I'm not sure where to post about this, so I'll take a gamble with /x/.
There's a stationary flashing light that is flashing red blue yellow and green which I thought was a helicopter or airplane at first but when I looked with binoculars it was way higher and much further away. Star or satellite? Google didn't turn up anything helpful since anyone who already raised the question still hasn't had it answered; just what the fuck is this thing?

You could always report it to NUFORC (if ur in the States). Might even be other reports of sightings of the same object or other activity in the same area.
But it's hard to tell. Flashing colored lights usually means something conventional. There's sites out there that track satellite movements that you could compare it to as well. Even check the ISS path. Just suggesting some things I did when I had a similar high altitude sighting a couple years ago.
