This, honestly.
But all you can really do is not be a shitty person, and occasionally be honest with people and tell them, or simply show them through your actions, so that instead of fearing a male, if you are one, around kids, they'll be okay with it.

Media becoming truly impartial and unbiased in their reporting.

If they covered the story of a pedo going to jail, they need to show the little girl/boy in distress, trying to tell everyone that he/she didn't do anything wrong, that he/she loves him/her, that he/she feels safe with him/her. Possibly even set up a follow-up interview with the child to show the public that they aren't a victim of abuse, just a victim of unfair laws.

If they're going to cover the story of the teacher who was revealed to be a pedo, they need to point out that he/she has no criminal record, no reports of harassment filed against him/her, that both adults and children trust him/her and claim that he/she does his/her job well.

And when they do cover a story about a bad pedo, an actual criminal, they need to point out that this person isn't average. They need to show that he's mentally disturbed. They need to show that he's a bad person that just happens to be a pedophile also.

that would never happen, though

if a news story like that was printed, they would be bombarded with comments that the little girl was groomed to say all those things she didn't mean, or that the pedo told her to tell people she liked it or he would hurt her or something

people will never hesitate to dismiss the unpleasant ideas of children

But then what happens when another story like that pops up a few weeks later another girl acting the same way, in a completely different location? And then another, and another, and another…

It's easy to dismiss something that occurs once. It's not so easy to dismiss something that happens frequently, all over the world, under varying circumstances.

>It's not so easy to dismiss something that happens frequently, all over the world, under varying circumstances.

2014 was the warmest year on record. There are still people skeptical of anthropogenic climate change (because someone on TV questioned it). People will readily ignore anything that doesn't fit their preferred worldview or preconceived biases.

But kids can also be gullible, and can be manipulated due to inexperience. One parent can turn a child against another parent simply by constantly telling them the same story. So a child saying they love someone is dismissed because children are easily brainwashed by adults (who children typically view as authority figures). And people will do all kinds of things if told to by someone they view as an authority figure. One might even argue that the worldwide hatred of pedos is due to adults being brainwashed as children. Adults told them this is the way things are, and the children believed them. Someone older told them so. I doubt every adult just came to that conclusion on their own. But there is a commonplace feeling of "they're just a kid, they need to be protected."

So if tons of adults are telling a kid "this was abuse, you're a victim, you were abused, you just don't realize it, they were taking advantage of you" they may believe it (and in many cases it may be abuse). Whereas a kid might think, "Did they even do anything wrong?" Many people would say it's always abuse. Many adults simply believe that children lack the mental capacity to love someone or desire someone in that kind of way, so they think it's always abuse, always. "But I love him." "You don't know what love is, you're just a kid." There's a recognition that adults know more than children, and knowledge is power (and there can be abuses of power).

And since kids are often ignorant about the value of things, and if sex is involved, it's much easier to make the case that a predator was taking advantage of a child's ignorance to get sex for free (or for little value). And since many predators realize that sex has value, they might travel to visit child prostitutes and pay money for child sex. And many predators are serial offenders. The fact that many kids are involved and that each of them was left behind weakens the case it was ever about "love" but only about the predator's own lust and physical gratification (as opposed to some committed long term monogamous relationship).

People could also blame worldwide media sexualization of children. People don't live in a bubble where they're unaffected by the media, they absorb media messages (this guy >>13775 said he got addicted to shota on halfchan. Even if that story isn't true, people still get addicted to certain stimuli). One could cite indigenous tribes where adult women give male kids oral sex, but then they can be dismissed as uncivilized savages. One could cite the movement in the 70s in Germany to legalize child sex, but then see the adults today damaged by it.

So even if someone acknowledges that children can feel sexual feelings for adults, they would probably argue that the power differential is too great, and the child's perspective of the situation is too limited and lacking, and the mental capacity of the child is not advanced enough to even consider a physical relationship as anything but an adult who knows better taking advantage of a naive child.

>What would, in terms of furthering our cause, be the best thing (clearly definable single event) that could happen to us?

The zombie apocalypse or similar event causing the total breakdown of society.

The concept of childhood as a time of impenetrable kek innocence began as the result of surpluses of food and other resources that allowed people to see children as more than little adults who were needed for their agricultural/industrial productivity. That's why, even today, adult-child sexual relationships and prostitution are only common in very poor places: families in places like that can't afford to view their children as innocents who can afford to avoid adult realities.

In places where economic surpluses remain widely distributed among the population, adult-child relationships will never be accepted. Indeed, in some social strata in Western societies, there is now an extended adolescence: many "kids" are not expected to grow up and take on adult responsibilities until their late 20s or even early 30s. I've heard many people say that the idea of a 30 year old dating a 19 year old is sick cradle-robbing, while 50 years ago that kind of relationship wouldn't have been unusual, 100 years ago it would have been common, and 200 years ago a 19 year old girl just getting serious about marriage would be behind many of her peers.

A period of breakdown in the social and economic structures that shape our current reality would lead to the reintroduction of traditional relationships (strict gender roles, older man/younger woman (or girl) relationships), and if society were to rebuild, there would be a period of time in which that reality would have to be taken into account.

