>2014>not smoking mugwortLol plebs.
Check out the amazing effects:
Mugwort was considered the 'universal herb for protection and prophecy' throughout the ancient world. Dedicated to Artemis and Diana, Mugwort was used for pain and healing, psychic powers and lucid dreaming. In ancient China and Japan, Mugwort was hung in open doorways to exorcise the spirits of disease. The ancient Europeans did the same to ward off evil spirits. These two separated cultures also believed that the supernatural powers of Mugwort were revealed by
mermaids who came from the sea to present the herb for the good of humankind.
Also known as the 'traveller’s herb for protection', Roman soldiers placed Mugwort inside their sandals for endurance on long marches. One Roman general recorded that his men marched 10 miles further, as well as faster, when on Mugwort.
Mugwort was once the staple ingredient in beer before Hops was introduced. It was also known as Sailor's Tobacco, as it was used as an alternative when sailors ran out of tobacco at sea.
Mugwort tea was usually drunk before divination rituals and also burnt as a ‘transporting’ incense. Also known as the visionary herb, Mugwort is still used today for increasing psychic powers. Native Americans also burned Mugwort as a ‘smudge’ to purify the spiritual and physical environment. The herbal tea was, and is still
used by women for late periods (and, as it relaxes the uterus, also for natural terminations without the trauma, pain or guilt – it was just a late period!).
THEREFORE PREGNANT WOMEN MUST NEVER USE MUGWORT OR BE IN ANY CONTACT WITH IT!
Effects:
The leaves may be smoked for a dreamy, relaxed effect. Mugwort may be smoked or drunk as a tea at night to induce colourful and lucid dreaming. Also placed under pillow slips for astral traveling and fanciful dreams.

i was introduced to mugwort about 2 weeks ago. smoked and drank tea of it a few times. dreams are redic lucid to the point i cant wake up from them but completely aware. speak and notice entities in dreams also even when not high on it. yes it gets you "high" but its less lethargic/intense/mind altering than cannabis but more relaxing for me. since its introduction ive been notcing deja vu and dream prophecy(to a minor extent) also noticing coincidences a lot, like ill think of something and an hour later i see it in one way or another. weird as fuck that i was just thinking about getting more mugwort and my internet just started working again and i end up on this board randomly and scrolling to this thread.

>>5391Mugwort is most famous for it’s use as a "Dream" herb. It is known to enhance dreaming, both in sleep and in Shamanic Journeying, Hedge Riding and other trance work. Mugwort can be used as a tea, smoked, tincture, smudge and salves or massage oil. It is said to enhance whatever level of dreaming one is developed in. For example, if one can not remember one’s dreams, Mugwort will enhance and help the individual to develop this. If one is at the next level of dreaming, cognitive dreaming: (being aware one is dreaming and being able to "manipulate" the dream at will) Mugwort will enhance this. The final level is precognitive dreaming, dreaming of future events.
You can also use it in a smudge and burn it before bed to enhance dreams. Or used in dream pillows. It has been used for insomnia, nervousness, anxiety, pain and bring on menses. Kills parasitic worms internally. Do not use if you are pregnant.
Mugwort in ones shoes is said to alleviate fatigue from walking. You can use it to ward off evil spirits, banish negative energies and cleanse tools. A good herb for clearing negativity from the home. Use for scrying tools as well as any tools you use for Dreaming/Journey work, such as drums, beater sticks and rattles.
I am not a physician nor do I claim to be. If you have a health problem, please seek your doctors advice. Not every herb is right for every person. If you have heart problems, high blood pressure, are pregnant, or any other health condition….. check with your doctor before starting an herbal treatment. Honestly, it's pretty shit. I think most people who have smoked it agree that it's one of the worst ways to trip that there is. Unlike LSD, psilocybin, peyote, or what have you, there's not really an inherent "upper" effect that will alleviate how fucking scary it can be to have everything so abstracted. And having it wear off after 20-30 minutes at most is pretty weak.
That being said, if going outside of the law is too much of a risk for your situation and you're 100% confident in your mental fortitude, it's the only legal psychedelic here in USA. And even then about half the states have outlawed it in the past decade or so because lol the gubmint is fucking retarded.
>>10274
In case this is still relevant, I don't recommend trying it with anything. I did that my first time and just found it was incongruous to my mind in that state and the whole thing seemed stupid. Just try looking at stuff or listening to basic sounds to absorb them in full. Or hang with some people and smoke it.

It tastes disgusting and mixes well with nothing. I tried mixing it with yogurt, water and chocolate milk and it was still vomit inducing. The best luck I had was mixing it with fruit yougurt, but even slightly too much spoils it. It also smells horrible and will make you gag.
As for the effects: Not great. Make me naseous. I never got used to it even after multiple tries. A feeling of seasickness, sweatiness and general discomfort. Can get you "high" I guess. Laying down flat on your back while staying completely still can lead to a kinda weird nice feeling.
Do weed or shrooms instead.

>Mugwort was once the staple ingredient in beer before Hops was introduced.
Sort of true. Around the world indigenous cultures brewed alcohol with all sorts of different herbs prior to the rise of hopped beers, mugwort is just one of them. Mugwort was particularly popular in ancient Britain among other places IIRC. Hops were also used in times past, but they were not always preferred due to their sedative effects. Some other popular herbs used in fermented beverages included yarrow, juniper, elderflower, ground ivy & hundreds of others.
There's some evidence that the Reinheitsgebot was at least in part influenced by Protestant ideals about altered states - you see at the time the Catholic church had the run on selling these psychoactive ales brewed with proprietary herb mixtures (gruit ale) and were making a killing on selling the stuff. The Reinheitsgebot law was passed around the same time as the reformation… seems possible the law had two nice side effects; curtailing a niche income for the Catholics & forcing people, by law, to drink beers with sedative properties (lupulin). I think we all know that consciousness is chemical based so the implications here are fun.
Anyway, the potency of any herb is increased greatly by putting it into fermenting wort compared to making teas or ingesting it. If any of you brew beer (and more people really should) I highly recommend trying some gruit mixtures in place of hops. I personally suggest the aspirant to avoid yarrow however, unless you want to fly into a thujone induced ecstatic rage for a few hours.
