that are bound together are also common.