Eventually, on a long enough timeline, if this society returned to the economic surpluses and relationships of old, it would likely ratchet up the age of consent again.

>What would, in terms of furthering our cause, be the best thing (clearly definable single event) that could happen to us? What kind of celebrity, or mainstream media-covered incident would do the most to help our situation?

A TV show that normalizes pedo/child relationships.

Maybe on Netflix or Amazon Video. Possibly with the Weinstein Brothers involved. I guess more of a comedy than a documentary.

As the shows Ellen and Modern Family and Transparent have shown, propaganda works.

While there have been movies about pedo/child relationships, a lot of that was in the 70s, or is French or European. In Nymphomaniac, which acknowledges child sexuality, Lars Von Trier wrote that pedos who never act on their urges deserve a fucking medal. But he's not really the spokesman pedos need. Shia LaBeouf was in Nymphomaniac, and also in Sia's Elastic Heart music video with Maddie Ziegler, but that video had a huge anti-pedo backlash.

Basically what's needed is a pedo version of Modern Family.

If Michael Jackson were convicted of pedophilia that would probably have been the best single event.
Too many people loved him. And if it were true and he confessed to it. Fewer, but still many would love him.
Though it is likely to just be construed as him in a moment of weakness and didn't mean to, which is the defense most caught pedos run to.

The other reason why it seems one-sided is because people who did have sex with adults as a child and weren't negatively affected by it don't really speak up. Mostly because they are either pedophiles themselves now they are grown up or don't want to feel judged by openly supporting pedophiles lest people assume they are one as well.

To go the sadder route. Exposing a vigilante who savagely murdered a pedophile, who had not committed a crime, without any proof.
Unfortunately, there are people who would still think they are justified.

A pro-pedophilia movie.
Hollywood has plenty of fake sex scenes involving adults. When it comes to children they usually pan away and throw in other negative cues (girl's scream, girl resisting, girl scared) to imply abuse. The closest they actually came to a fake sex scene with a child is in the movie Hounddog (which shows that it can be done) though that was again depicting yet another definite rape scene. That is all they ever dare to show. Portraying a positive experience would cause them too much controversy about them possibly supporting pedophilia.
Adding on to that they also take the time to clearly profile the abuser as the most sadistic pedorapist child murderer. Quite common in Law and Order: SVU and other detective pictures once in a while.

I think it absolutely has to start without age gaps. An age gap just further inflames what's already an inflammatory "sexualization of children" and that's the most important taboo. Just feature progressively younger couples with sex lives.

I don't know if it can get so far as sexual freedom for ages as young as some people here believe should be permitted, but I definitely think we could easily see a better situation than today by focusing on young couples.

The Harry Potter and Teen Titans fandoms are both filled with written and illustrated fantasies of sexual partnerships between characters in their early-to-mid teens, freely available on the Internet and often read and even written by users of similar ages. I know that's how I got my start in erotica, albeit before those specific fandoms existed. Anyway, it's a good example of what I think is bound to actually be the way forward, intentionally or not. A few successive generations growing up with easier and easier access to appropriate erotic material as early as they become sexually aware and able to use a search engine is not going to create a sustainable future for the present stigmas.

 No.18411

>>18407
Without age gaps I don't really see the point.

It will either be viewed as sexual exploration between teens which is a bit more accepted though a lesser taboo depending on how far they go. Or viewed as pedophilia considering adults are in charge of production. Sia's innocent Chandelier video got some of this kind of flak. Their reaction to that video also caused me to realise that people's opposition to this stuff isn't about whether a child was harmed. They are more opposed to it because a pedo might enjoy it.

If along a different vein it's as a way to expose children to the idea that children having sex lives is something positive (which some people might argue is child grooming) it needs to be done in a responsible way which I believe can be done.

I agree with the ending though. With the internet, children are becoming more sexually aware than ever before so when they grow up they will have less reservations with their own children.

> They are more opposed to it because a pedo might enjoy it.

I came to that realization quite a while ago. This is exemplified by the overuse of the word "pedophilic" in the media. The time when the word was only used to describe a person's sexual interests are long over. Today everything can be "pedophilic", an exhibition, an ad, a movie, an opinion, etc.. Only because, hypothetically, it could sexually arouse a small section of the population.

Only minorities that have political clout matter. Gays have secured that place through market forces in entertainment and fashion
Pedos need to secure their place of being heard.

But with things like https://www.billboard.com/articles/news/6429632/sia-sorry-for-pedophilia-concerns-over-new-clip-elastic-heart
>"I anticipated some 'pedophelia[sic]!!!' Cries for this video. All I can say is Maddie and Shia are two of the only actors I felt could play" "These two warring 'sia' self states." "I apologize to those who feel triggered by #ElasticHeart My intention was to create some emotional content, not to upset anybody."
Which wasn't even pedophilic in intent.
And http://www.narth.org/docs/pedcrisis.html
>APA said that no matter what the research showed either way about the psychological effects of pedophile relationships–pedophilia remained, in its opinion, "morally" wrong.
